Your videos just keep getting better and better! Thanks. It was a great one to watch.
Thank you my friend, I’m really glad you enjoyed it. Hope to get with you soon.
Strong effort!
Yup…it will take a strong effort to get in there.
Great exploration video Ernie! Looks like you and your son had fun. Good gold hunting! Be safe. Take care.
Thank you! Yes, all the area’s were new to us. We will need to revisit some spots again as there were more to it than meets the eye. Take care my Brother.
Good looking kid you have there!!
Yup, takes after his dad 🤣😂 Happy Mother’s Day 🤗
awesome...!!!
Looks like fun!
awesome...!!!
Great video Ernie! I learned something new! Thank you and God bless! Good gold hunting! Take care.
Thank you my Brother. It’s always fun to learn something new in something we love doing. Take care and God bless you.
Hi Ernie, very good information. I think I'm going to try to build one following your tips. Cheers!
That’s Great Grant! There is one adjustment that I need to make, and one that you should apply to your furnace. And that would be putting the propane torch sleeve into the furnace at 45° angle. In doing that, it will create a circular flame that will go completely around the Cupel, and hopefully that will allow some oxygen to get into the prill so the lead prill will oxidize. I am going to make that adjustment on my next Cupelling.
Thank you for sharing Ernie, Great content as always.
Thank you my Brother! Keep getting that Gold!
Good job Ernie. Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you Steve, I appreciate your kind words. Take care.
Hi AU family!!!!! I live near Silver Springs do you take reservations and payment for gold adventires with you? How do we get a chance to go with you?
Hi Stephanie, there are no reservations or fees. When I can make the time to go to Gold Canyon I can contact you and if your schedule allows we can go at that time. JB doesn’t need to work so he’s basically always free to go. Do you have and gold panning gear?
I m really excited that you are so close and are willing to take people .
@@stephanietorres5406 It will be enjoyable. Who will be coming with you?
Another first class video. Great job!
Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind words! Maybe one day all of us together along with JB can work on some of your material from your mine. That would be fun!
@@ErnieDionne Let's do it!
@@themahoneymine Great, please let me know when we can work out the details. I think it would be great to be at your place with your materials and I can bring my things and we both can shoot our content.
Nice video Ernie! Be safe in there. The danger was the loose rock slabs overhead. They look like they are ready to fall with just a sneeze! Good gold hunting! Take care and God bless.
Great content!
Thank you my Brother!
Hi Ernie and Jonathon. Thanks for showing the wonderful mining history of your area. I love looking at all of the mineralization you see in the shafts... I too wonder the same things (what did they find, why did they stop,) etc. Another really well produced video. Cheers!
Thank you very much Grant! A lot of work happened here back in the day. Several days ago I spoke with the Old Timer Joey and showed him both those mines. He didn’t have any history on them, but he told me of one shaft that I’m familiar with and that is very close to the Sketchy Mine and it is surrounded by a very tall chain link fence that produced gold. He told me when Hans Lund retired their friends would go and pull out gold from that shaft. Well, you know me, I’m going to check it out and see if there is anyway possible for me to get inside there 😜 I hope you and your crew can make it out here one day.
Thanks again for another great presentation!
Another great video. Great job explaining the process.
Thank you Grant! It’s really enjoyable!
Nice work Ernie. Nice demo of the miller table. Good gold hunting! Take care.
Thank you! I appreciate it. How’s that trommel coming along. It’s a great project you have 💙
@@ErnieDionne I’m currently building the sluice box and discharge chutes for it. I’ll get another video out soon. God bless you.
@@SilvasSmallMining that’s great, I can’t wait to see it!
Great job getting that Au fam. Cool setup indeed 😃. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Thank you my Brother, take care.
Did they dry ok? Any idea how to dry them faster?
Hi, yes, they dried good after a couple of days. You can dry them faster by baking them in the oven. Overall it’s not cost effective to DIY. They are much cheaper buying both Bone Ash and Mabor cupels in bulk. I just purchased 728 #5 cupels from Legends Inc for $86.10. Each #5 cupels will absorb 19.8 grams of lead. I hope this helps.
@ErnieDionne the first ones I made crumbled apart very easy. Not sure what I'm doing wrong
@@jimbob6063able That’s interesting. It may have been too dry when you made them? Mine were wetter than I wanted, but they dried fine and worked well.
@@ErnieDionne I'll keep at it! Thanks
@@jimbob6063able Good luck Brother. I subscribed to your channel. We are looking into getting a drone for prospecting and could use your insight and wisdom. Thank you.
Way to blow up the spot
That's one sketchy mine!
My fav. Video yet. I would love to know the exact history. Was their other houses for that large water tower? Can you research in library? Absoultley BEAUTIFUL!!!
That’s the only house there on that spot. There are a few other structures to the south, but I didn’t recognize a home. It’s really peaceful there. I’m glad it’s your favorite.
