Im about to do this in my bedroom, using 6mm or 10mm insulated tile backer board. Could i use ct1 adhesive to stick the reveals on? What adhesive would you recommend?

This video is exactly what I need. I have similar issues but instead of tile on the external bay surface i have pebble dash render that has cracked in areas. I hope to tackle this in summer alongside insulating it to reduce heat loss.

Wow, I think that you are the only installer I've found who attaches PIR boards to non-cavity solid walls (not saying you're wrong by any means, just trying to gather info). 1910 house, I've stripped 2 20ft external walls of the old lime plaster due to historic water damage and was going to batten with 2*2, infill with 50mm PIR and tape the edges, more 25mm PIR over the top then plasterboard and skim Everyone has been screaming "interstitial mould, your floor joists will rot, use varour-open insulation!" so it's very confusing how to proceed. You don't seem to have any mould issues when using PIR on solid external non-cavity walls? You don't use any aluminium tape or a green vapour barrier? Thanks for any advice you can give, buddy, you're my only hope :)

Damn. Which id seen this before skimming my Victorian front room. Noticing a few hairline cracks in the plaster 1 year Especially during this very cold spell. It’s a shame because the walls are beautifully smooth and painted now. Best way to fix this? Or do I need to hack it all and start again? Any advice would be appreciated

My kitchen is really tight on space. Is it worth the effort of doing the external wall with the 6mm board that you have show in other videos ? It’s probably my only realistic option

How do you stop the cold bridge moving higher, above the window above the bit you filled between rafters? By insulating from the top down above the roof space?

Proper job! Those backer boards are better than plasterboard in every way.

Thank you for the video,I’m having this issue when plastering over old plaster in my past three jobs and I thought to put a thin coat of bonding before skimming over but I’ll be using the fibre glass mesh in the future. Have you tried putting a thin coat of bonding before applying the skim. Thank you.

Alright mate. What boards have you used here? I only have 12mm to play with in a curved bay window but they don't do the jackoboard flexo in 12mm. Can the normal jackoboard be slightly curved around a curved bay window? Thanks

what foam did you use around the edges of the board to fill gaps. the same as what you stuck to to the wall with? is it ok to use foam adhesive around or near hot water/gas pipes

is it ok to use no nonsense sticky foam adhesive/ or any other brand of foam adhesive around hot water pipes/gas pipes.

I believe that the insulation works but why on the thermal imaging camera would the external wall be a darker red (warm) colour after insulation ? Wouldn’t it be colder now that the heat is contained in the building ?

Great job. Bay windows look great but God they can be cold. Did you take the pir Insulation below the level of the floorboards?

We have this problem with our windows and unfortunately we papered and decorated up to the plastic trims soon after they were done. Of course they used plastic trim to cover up their handy work and to rip off and do properly not would mean needing to re paper and paint most of the room. Got to love the state of tradesmen in the UK!

So do you just put the 37.5 pir insulation board straight over current plastered wall, and then replaster it again?
