Everything we learn in Varlamore Part 1 | OSRS Lore
มุมมอง 1.6K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Basking in the golden light of the sun, we’ve had a lot of fun within the shining kingdom - and though I covered the initial story of Varlamore of everything we knew at the time in a video I released last year, it’s worth taking a look at what lore we’ve discovered here. The only lore I won’t cover is the Perilous Moons lore, as I’ve got a dedicated video for that that I’ll link in the descript...
The Lore Behind Perilous Moons

The Hidden Isles of Gielinor
มุมมอง 7K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Gielinor holds many secrets. Many treasures. Many inaccessible areas that we can simply gaze at, something as simple as this ritual site or even something as bold as the black void that fills out Menaphos. But in today’s video we’re looking at something off the mainland. Get your sea legs on and join me as we find out about the hidden isles of Gielinor. Special thank you to my YT Member(s): Cam...
The ENTIRE History of Old School RuneScape... So far. | OSRS Lore
มุมมอง 67K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
In light of Old School Runescape’s 11th anniversary, I wanted to make a special video that went over and celebrated the deep and rich history of the world of Gielinor. One that has a fractured timeline, in the form of Runescape 3, but Old School Runescape’s story, while varying a bit in the more modern-day, gives us amazing world-building. It all adds up to a lot of scattered information, so le...
The Lore Behind the Dwarves
มุมมอง 1.6K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Titans of smithing and the minecart industry, Dwarves are one of the many races to inhabit Gielinor. they are mainly found in Keldagrim, their capital city and the city of Lovakengj on Great Kourend, they’re also present in various mines and settlements all across Gielinor, harbouring no hate for anyone… well, apart from the Red Axe. Thanks for watching and I hope you guys enjoy the video - thi...
The Lore of Xeric the Betrayer
มุมมอง 3K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you decide to travel west of the mainland kingdoms of Gielinor, you’ll come across an entirely different continent: Zeah. On this land, a collection of different ruling houses forms the Kingdom of Great Kourend - and though there is a relative peace, that wasn’t the case for its entire existence. This tale is about a mage named Xeric and How did he rise to power, to ultimately, lose it all? ...
The Story of the Gnomes
มุมมอง 2.3K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Not gnelfs, not gnoblins, but one of the oldest and most concentrated races on Gielinor, Gnomes have seen their empire crumble and fall to rise up again, seeing wonders of culture and technology slip away from their grasp to be replaced with gnome ball and the gnome restaurant. What exactly are their origins, and what are they up to now? Sorry for the delay in videos, fell ill and life has been...
The Mystery behind Xau-Tak and the Shadow Realm
มุมมอง 2.4K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
“Do you really think you can save them?” is a question that likely perplexed everyone when doing Desert Treasure 2. Succumbing to the silent choir, waking up to be surrounded by multiple copies of yourself, taunting you endlessly. All ending with that one question…. Do you really think you can save them? Had a lot of fun making this video and delving into what Xau-Tak is, and I hope this helps ...

Old School Runescape's Next Big Quest?
มุมมอง 17K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Varlamore quests aside, OSRS is bracing itself for some big quests in the future. From the plethora of quests that exist in Runescape 3, there have been a great number of hints about future quests in Old School - so in today's video rather than looking at lore in the past, we’re going to ponder… What is Old School Runescape’s next big quest? I'm also in the process of getting a new mic soon so ...

8:21 now I want a quest that enables us to explore the pre-detonated Zarosian empire.
Never disappoint man you do such great work
You can say whatever you wish about Runescape. But one thing you can not say is that the lorewriters and questdesigners have any kind of restraint. They dare to go to the dark places where lesser storywriters would not ever tread, creating some of the most harrowing, gut wrenching stories ive ever had the pleasure to play through in a Videogame. This goes both for OSRS and RS3
I have one demiboss fight left....
Super well made video. Thanks for the work you put into it!
Love your vids!!!!
this was great
Great vid
Great vid keep up the good work!
We need a Vampyre Slayer 2
Vampire quest line spoilers After the events of sins of the father if there was ever a Vampyre Slayer II it would have to be the final quest of the entire vampyre series as the Drakans have been dying starting from draynor to Ranis, maybe it’ll be a quest where unlike the others the adventurer fights malak, Lowerniel, and maybe his sister all by himself maybe with the assistance of Ivan
drinking a whole keg of beer would cause lethal water poisoning even without the alcohol so its still impressive that our characters can do that
such great videos man
What if all of the grandmaster quests are leading up to the one grand finale in some way?
