    Single cylinder engines are fine. What you’ve got is a Kohler Courage which is notorious for being a junk engine. They are garbage engines. Thin block castings that crack when the crankcase bolts get loose and get broken off by the flywheel, crappy plastic camshafts, blown head gaskets, and bad starters just to name a few issues. But it’s predecessor was the Kohler Command single cylinders with hydraulic lifters were excellent engines. They could run forever. Single cylinder engines that are below 16 HP seem to be fine, but anything above it and they always seem to have more problems. It’s better to have a twin cylinder for anything above 16 HP.

      I have a Craftsman LT2000 42" deck with a single pot 17hp Kohler, never given me any trouble. I also don't abuse it, got a fairly small flat yard and I hardly ever use it to push or haul stuff. It'll handle small hills no problem but it's not fast or torquey in stock form. I once brought it to my brother's house to mow his yard when he moved in and it didn't have enough power for his steep hill. He bought a Toro zero-turn, a lower end 42" deck with a 25hp (I think, can't remember) twin cylinder and it has plenty of torque for the hill.

    This is an '87 model. The '88 RM250 was a one-year bike then in '89 it was almost a yellow Honda because Hannah played a huge part in the design and he loved the Hondas.

    Thanks Jordan, this video is very helpful. My kids said our Cub Cadet LTX 1046 KW V-Twin HydroStatic was not starting so I initially thought starter or bad battery. I noticed when I tried to jump start it a noise was coming from under the seat where the battery is located. I'm assuming it is the solenoid and will try bypassing it next. I am jealous of your clean and spacious garage! :)

    Got a couple questions, my dad picked up a 1980's truck camper and the 2 interior lights are not turning on as well as the outside light that is by the handle it has a little button you can push next to it, we checked the bulbs, I checked all the fuses, I can hear a buzzing sound when it's plugged in and on 110 and both outlets work, I'm stumped. Second question how do we hook the exterior lights up to our truck I see a small round plug that's hanging for the lights but I don't think I've ever seen it before, maybe I just need an adapter? Thanks and nice video.

    I certainly cannot see how having only four inches of ground clearance could ever be a possible advantage. That certainly looks daft to me. You'd never be able to crest even a modestly paved hill around here. This must be a strictly Flatlander product placement commercial. That thing couldn't even make it out to my closest asphalt let alone survive our local interstate. No one could drive anywhere with that thing strapped to the bottom of their truck.

    • @icanthavenicethings5995
      @icanthavenicethings5995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I see why you’d think that as I did at first but it really doesn’t bottom out often maybe twice in 50000 miles. This thing is not meant for off-road use obviously but it can easily be driven anywhere any normal vehicle can go and not think twice. I live in the hills of Kentucky we don’t have what you would call nice roads 😂

    Same year same side issue plus when removing both sides the bushing came out of shock bottoms and had to chisel race and rubber bushing off of spindle. Used copper antiseize and installed new ones. Pass side is exposed ro side of road spray. Drivers side wasn't bad but replace in pairs. Thanks for video. I don't feel like the only one now. 👍

    Hi, Hi MR, I.C.A.N.T I hope you or a reader can you answer my questions ? My mother has your same exact vehicle (2005, Toyota Corolla) I would like to feel the pride doing the part swap myself. My First question @ 6:05 the first nut that was removed the 19mm, Volt you used and impact wrench, since I don’t have that tool with the air tank I plan on Using a Tube over lapping the ½ wrench with the 19mm for more leverage, will this work and can would using it for the 14 mm bolt placed from down up in the chassis work as well.

    So if the cap goes through the top lip like yours (and mine currently), is the only option to cut the spring? I would think if the cap is still bigger than the opening it will not come back down through it even with the spring cut and pulling hard like you did.
