Are you able to save your dark mode as a color scheme so you can switch back and forth quickly for all sketch and model color settings? What do you do in drawings? Do any of these settings affect other users when you're in a PDM environment?
Thanks for the analysis! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (mistake turkey blossom warfare blade until bachelor fall squeeze today flee guitar). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

Awesome tutorial. Easy to follow.
Great videos. I'm learning a lot with you. Thank you for putting the time to teach Onshape in a very easy way to understand.
Awesome thanks - Glad this is working!!
Is there a way to do it with only the mouse ?
Sure - there's a PAN icon - you could add this to one of your toolbars to make it easy to access. Or you could map CTRL to a thumb button in your mouse (if you have one)
I know it has an easy way to solve it but I cant find. I am struggling with those two tooth that mentioned 3 edges are circular. can anyone tell me what is the true approach ?

I liked the skip instances
pipes/first 2d sketch on top plane with centerline dimensions and add 3d sketch for legs& extension at yy' . swept boss -circular profile- 3d sketch with thin feature. solid bars/ - 2pcs circle at front plane and boss extrude upto bodies and then cut the slots.
According to OS, fillets within sketches consume a lot more computational resources than feature fillets. Just an FYI comment on the discussion around 4:20.
This is impossible

Beautiful tutorial as always !!!! Keep up the good job
Learned lots but could the 'RIB' be used to add the Gusset Support? I mean, would it be faster? I really liked learning about the 'parallel' like constraint for the rib and the slot description. Good work, TTT.
Remember the RIB goes "up to next" in 3 directions, so you could do it with a RIB, but it would fill in the corner. Part 3 of my video series on PLASTIC PART DESIGN in ONSHAPE (on the onshape channel) comes out tomorrow - and there is a dedicated section in there to Ribs. Good stuff!
Thank you very much!!!
Awww yeah!
Do you ever import a picture of something that you need to build a part to fit into? I have done this in Fusion in the past and once the image is scaled properly it worked pretty good but maybe that is not a good process?
Yeah I do that pretty regularly. It's a great workflow!! here's a video showing how I do it in onshape: th-cam.com/video/Rw-6OXOtP3Q/w-d-xo.html and this: th-cam.com/video/YkUaXfkIhQk/w-d-xo.html

No way, just what I needed. I wish I knew that 4 years ago.
Fantastic video Toby - If only all tutorials had this pace.
Thanks! Yeah on www.TooTallToby.com/practice I've been trying to populate the models with tutorials - but I think I'm gonna go a nice slow pace for the Tier 1 and Tier 2 challenges (since these are for beginners) and then I'm gonna speed things up when I get into Tier 3, 4, and 5!
@@TooTallToby That sounds like a good move - From the perspective of someone who gets parametric design, i look for short cuts, key terminology, advanced features and heuristics (like your task evaluation check list). If you want ideas for content - then i respectfully suggest: Assemblies, Version Control, Variant Management and generative design. Either way I'm going to keep watching for sure.
1038.826 OnShape. Over an hour. I missed the red note saying "all dimensions are to centerline..." I thought the main tube radii bends were 12" to the inside of the bends instead of the center. Once I fixed that, everything else fixed itself. What a challenge! Drawing the sweep path, and carving out the bench seats was fun. I used a boolean subtract for the seats--is there a better way?
Awesome job Ken!! I think I did the sweep SOLID as a "tube". Then us used that same sweep path, and did another sweep as a CUT. This seemed to work well, and helped me avoid having that extra chunk of geometry!
@@TooTallToby Never thought of that! I guess I didn’t know a sweep could be used to cut. Makes perfect sense though. Thanks for the feedback! I always learn something from your channel!
Cool tip

