There's always something to fix, or some project to work on. Follow me as I fix things around the house, from plumbing, automotive, electrical, and more! In almost every video, this is the first time I'm trying this repair/fix. I'm not an expert and I make mistakes, but that doesn't mean I can't fix it.

Fixing steering drag link on a Craftsman LT1000 riding mower
มุมมอง 941หลายเดือนก่อน
The steering drag link on my 2003 Craftsman LT1000 (model 917.272680) came apart (while mowing!) and wouldn't stay connected. The drag link has two captive ball joints and after much use and wear, one side would no longer stay on the ball joint. I could have just purchased a new one for ~$25 USD but decided to try and repair it with an old washer. (And a welder - ha). The Craftsman part number ...
Replacing the front axle of a Craftsman LT1000 riding mower
มุมมอง 2.9K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
The front axle assembly of my Craftsman LT1000 (Model 917.272680) needed to be replaced. Part number 175131. I picked up a used one on eBay and got to work! It wasn't too difficult, although the nuts holding the axle in place were quite stubborn!
Replacing starter motor on a 2006 Honda Accord
มุมมอง 1.2K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
The 2006 Honda Accord LX wouldn't start - no action from the starter motor at all. After a few quick checks (charged battery, good fuses and relays) I realized it was most likely the starter. I bought a new one on Amazon for ~$70 USD and swapped it out. I had some helping hands on this fix which made the process easier! This job required several socket sizes: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm, plus a ...

Replacing my mailbox and fixing things up
มุมมอง 788 หลายเดือนก่อน
My mailbox was rotted and needed to be replaced. So I told my neighbors that I would re-paint the frame and install their mailboxes, if they decided to replace theirs. Some were already in great shape, so only a few neighbors purchased new ones. I removed some mailboxes, scrubbed and sanded the frame, and then gave it two coats of an exterior paint that should help keep the mildew at bay. When ...
Installing a Rough Country Gas Tank Skid Plate on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK
มุมมอง 3.1K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
I'm so lucky my gas tank didn't fall off! The OEM skid plate was almost rusted completely away so it needed to be replaced. I chose a Rough Country Gas Tank Skid Plate because it was much cheaper than an OEM skid plate while also being a bit thicker. Most of the time was spent wrestling with very rusted bolts and then figuring out how to keep the tank suspended while I lifted in the new skid pl...

[QUICK FIX!] Replacing wheel bearings on Craftsman mower

Replacing them is a cinch and can be done in 20 min! Craftsman mower 917.272680

Replacing the head gasket on a Craftsman riding mower

My Craftsman riding mower (917.272680) with a 17.5 HP Briggs & Stratton engine was smoking and burning through oil. Just about every week, I would need to add a half pint - pint of oil!! Parking brake adjustment on a 2012 Jeep Wrangler
มุมมอง 14Kปีที่แล้ว
The parking brake on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK had too much slack. I had to pull the handle nearly to the vertical position to have the brake "bite". In this video, we remove the rear wheels, brakes, and rotors to gain access to the brake shoe adjustment cog. From there, we can move the shoes closer to the brake drum, which results in less play on the brake handle! After chocking the front wheel...

