I was driving through the redwoods by myself one day when I noticed a trailhead off the side of the road. I stopped, backed up, parked, got out, and set off on this trail. After a couple hundred feet of walking I noticed some clothing. As I got closer, I realized it was a pair of jeans... once I got to the jeans, I realized why they were there. Someone had pooped their pants! This became immediately hilarious to me when I noticed the clovers printed on the pockets and that these were in fact a pair of Lucky Brand jeans... They were defintely NOT very "lucky" jeans for someone that day! Seeing the humor in this, I took a picture of these jeans and sent it to my friend with no caption. She replied moments later with "oh the irony!", 9 years later we're married. Not many guys would ever dare send a woman a random picture of poopy pants. But you know you've found your soulmate when she sees past the poopy pants to find the joke. Humor is an absolute must is any happy relationship.

I went to the Humboldt Redwoods SP last year, which is another grove of coastal California Redwoods. We didn't experience many crowds at all, even in May. The weather was nearly 90 degrees between clearings, but the moment you entered a grove, it became 65 degrees and humid. And so, so quiet. We saw a fallen tree that seemed to stretch on forever, walked inside trees that were hollow in the middle and yet still going strong, and after we left, our benchmark of what trees should look like was completely changed. It was a truly humbling and magical experience to walk among so many giants.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. This is EXACTLY so EXACTLY what I was looking for. SO very GRATEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No music, just nature. Grew up in northwest wa by the canadian border and these forest sounds are so embedded in my brain - sounds like home.

Am I using a walker? I don't remember a relaxing walk in the forest being this slow. This is more like stalking prey. Or scanning for an ambush.

Im from washington but am currently stuck living in the desert. Im getting very depressed being away from the trees and nature i love, so while i prepare to move back, this is keeping me sane. Thank you! ❤