Awesome Toby. Gutted i missed MML...Totally lost track of the time. I was disappointed with the exploit of the first model. I was thinking i'd create 1 box section and use different configurations for the other pieces to get the mass and maybe even create an assembly. This method would obviously take too long for SM tho. Catch you Fri for the High school Final. Can't wait.
Got it in Onshape in 14:43 (phew!)
What’s the chances of a tutorial on adding a custom table (for mass properties) in fusion similar to the onshape one? Saw Greatnate using one in the last competition.
Here's a video from our last tournament, featuring RAMBROS, a fusion 360 user who has a script he uses to generate the correct mass: th-cam.com/video/8-tvdX4WGJ4/w-d-xo.html Here's the script he uses: github.com/rambros3d/CalculateMass-fusion360/releases/download/ttt/CalculateMass_ultimate.zip This is probably the best way - good luck and glad you're enjoying the challenges!
@@TooTallToby thanks man!
@@TooTallToby sweet got it up and running. I am so hype I didn't need to write that code! I couldn't get my script to work correctly. Thank you again!
Hi Toby I'm a solidworks trainer from Indian institute called Spotlight Technology
Awesome - nice to meet you and welcome to the channel! @vickyoo5
Got it with Onshape in 18:19 I'd be interested in a tutorial on how to properly do the feet ... my solution has a measured variable for the hex side width 🙈
Why is a win when the part is not per drawing. That is bad.
Great Feedback JBCool0729 - thanks!
@TooTallToby I know that is OK because you looking for mass but its not. Just like the bracket with 4 holes. I could place the 4 holes next to each other with out dimensions just for speed. Is that makes ok. You should have a 100 % rule to do per drawing other wise they learn the wrong way. It is your show but I don't support this way.
Sir - with all due respect - you are a visitor here. This is literally the first comment I've ever seen from you. If you're goal is truly to help improve the community then stick around for a little while. Participate in the Model Monday Livestreams. Chat and support the people who are participating in the tournaments. Join the discord. Then, after you've been here for a bit, you might learn a little more about why this "exploit" exists. But you just springing up, and immediately launching into a complaint about how "you don't like the Ivan exploit" ...that's both ineffective (if your goal is to create change) and it injects an element of negativity into the community - which is something that I generally try to avoid. There have been plenty of people before you (and I'm sure after you) who make it seem like it's "so simple" to force the competitors to strictly adhere to the dimensioned 2D print. But here's the RUB: When you have competitors who are using all different CAD systems, and who are designing using all different methods (including different starting plane, different starting features, and different origin locations) - how exactly would one "ensure" that the runners are adhering to the 2D print? The closest valid suggestion I've heard (to date) is to use the principal moments of inertia (taken relative to the model's center of mass) - but this has several limiting factors: 1. Not all CAD programs offer this 2. It doesn't always work correctly if you use an assembly in place of a multi body (or vice versa) 3. It has 3 numbers (Px Py and Pz) which is going to be awkward to enter/capture/validate on the fly, during a youtube livestream. 3 numbers would also lead to more typos and mistakes, both on the competitor side and also on the Admin side. But look - I'm all ears - If you have a suggestion that will tick all the boxes, here's my suggestion to you: Get on the discord and start sharing your ideas. Lots of good people in there to bounce your suggestions off of. Just remember we've been down a lot of these roads before - and most of them are dead ends. Good luck on your CAD journey.
@@TooTallToby you are wrong. This is not first comment. There was similar comment that I made before in last tournament you had that the part was not per drawing and he win the battle. And I do press likes 👍
Good to know - and thanks for the Likes! 😁 the question still stands - what's the best way to ensure that the users perfectly match the drawings? When there are 2 people competing I can't really watch every single step each user takes - so what's the best way to validate?

following along with you, I can not get the mirror sketch feature to work on the tombstones. it does mirror the line, but when i do extrude, it says missing faces of sketch 3 and it only extrudes the tombstone that was actually drawn. I can't figure out what im doing differently than you... the mirrored tombstone is not selectable by the way. I also could not get the hole counterbore to put a counterbore onnthe face in the radius'. all of the selection points are on an edge, I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Yeah that's a tricky one - maybe after you start the extrusion command, clear your selections (with the spacebar) and then try to select the regions by clicking them from the graphics area
found my fillet settings were different than yours, changed to match and now i have counterbores. ill try the mirror sketch again, thanks.

@Rouxvoloution I'm not sure, I haven't fixed it yet lol. But I noticed that a lot of his drop menu for sketch/extrude/filet/ ect, had different values than mine- that's what I found with the filets. I'm thinking there is something in the sketch or mirror step that is different. Hope this helps...

I've been using solidworks for over 10 years, but I learn things from every video you do. My question on this one though is what on the drawing told us that the 9mm boss was concentric to the larger radius?
Also, in the beginning of the video your feature tree has a draft feature, but it's not in the end. I'm curious about that. Thanks again for these!
Hi JD - thanks very much for the kind words and glad you're enjoying the channel! Both radii have a dimension which originates from the centerpoint of the arc, and there's only one centerpoint - so they are sharing this centerpoint. I'm not sure why I made that drafted on the original model - maybe I was using it for another video 😁
@@TooTallToby Got ya! It didn't occur to me that that centermark was for all 3 circular features. Thanks!
@@TooTallToby Oh and I notice you don't use mouse gestures. Is that to simplify teaching or do you not prefer them?