I’m so happy to see lore videos on RuneScape man! I always thought that whoever started doing lore videos would have such a big channel! This was my first video of yours I’ve watched and immediately subscribed with notifications on as well! Man I’m hooked on all these lore videos and I hope you don’t give up if this is something you want to do! I’ll be here for you I’ve played this game since 2013 and love it just as much as I did back then!
MOAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love remaining a regular, normal adventurer <3 thats what Runescape gets right over all other RPGs
oh shit, we doing runescape lore? I don't play OS, but I'll listen to a British dude talk about RS
We really need Vampyre Salyer 2!!
Babe, wake up! there's a new GravityBind's video about lore!
Finally!
Underated TH-camr!!!
ooo do a shdow realm video!
Out of inrtest, you ever thoguht of doing lore comparison between RS & OSRS. Great vid as always!
That's a good idea! Will need to get it added to the drawing board and plan something!
@@Gravitybind Its quite similar actually. Obviously the quests play out somewhat differently, and the gods did not return in OSRS. Yet for most parts the background is quite identical.
First thing I listen to when I wake up w vid man
I wonder how Araxxor is going to fit into the Nyalocas lore. Also I think there is going to a new Runescape book coming out soon that gives a bit more insights to the vampyres, the fall of Hallowvale and could talk more about the nyalocas. I think it should be Runescape 3 and OSRS compatible from the way Jagex was advertising it. I haven't finished Gift of Guthix, which focuses on the early days of the fifth age where runecrafting was starting to become more established but apart from some year-date inaccuracies, I guess you could chalk it up to the idea that the fifth age was not "concepted" yet compared to the fourth age during the events of the book, it doesn't seem to be too contradictory to the OSRS lore so far. Have you had the chance to read it?
It should be interesting! I haven't had a chance to read it yet, only recently bought it myself but looking forward to it. Will be nice to have a more expanded view on the fifth age - and the new book should be really good, I enjoy the Vampyre lore a lot. Something that intrigues me a lot is how Drakan went back to Vampyrium to hunt Xarpus, so I hope that'll be expanded on a little bit. (I don't have much knowledge on the RS3 storyline, but I think the player gets to go there at some point? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
@@Gravitybind I think you go into a castle in Vampyrium, you don't explore the surroundings as far as I aware. Xarpus is not in RS3, because in OSRS he is also an Easter egg reference to how the Vampyres look like in RS3 with their giant bat foreheads, but there is still a chance that he may get mentioned. The current look for Draken and the rest of the vyres represent their true form in OSRS.
Oh wonderful! Haven’t had one in a while. Great to listen to at work at 04:00 in the morning.
Hope you enjoy! Yeah the video schedules been delayed a bit due to life but, still getting those lore vids out!
Fellow 4am work time listener here
@@youngmachine haha nice. I’m on call 24/7 for the next 3 weeks.
I'd actually be interested in hearing more about how the two timelines diverge!
I want One Small Favor pt 2
I absolutely need them to bring the rest of the vampire story from rs3 to osrs
Such a touching video. If only we had known those were the good old days. It is impossible to replicate that magic. The yearning for it is so strong; RuneScape was truly an unforgettable experience for me. We can always return to RuneScape, but it will never be as it once was.
Twenty's plenty
One interesting thing that someone else pointed out is that the stone of jaz may be the giant dodecahedron used in the moons of peril dungeon (Neypotzli) to keep the moons imprisoned, and that this is also the artifact known as the Fist of Guthix. So it might come into play, which could be interesting
it has many names. The fist of Guthix, the Eye of Saradomin, which is honestly super awesome and adds to the mystery.
remember that God gave our rights as beings on the Earth, not mortals.
some dragons choose to live among humans. my family are among such. we desire the best for mankind, and will not that humans should try to remove other humans' rights, through underhanded tactics and deals behind closed doors usually... like the cowards that try to enslave and off the slaves, should they become almost strong enough to fight back, like the history that repeats itself on the Earth. these cowards, with their ballgames, hiding truth, and forcing laws that deny rights every now and then... my ancestors fought for the right to read the bible for yourself. now the very right to read the bible at all is threatened. may we try to overthrow such government as this, which did this...
the monsters from Gielinor might just outnumber us within a few decades alone. on Earth.
