@2Strokes_N_Toyotas I'm going to continue experimenting with methods but so far I discovered a pull scraper works a lot better than a push scraper and letting the water soak for a much longer period of time (several hours) is working really well. I have to sand them no matter what this is just the preliminary round to get the thick adhesive off.

@4by_yotaguy373 I would never use an air powered chisel on 120 year old oak floors. And scraping it one flake at a time like that would take years. Gotta have a better strategy.

@fluxcapacitor1621 This won't make your engine run worse. It's only function is to send air to the intake on a cold start when you are at idle. Once your engine is at operating temperature this valve closes and serves no further engine performance functions. As I mentioned in the video if you delete it you may need to apply a bit of gas pedal to keep the throttle plate slightly open while the engine warms up if it's cold outside since you no longer have the auxiliary air passage this valve provides. A malfunctioning valve especially one stuck open at operating temp could negatively effect engine performance. Thus deleting it may be a good option for some who cannot repair or afford to replace it. @4by_yotaguy373 Oh yeah. It's very very common. It was I guess a way to be more heat efficient and to cover up broken/cracked plaster over the years when as people stopped caring about their properties and the skills to do it become lost to time.

@natalied989 I love good plaster work! But you're right it's getting harder to find ppl willing to do it. Are you guys going to perform plaster repairs, or patch in drywall?

@4by_yotaguy373 The ceiling under the drop ceiling was already drywall. I pulled that down and we will put up new drywall. If we come across plaster that needs repair and it's salvageable we will repair.

@4by_yotaguy373 I bought some this summer. Haven't put them on yet but one side ofnthe trim already fell off cuz that 3M tape sucks. I'll probably do the clips in spring.

@natalied989 Interesting. I've spent yrs in a body shop using 3M double-sided tape on emblems, moldings, spoilers, side skirts, body kits, and never had any problem. There's a couple different kinds, but the black one is hardcore. 💪

@4by_yotaguy373 No vests lol. But it's not a bad idea. I did order a back pack for my kid a few years ago with a ballistic plate in it. I paid super extra extra for the lightweight one that is still rated to actually stop a bullet so she wasn't lugging around a 9lb back pack. Then they stopped letting the kids carry back packs all together. I half joked that I was just going to buy her a vest if they won't let her carry a back pack. I probably should have gotten her one.

@@inspectyourgadget2485 Nope. Hardly any rust. And it's been a Michigan Truck for probably 10 years. IDK when it got here but originally came from California. It's holding up good.

Michigander myself. Near impossible to keep them rust free. Keep it out of the salt!

@inspectyourgadget2485 I do am undercariage treatment with marine grease and wool wax once a year in fall and really go crazy with it. It's staved off any new rust underneath since I got it in 2022. It's a couple hours and we'll worth the effort. I did a video about 2 months ago about the Wool wax.

@dadgarage7966 LOL. I'll usually just stand on the ground and push things in as far as I can if I'm in public. When I've pushed as much as I can push, the rest piles in the front seat.

@liveoak7838 I did take everything apart already and replaced all the bearings and races I just didn't get around to putting the knuckles and axles back together before the snow and cold came cuz I was trying to get the alignment tool. I know I can just put it back together with the shims the way it was when I took it apart but IDK if the person who did it before me did it right so I dont want to just copy them. The oil seals already failed and had to be replaced (the whole reason I started this project) so I didn't want to misalign the axle and cause early failure and excess wear again. So I wanted the Toyota knuckle alignment tool but couldn't. And now here we are.

@Vriz541 It's 28 degrees out. I think I missed my window trying to get that stupid tool. Hoping for a break into the 40s soon so I can finish. If not I'll just have to bundle up and bravery it I suppose. All I have to do is put everything back together and make the adjustments so hopefully it should go smoothly. @dsydlik The 84 doesn't have any. Didnt come with any and I haven't gotten around to getting any. The 87 has a combo of 2016 Honda Accord and 99 4Runner mats which I took out of my previous cars before I sold them lol. They are not a great fit but the 99 4runner bed mat is a nice covering for the rear and fits good. Ive been keeping my eye on ebay for OEM but they are the holy grail. The only ones I ever see are Hilux it seems and they aren't the right shape. So unfortunately I don't know first hand but I've heard some people say 1st gen Tacoma ones from weather tech are a decent fit.

I definitely did the bricks with a rough/imperfect finish because I thought it looked more like real old bricks would look. They turned out just how I wanted. I was definitely going for a whimsical look also. Like a Mr. Roger's Neighborhood vibe. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. But I still think mine was better.

@@4by_yotaguy373 LOL. It's technically edible but it would not be pleasant to eat. It's construction grade dough so it's literally hard as a rock. It probably tastes good though. It has sugar and spices in it but you'd probably break a tooth. I do smash them though when I'm done. Especially the losers.

also says pin 3 (yellow/black) is oil pressure and pin 4 (green/red) back door unlocked warning light

@liveoak7838 when I follow the copper tracing from the water temp gage to the connector it is the number 6 slot. The 84 might be a little different than the 85. It doesnt have a check engine light so maybe the wiring is different. I know the 85s have a lot more electronic components with the EFI and such. Do you have a hard copy of the 85 manual or a PDF?

@@natalied989 I have both forms of 85 manual. would be happy to share the pdf. I have a hard time from the video to see that it is in the number 6 slot on the cluster. looks like 7 to me. Looking at your blue plug, it appears your yellow/green temp wire is in pin 8 and your violet wire is in pin 6. I think they both need to move one slot over towards the other 2 wires so they occupy pins 5 and 7.
