As an mexican american, I was fucking hyped to see Ocelotl get added and to hear him speak nahautl and not just spanish made me even more hyped. Sadly my curse of "oh that character is cool, too bad they're the most op and unfun character ever devised" kicked in and it made not want to play him. I actually got back to playing again only recently and I went into arcade to get into groove a little bit, not knowing about his nerf, but after realizing the change I was totally fine with him it, I was glad that he didn't feel so braindead and it really made me realize some of the horrendous habits I formed. Also this might be my hot take, but I just don't think people are trying hard enough to make good fashion, or at least I never see it, all I have ever see is skull mask and bare chest with black, black and red if they're feeling daring today. Many of the bright colors I think really pop with his feathers, amd making themed outfits is pretty fun.

I sometimes play him, mostly 4v4 and mostly because of feats. Tier 1 is fun because I can avoid waiting for respawn and Tier 4 well... When Ubi revealed his Tier 4 I came in my pants straight away. I can't help myself but I became mentally attached to the "hook type abilities" when I first saw Scorpion as a kid. I simply played ALL of them. Pudge, Blitzcrank, Stitches, Roadhog, Squigly, Ruh Kaan, Clunker bros and the list goes on.

I think he might be my least favourite hero in the game next to vg and hito I always play heroes so I can learn how they’re played so then when I go against them I know their options however when I played oco I could play with no hands and still win a fight it’s just terrible especially when I was playing brain dead half the time so I got a couple messages and well I switched back to playing whoever I found fun at the time this was like a month after oco released as I came back from a long break from for honor

I think you missed a critical point being him not having bleed I know me and a bunch of other people just didn't care to play him cuz all he has is a infinite chain on everything which is cool in its own way but I fail to see how this guy is an Aztec other than his aesthetic

The nerf was justified 100%. The ganking problem this game has could be solved if the devs actually released the pin changes in that 1 TG they did like a year ago at this point. They did it, and we have not heard from it since. All they said was “we need more time to work on it but it’s a step in the right direction“ and that was so long ago at this point. I wish this character had a fun gimmick though, he should’ve been an assassin and a bleed character. Hunters stance should’ve been good for mixups when the opponent is bleeding, things like that would’ve gone such a long way. He’s my highest rep character just bc I like him but it still sucks to see that this is what they chose to do with an Aztec hero.

Meta abusers ruin games... they think something dies when their unfun, unfair, lazy character takes a tiny nerf and then flock to the next most depression inducing thing.

I'm still so sad his "Hunter stance" has no bleed on hit, it's such a unique move but it's ltierally so useless except for trying to be flashy. It literally feels and looks like it should do bleed but it just doesn't do bleed.

I got put in a match with 4 ocelots 3 of them would just stay together slowly moving from point to point while the other was always on the point they just left. It was the least fun I have ever had in for honor and my team won by like 200 points and I still wanted to disconnect the whole game

For sure. Ocelotl was always dumb in my book, when he was being teased I thought he was going to be the Outlnader's first Assassin. It's so frustrating to have a character's potential ruined because of "META"; He could've been this cool swift prowler type rat character that sneaks around to ambush and gank his opponents but NO!! I have always been a firm believer that the #1 punish to a whiffed bash should have always stayed a dodge to Guard-break and that it never should've been typical for bashes to chain on whiff or do damage unless it were something special like the feat "Haymaker" or "Basher"; So I'm sure you could imagine my surprise when they added Pirate, Ocelotl and changed Shugoki's head-butt and gave it damage which is still really annoying to me. A lot of Players will always swear up-and-down that a character is "Weak" and "Unplayable" simply on the basis that they can be punished according to their mistakes. It's always the same ridiculous argument. So exhausting trying to reason with M.E.T.A abusers and explain that just because it being best for a character to have weaknesses doesn't in the slightest make them bad. Giving him better perks and cosmetics is definitely a good way to actually making him interesting, though I wanna' see a full rework to his kit that really brings out a special and discernable Hunter-like playstyle. I feel like he could kinda' resemble Shaman in those regards.

I find ocelotl 5x more fun to fight than pirate Ocelotl is one of the coolest characters in the game design wise imo, his respawn voicelines are so satisfying.

The most annoying thing about him is that on console his animations especially light attacks are so janky as shit there basically isn’t an animation so every block of a light is just prediction

It's truly a tragedy for this hero, but i REALLY want every single hero to get the same nerf on their bashes so we can purge the player base of the meta huggin sweatlords looking for an easy win