we brought the mind-spike back from Gielinor, and in a fit of fear and rage, i broke the mind-spike in two in front of my older brother... i felt it explode with power. i now know why it exploded with such violent power... the destruction wasn't possible for the power of the air magic in the magic staff mind-spike, it rebounded, and settled into the nearest thing it could find, which was me. now i have myself to fear. i fear my newly found power... i fear utilizing it, even for good purposes. it is a forbidden thing for a Christian to have magic coursing through them. i'm cursed to forever bear the power to change elements, air, water, earth, fire... from element to element, and control them, like a wizard of the elements, and of Gielinor. along with being resurrected early, and having an eternal being, i'm not even able to die and pass on the elements to anyone, save it to my offspring. the game RuneScape is about a real place... don't take the lore lightly. it's actually real, and has its place in our world as well. i've seen and heard too much to believe otherwise about this matter. i'm trying to give people here a heads up... Gielinor is already a part of the world we live in. we only have so much we can do to keep from takeover, and abandonment. if you really want to know what i'm talking about; haven't any of you noticed what happens in dark corners, or other obscure areas of a room or hallway? have you ever heard whispers, or other things in the corridors of your common stores or homes? ever hear a rustle, then find someone came out of one of those dark corridors, only to discover the corridor they came out of was a battlefield for the moment? do you know what it looks like in a battlefield? it always has bodies, and if you see giant bats offed, or rats the size of your common big house dogs... and they're offed by someone that looks strange? that's probably someone from Gielinor, or inspired by the place. there's a constant, ongoing battle, between the seen... and the unseen worlds. Gielinor is a part of the unseen worlds, there are monsters here, from there. i've seen it. i've experienced it. if you've ever seen this stuff, would you deny it? you don't want to be a liar, do you? am i not right? Gielinor is real. along with many other worlds. wake up.
2 quests left, sins of the father and DT2. Just done perilous moons. LETS GET IT
literally got a snack, drink and slapped this on my second monitor.
I would betray the entire falador knight order for 60k agility xp
one small favour for one monk. Banger
Not sure how spoiler-y content flies in these comments for those unfamiliar with rs3, but for the curious among you, as soon as I heard Elias White I immediately made a connection to an rs3 npc named Ali the Wise. No doubt they will play similar roles going forward.
The name checks out :^)
While Guthix Sleeps? You mean Tears of Guthix 2?
The god who created everything we know and ever will know. The third day he went to sleep because he was bored out of hes mind. He created a dream that was so realistic he would forget everything he had ever known. Thinking that the dream was reality and aslong he doesn't wake up he doesn't even know he is a god. Why do games always steal them old stories just one on one, they don't even try to hide it in anyway. Jagex the worst game designer to have ever walked this earth.
The thing that OSRS will be different to RS3 is that the quest will play out similarly, but the end-goal will be slightly different. In OSRS there's no active plot to bypass Guthix's Edicts (Well the plot exists, but it will be foiled every step of the way) Sliske I wager in OSRS is fully loyal to Gielinor - And not holding a twisted bastard of loyalty between the Elder Gods and himself I wager the OSRS is working *very* hard to not make Sliske into the Mary Sue the RS3 team made him into.
Well, given what i know about Rs3 the return of Zaros has already been foiled by him. He did destroy the Barrows Icon afterall, which was instrumental in contacting him in Rs3, so thats one piece of the puzzle permanently missing.
Great video and thanks for the recap

Random factoid, Desert Treasure 1 was made by a intern, who got fired for Desert Treasure 1. Originally, instead of a mysterious stranger attacking you with a Dragon dagger(p++) while carrying any of the diamonds, a Fanatical stranger would attack you. He would run up to you with the prayer Retribution turned on, yell “Allahu akbar Zamorak!” then kill himself triggering the Retribution prayer…. Yes you would be attacked by a suicide bomber. This was in 2005, less than 4 years after 9/11
"It's not like he's going to stay dead" in reference to General Khazard... LOL! And "he introduces us to Ancient Magicks... A PKers wet dream" lmfao 😂😂 Great video brotha, subscribed :D
all the slayer masters are toast sad times
Your videos are awesome man, I’ve been enjoying them a lot. What is your process for finding lore? I’ve been mostly a space bar holder when it comes to quests aside from a few interesting story lines but I’d like to work on my lorehound skills!
Thank you! Really appreciate the support. A lot of the lore is dialogue based honestly but theres books in-game that have a lot of tales from other parts of Gielinor. An example is the bookshelf in the Myth's guild, you can find six books there of varying stories but it was initially there where we found out about Varlamore's backstory with Imafore's betrayal. And I need to mention the Wiki aswell, of course - probably the best fountain of information you could have