Love the blue sky
It was really beautiful
How did that title not bring in the views?😂
lol, Thanks Tara, about two weeks prior I had the first episode titled, “The Legend Of Asshole Mountain.”
Awesome community you’re building! Can’t wait to get some gear and join y’all!
Thanks Marcus, High Plains Prospector and Amazon works for me with the gear. We’ll see you soon and get that AU.
Great job all around fam. Great day out there. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠⛏️🏔️🇺🇲
Yes Sir my good AU Brother
Great video Ernie. JB, you're a movie star! Good seeing you again.
Thank you my AU Brother
Thank you for sharing Ernie , great video . I'd like to make it out west sometime in my life.
You’re welcome Dusty, that would be great if you made it here. I’m glad you got gold in your panning. Keep making your videos my AU Brother.
Nice seeing you guys out there once again nice video and see you guys out there.
Let’s do it, it’ll be fun! It was a pleasant surprise for you to stop by. We have some nice weather here now.
Thanks for the invite Ernie. We'll be back!
Yes Sir, I’m looking forward to it!
Really good content Ernie. Looks like you both did really well. I look forward to coming up your way to meet and maybe prospect with you and the Au family. You would also be welcome to come down to spend some time prospecting in my area. Cheers!
That sounds like a plan Grant! I’ll be nice!
Nice work Ernie! I’m glad other AU brothers are joining in the fun and supporting one another. Good gold hunting!! God bless! Take care.
Thank you my AU Brother, I hope that you can join us one day, it’ll be fun! Blessings on you!
Another amazing video! Great job. If you want to explore unknown local drifts look us up. We have all the gas monitors and ppe to take. Good job.
Great job again Ernie! Thanks for taking the time to bring us along.
Thank you and Thanks for coming along. It’d be boring by myself.
Ernie you have such a nice way! Really love your delivery and great videos! Dan Brent
Thank you Dan, I appreciate your kind words!
Great video Ernie. Be careful going into the old drift mines. There are many dangers that you must be aware of. Bad air is one that most people forget about. Good gold hunting. God be with you. Take care.
Thank you my Brother, I appreciate your advice, I really never thought about the air in that one. I will in the next one.
That portal was 90% covered up. It took me an hour to dig it out. You can see the fresh dirt along the downslope inside the portal. I believe the portal was covered by the material falling from outside above the portal. I had to dig it out the last time I was there but not nearly as much.
My understanding is that the white material leaching from the rocks is either natural salt or some form of calcite. It is a natural process of erosion. The more of that material that escapes the natural rock, the faster the rock will decompose. This could explain why there are so many rockfalls. Another very interesting video. Cheers!
I believe your correct on the calcite! Great insight my Brother!
Are you able to get any history on places like this mine ? Just curious
@@billoc1255 I’m going to check with a couple of old timers. This mine is off the path and very hard to see because one would have to drop down into the portal as you can see in the video. It took me several minutes to find it and I knew it was there 😂
How many hours for how much gold?? :-( I think I will stick with other methods.. lol Great job on the vid tho.
Hello, this tailings pile was a waste of time. There really wasn’t much gold in it. I won’t be going back there. Thank you for taking time to view this episode, I appreciate it and your comment. Have fun getting your gold 🤗
Hey Ernie! Do you ever find any lode specimens in Gold Creek or mostly fines?
Mostly fines like in my videos. My son and my friend Kyle have found small nuggets. No lode at all, not even in the mines…yet 🤗
I really like your process. Makes me want to start collecting ore samples from the club claim I visit. Cheers!
Thank you Grant! It’s a work in progress. I really need to organize my place more than anything else, can you tell 😂
Looking good indeed fam. Keep on having fun and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠⛏️🏔️🇺🇲
Yes Sir, let’s keep on doing it 💪🏻
They sure went through a lot of trouble to make that wall... something must have been worth all that work...has me wondering!
You and me both!
I'm surprised that BLM hasn't closed it up
It must be safe…I’ll find out soon enough.
Love the videos! What is the purpose of the re-bar during the melt?
The lead rebar helps the Litharge (lead oxide) do its job in collecting the metals into the lead prill. I apologize for the late reply.
@ErnieDionne No worries at all! I see you have been busy. That is very interesting, thank you. 😊
@@BK-zy6lw You’re welcome my friend
Hey Brother there's always a chance that you found the old foundry or somewhere where they used to roast or sometimes the gold ore is so microscopic that you can't see it but it's there
Thank you my AU Brother, here’s the link to what this place is, “The Dayton Lime Works.” th-cam.com/video/VwiOSaWakMo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HgJREt-UL6MBb4k5 I deeply appreciate your input. If there are any other places of interests that you know of please share them. We have individuals who are interested in knowing these areas, and I am one 🤗
I always did very similar but just used a 4 gallon inside the 5 gallon since the tops were the same it wouldn't fall in so no need to have the pvc in the bottom.
Very nice Joshua 👍🏻 I like it.
Man looks STONED.... More power to ya.
lol maybe 40 years ago 🤣