Thanks for the video. My left earbud has recently stopped working - any idea how I can work out whether it's the earbud itself or the case before I start taking the earbud apart?
So, after watching a couple of these videos I noticed that they put a lot of extra cord in the umbrella. So, I decided to start by checking the top end of the umbrella to see if the cord was still accessible there - and yes it was! At the very top, over the pulley, I could see the cord still there. So I turned the crank and loosened the cord more to allow me to pull the cord out further to push more of it into the end. I had to fish it back through the end cap (as I had to glue it in place a while ago because it kept slipping off and that's how the cord got abraded in the first place). I just used a crochet hook - worked like a charm. Then all I needed to do was pop the end button off, remove the broken piece and replace it with the end of the remaining cord. Thank you for this video! You saved me a lot of time, frustration - and money!!
Mine just got water damage? What can I do?
Sorry, I'm not sure what to do about water damage. Assuming they're not damaged permanently, maybe just wait until they're fully dried out before trying to recharge?
whats that daisy chain of bolt size check kit you have?
I can't remember where I got it, but it looks similar to "Nut & Bolt Thread Checker" on Amazon. It's not bad, but there are some drawbacks: if you are trying to measure the threads on something large, it's hard to spin the whole daisy chain around. Also, the threads aren't too deep. Lastly, I wish the markings were clearer.
The magnet below the battery fell off and stuck with the battery, what should i do
Hmm... I'm not sure how the magnet is held in? Perhaps it needs to be re-glued?
@@ificanfixitsocanyou it was such a pain, i solve it by replacing the battery while in the magnetic case so the magnet stays in place
Not sure that was particularly helpful. At the beginning it was a whirlwind of pulling clips of pins. But, which clips, which pins. Eventually it seemed you have to remove the mower deck, but that was not obvious!
One of my turn signals fell off and I have two wires hanging out. I bought a new set that has two wires with bullet connections. I just wrapped the wires around the bullet connections and nothing happened. Do I need to put a bullet connector on the wires? The other side turn signal is working so I don’t think it’s a bad switch. Thank You for any advice.
As long as the wires are connected to metal, you shouldn't need a bullet connector. However, it is important to always have a good electrical connection and to protect that connection from the elements. Sometimes the metal on a bullet connector can oxidize, which means the outer surface is not completely conductive. Try sanding the outside of the connector until you see shiny metal and then re-wrap. But again, you will want a good, clean connection.
Fantastic video - I was able to use my cooking hob instead of a heat gun to open the case and detach the board from the battery
Sony is such a shit company to not take responsibility for this failed product. I hate that I spend $300 and was only able to use it for a year.
i just replaced my batteries i think i did it right thanks for the instructions
Just put a new one on
Sure, send me $25! Haha - If this repair doesn't last, I may go that route, but for now, it's working! And it only cost me one washer!
you could have used that vice to close the washer around the ball joint and then just smacked the top of the ball joint while the vice supported the washer. Not a good idea though as the washer is a thin piece and it will wailer out fast.
I'm hoping the washer will last a while... if not, I can either re-try the repair or buy a new drag link! So far, I'm happy with my quick repair
Thank you. I didn't want to risk it using a heat gun, so I just used a razor blade to cut the adhesive on the case. I think it could be done without removing the ribbon cable there's enough slack.
Replacing batteries with a new one will resolve the draining issue? As some users have complained the issue still persist may be a motherboard causing draining issue
They refused to provide a free kit. They charged me $49.50 plus shipping. My set was only about three years old and cost over $300. One would think this company would be responsible for their inferior mechanism.
Ugh! That really stinks! Sounds like quality has gone downhill, as mine lasted for many years longer than yours... ugh
Can you just disconnect this to stop it from clicking if you don’t have the turn signals hooked up?
Yep! If the relay doesn't have power, it won't click - and obviously your signals won't turn on.
Same problem here .. no Sony anymore
Was this the fix you did after you put the new blinkers on the back and it started solid without blinking. Cause that's what happened to mine. I put new blinkers on the back and now they're all solid. I'll try a new relay.
Yes, it was after I replaced the signals. Thankfully, a new signal relay is cheap - and easy to replace!
Did you ever fix the issue of them not blinking? I'm putting on aftermarket taillights. And having the same exact issue that stays solid. Did you ever figure it out? If so, please let me know, is it just replacing the relay?
Mine is having the same issue! Did you figure it out?
Thank you very much. Definitely going to give a shot!!!
Awesome video. I've just repaired one of my earbuds with your tutorial. I'd just add a note to say to open the earbud after applying heat, I've applied pliers, VERY gently, pressing on the sides where the parts are glued, not on top of the main surfaces. That allowed it to have a slight opening from where I could slide through the rest and separate the parts. Put some fabric where the pliers are pressing to avoid marks on the surface of the plastic. All this very very gently and it's working as new. Thanks.
What exhaust does he have shoot
How do I know which wires go to the turn signals?
Careful with the heat gun! I managed to melt the earphone as well as the glue. I did manage to salvage the situation, but I think it's a case of less is more when applying heat!
Thanks for making me melt my earbud.. worst tutorial ever.
Question, I've replaced both batteries, left and right. At first the right wouldn't connect, but after charging them both overnight- there right connects and is recognized by bluetooth- but the left Don't get any signal. Any advice?
I spent the majority of this maintenance on that right corner screw. Didn’t put it back in. Great video 👍
same here
Thank you mate, I was able to replace the battery and also glued the two halves with your suggested glue, you saved me £200 👍
Great video, but i think he should have added a warning for this. When taking the board off the battery, make sure you don't scrape AT ALL. There is a very tiny thin tab that connects the battery to the board. It will fall of without you even knowing it's there. If you do, a tiny, tiny dab of solder can fix this, but it is not nearly as good.
Brilliant! Thank you so much. I was afraid that I had to replace the batteries, what with sourcing the right parts and breaking the case etc. Now I feel confident I can do it too. Kudos sir!
Thank you. This was a great video.
The right side earbud replacement went good for me. On the left earbud, however, I ripped the ribbon cable in half trying to wiggle it out of the connector. 🙁
Oh my goodness this video saved my life!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! We got the car working again thanks to your help!!
Do u gotta drop the deck?
Godzilla must have put that plug and filter on . Both way to tight . .
For debris use a wet/dry vacuum and for odors use a ozone machine .
thanks for the video, very helpful. when i detached the battery the glue didn't stick anymore. i used two sided thin clear tape, it worked, but now im have a slight cracking sound on my right earbud... maybe i should use the same "rubber-like black glue" they used here, but i dont have a clue how to find it, could you please tell me which one is?
My car is leaking something around that area after I drive it. It’s right under this area, I’m pretty sure this is what it is
i need to do this on my left ear bud but i cant be asked why is this even happening bro
I melted the part the tip goes on. Them melted it on purpose again and reshaped it. Lost a bit of musical fidelity, but it still works :D
1/2 ASS JOB MISSED THE TOP HINGS 3 sets of hinges ,You got to get under it to do it right.
Im not going to risk doing tbis ill just not buy Sony headphones anymore after this
Thank you for the video! But extra help needed or suggestions needed please. I changed the batteries in both ear buds, both seem to be recognised and charging when i place them in the box as the orange light comes up. But neither of the two buds seem to be working as they are not detected by Bluetooth. I thought I got away with doing it, without breaking anything visible. Any suggestions????
Looks like you put the exhaust gasket on the intake. Good job though
Is there any way to adjust the tension in the belts?
An absolutely garbage company, getting by on past reputation. Totally unacceptable for what they charge.
Dude, I ordered a new pair not knowing you can replace the battery, smh
Thanks for the video - I managed to replace one of my headphone batteries which had gone - headphones are as good as new now, holding charge perfectly. Watching someone else go first gives me the confidence to fix things rather than just throw them away, as well as save money!
welp opened one fine ended up destroying the ribbon cable, that thing was stuck in there didn't wana budge
