Classic Review: Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona
Join me for a tour and drive impressions of Ferrari's stunning 365 GTB/4, better known as the Daytona. Built from 1968 to 1973, it replaced the 275 GTB/4 and ushered in a new design direction for the Prancing Horse. Powered by a 4.4-litre V12 with six Weber dual-choke carburettors, the Daytona had a claimed top speed of 280kph and 0-60mph (0-96kph) split of 5.4sec. In reality, these numbers were probably wildly optimistic.     worst road to test a Diablo why not take it to a road where it can stretch its legs? what is wrong with you people?

      This was not a "road test". It was an event Lamborghini put on where a handful of journalists (including me) had access to half a dozen cars (400 GT, Miura, Countach, Diablo, Murcielago and LM002). They provided a given route (about 10km out and back) and I had about three hours to make videos on all six cars. So this was the best that could be done

    I can feel the passion in Mr. Mitja's words, he truly loves this car and he has put all of his passion and love into it. The way he tought "Oh, I need a place for my cellphone, a cupholder, some cargo space" because he uses Lamborghini and wishes he had those things is MESMERIZING. The idea of a more practical fun car is always a good one, and this Revuelto is the epitome of that. I absolutely adore this car and it's design and listening to Mr. Mitja talk about it made me love it that much more. Also, I find it interesting how he didn't reveal the easter eggs! When you see the rear taillights from above they lots of little "Y"s that look cool as hell And also, the rear engine bay is designed in such a way that when the third brake light is on, in conjunction with the triangle between the exhaust pipes you can see the face of a bull horns and all. (That is my favorite design Easter Egg maybe of all time.)

    You say "it actually feels rather like an oil tanker." That makes me wonder if you ever actually controlled an oil tanker, or if you ever drove a classic Ferrari before.

      Never steered an oil tanker; it was merely a metaphor. And, yes, I have driven other classic Ferraris (you can see the videos I've posted on the 308 and 550 Maranello). I've also driven a selection of classic Lamborghinis, Porsches, Mercs, BMWs etc etc. Have a look at the vids I've posted on the Lambo 400 GT, Miura SV, Countach, Diablo etc

    I am intrigued by the hoods on both of these cars. My understanding is that the hoods with louvered vents in the hood started with the ‘83 QV variants. I’m wondering if these were retrofitted.

      Well spotted, sir. They may well have been retrofitted. As you correctly pointed out, earlier 308 didn't have the vented bonnets

    Very interesting. At 2:50, you can see Ferrari has changed quite a few things under the hood! First of which, is ignition coils instead of spark plug wires (see the connector banks on the wheel wells). This makes a lot of sense, as their factory wire setup is so problematic. Also, the injection rail is custom, or at least not factory. Seems there are several other differences around the MAF, intake and behind the coolant reservoir. Would love a spec sheet on what they did here!!

      I would take the 365 GTB4 and fit it an electrical power steering unit from Z-Power. It would dramatically change the driveability of the car.

      @@josvandencamp8441 Interesting idea 💡. That would certainly make a difference. That plus aftermarket suspension (Bilstein shocks/Eibach springs) that's available for the Daytona. Haven't looked into it, but their might be some sort of shift kit to make easier work of that four-speed manual

    Thanks for the very clear and complete explanations, but the filming of the new cabin is awful (the filming, not the cabin). The viewer cant distinguish a single detail. The camera man shows us the designer but not the new facia. What’s the point ?! I honestly expected better.

    Hi can the seat recline? If it can would it be possible to buy a single seat for my wheelchair and where would I have to buy the set from? I’m in the uk

      Hi Kain. Thanks for your comment. Yes, the seat can recline, but I can't answer your question about the wheelchair compatibility. I'll ask the Lambo folks next time I'm at one their events

      @@GautamSharma99991 Thanks for getting back to me. Don’t worry about compatibility because I have a modified bracket that can fit any car seat. How much would one seat cost me? I’m after a black seat with red stitching and red bits at the top at the side (going on the seat in this video) Usually I get Corbou seats for my wheelchair as they are comfortable. Is that Lamborghini seat padded or is it the bare minimum? I can’t drive but I’m a massive Lamborghini fan and I’ve always fancied a real cool looking Lamborghini seat for my wheelchair.

      Glad you enjoyed it. To be honest, I found this car much easier and more pleasant to drive than the Miura and Countach, which I drove immediately afterwards. The 400 GT rides well, and when the gearchange was much better than the Miura and Countach. I really had to wrestle with those cars
