In 1984, when the Alcatrazz album was released; my entire life was turned upside down! all of a sudden, every thing I played was Yngwie style shred. 😹 He absolutely broke me, but still to this day inspires me. Another great video, Ben 🤘🏼😸🤘🏼
My fingers must be drunk. I only wish I could pick with accuracy like that.
I guess this settles the Tele vs Les Paul debate.
I've been waiting for this one! Magnificent bastard, aren't you? lol
Ferocity is off the charts but that is no reason to flip us off...
So many memories! Your videos are so damned inspiring and entertaining. You are killin' it, with your channel. I'm here for it, man 🤘🏼😸🤘🏼
Bro you are a shred demon!
Are you hoping to one day… be allowed to play indoors? 😂
time and time again i think - you can't make vid more epic (and joyful at the same time) than this. and booom! next vid completely blows my mind and leaves me speechless. again! respect man! and thanks for the fun of tackling these iconic tunes in minimalistic-set-up approach, really lookin forward to try that one for sure!
I’d feel the same if I was sat In front of a camera talking. No need to apologise or feel like you’re rambling. People are watching because it’s more conversational style content. 🤘👊✌️
damnnn that intro was fire such clean picking like nuno. it feels u had a dotted delay on there
For fuck sake, dude is so precise with his picking that he plays delay without a delay pedal
He keeps reaching for a trem bar that isn't there😂😂😂😂 this is fukn bad ass dude
I had to try out that riff when I got off work. That is insanely fun to play that way. I highly recommend trying it.
Badass, Ben. Gilmour's down-picking is actually ridiculous in how much he got out of it vs. how people perceived his riffs and guitar parts and learned them accordingly. I contend that Gilmour, Hendrix and Ed are probably the three guys who improved everybody's overall technique by writing simple yet smoothly complicated riffs that people kinda overlearned lol. Jimmy Page is the opposite in terms of people learning sharply applied guitar playing via swagger and looseness (the 'Page is sloppy' narrative that gets often misread)
Ace
That tele sounds mean. What bridge pup is that?
That sounded awesome instead of delay
Your album needs a Gilmore inspired track or four… love your take on his playing!
That's awesome, I did something similar with Slash's intro to Welcome To The Jungle.
Dude, your videos are covering all my favourite guitarists. What do you think of Mike Oldfield? He's one of my heroes, but I never thought he got the recognition he deserved. Just listen to his shredding in Ommadawn!
“Shred Like Hell.” 😂
One of the favourite episodes
Damn, it man you’re good. I wish my alternate picking was this good.
Its called practice!
practice, practice, practissssss....
Yeah, you got a nice pick attack--I noticed that instantly. Yeah, it's not just about striking the string. it's about doing so with precision and control at any volume so you can really control the accents and dynamics. It’s fascinating to see where we all draw our musical education from. I’ve come to believe that if you have a musical mind, you’ll find a way to learn and develop it, no matter the path.
That poor guitar 😂, cheers Ben 👍
just like a white wing dove?
🔥🔥🔥
Shine On and Still got the Blues you have identified the 2 greatest non shred guitar nerd solos of all time
Did the exact same. Drove everybody nuts
I love David Gilmour, he is one of my favorite guitarists out there. Please make a video about Gary Moore!
100% Gary Moore next!!!
💯💯💯
A video about Gary Moore would be great. For me one of the most complete rock/blues musicians that ever existed. And of course, one of the best guitar players/singers in the world...
@@dorianponcela9680 absolutely, not many guitarists can make the guitar cry like Gary Moore
Gilmour, Knopfler and Gary Moore are my three fav guitarists! It's great to see Ben pay attention to Gilmour: he's not worlds fastest or most technical guitarist: but I don't care: Gilmour is special because he makes/made the greatest melodies with only simple scales: it proves he's a musical genius. Gary Moore? Simply great. The biggest rival of Eddie van Halen in the 80s, but I think more versatile. Moore played blues, jazz, rock, metal, etc. Listen to "The Messiah will come again", live in Montreux. Wow.....
Very funny intro yes i had all the pink floyd albums love feedback on my original guitar compositions
Ben,у тебя мощный,агрессивный стиль игры на гитаре.Супер убойное звукоизвлечение.У тебя есть планы снимать джемовые импровизации?Я думаю ты можешь взорвать гитарный Ютуб!🎸🔥
🥰
So this is an honest question, I mean no shade, but, are you on cocaine or no?
I can totally relate .........was totally turned off by the s/t Satriani after being a massive fan and later somewhat came to appreciate it. Would still take any of the earler albums though.
👏🏼
Thank you for the videos
Hi Ben, which guitar pick do you use all the time?
Ole diarrhea fingers himself. After you get over the fascination of how many notes he's cramming into every measure, you become numb to it. It becomes less musical and more like a self indulgent show off spectacle where he keeps pulling out the same 'show stoppers' over and over until you're bored. A good friend of mine, excellent guitarist eventually figured Malmsteen out, he could play ANY and everything he ever did and eventually came to the conclusion that Malsteen was annoying at best. I find Vito Bratta more intriguing and in many ways, more nuanced and difficult to play.
I first heard Yngwie through Guitar Techniques magazine. Shawn Baxter did a series on him and I was hooked.
Yngwie is so influential. All the best players took something from him.
Any friend of Pete is a friend of mine! The room mic is a nice change of pace. See you at the gym!
EVH may have heard Schenker do blistering fast Snarling Dog way back on Queen of the Deep (1974) and other early UFO moments. Maybe even earlier...
I think the ramblings, the more "honest" and live approach are the things why I watch your videos. Keeping it real 👍👍 I was a bit late on YJM because I started playing in the late 90's and listening to more prog rock but I actually found Al Di Meola first and his alternate picking in the whole Elegant Gypsy record broke me and then inspired me. Then came McLaughlin and YJM. Yngwies first album is still the best. What a sound and frasing. 🔥🔥
You play better than Yngwie these days, and i am sure that he knows you seeing TH-cam! 😮
Total guitar 😂 fond memories. I get burnt out sometime, not because I feel like quitting but because I feel like no matter how much I practise I never get build up the speed and comfort. I try my best to just ignore it and keep practicing. Just spend a moth getting my shit head squier to play nice so now I’m determined to develop my chops.
SOUNDING GOOD!~
Straight 🔥my bro... Love the picking style
You need some George Lynch on your channel!
