Ben, thank you for putting the passion back, for me with guitar. I can relate to your story. I’m excited for what’s in store on this channel this coming year, I’m gonna be right along side practicing, playing, listening, and learning. Don’t apologize for rambling. PD
Mate!! So glad Iv found your channel. Your playing is jaw dropping. So ferocious!! It’s great to see someone playing from the same era as me and your doing it live in the room with no cut and paste edits! Keep doing that!! The fact you and Rick are going to be collaborating is exiting too. A modern day Cacophony/Racer X. Can’t wait. Thanks for returning.
There’s no need for any other guy here since Ben came up. I love the point that he gained his experience from times where the stuff actually happened …. Every story from the past hits me so hard , because it’s similar to my learning experience from that time. Obviously his level is insane …. Could watch this all day … his sense of humour is great also
Do us all a favour Ben and don't apologise for anything you're doing ...You're raw , real, genuine and a complete player !!...Please stay that way, the world of the Tube is going to see you and recognise you for the real player and the real deal that you are .
Awesome content dude the mighty Mr Rick Graham turned me on to your channel but it was my friend Q (the phenomenal luthier James from Agrajag Guitars) that informed he how good you are. You are inspiring sir if I can be half as good as you I’ll be happy 🤘🤘
Hey Ben, you should totally try the Jim Dunlop flow picks. They sound right up your street they are pretty much indestructible and I think the 1.5 is the perfect pick.
"Keep the passion alive"...Safe to say Ben you are one of the reasons my passion for my guitar is not only alive but KICKING at the moment. [playing for 30 years this year!] Great content, always look forward to seeing you shredding the hell out that tele...
I relate, I consciously planned to stop playing for 6/7 years too, I stored my main two instruments carefully at home and never touched them even once during the period, I was playing live mostly 4/6 weekly for years, I decided to return to playing about 4 years ago and I'm loving the playing for myself mainly now, I still gig live, but only if the venue suits my preferred style/s, I never missed my instruments during the absence and never ever listened to any music of any genre the entire time by choice. I record a lot in my home studio and have been spending most of my playing developing my particular tone preference for a couple of styles, -the break was like I was asleep or in a coma or something I suppose from my now perspective, I relaunched my chops after about a week of 4-10 hours noodling about daily, I'm playing at a level I'm happy with and not overly interested further developing, I can play anything that I hear externally and internally, it's an absolute hoot knowing I'm sounding like the best me as a player, those who know me in my circle have affirmed to me I'm playing like I've been returned after being taken by reprogramming aliens....I love the fun of it and it's brilliant not to have to play for money unless I decide to...total music bliss for sure!
@@yalkinyalniz5030 Yeah for certain, it's much better to select only the gigs that suit yourself as the player/artist/performer, -it's a fun thing to be payed for doing your absolute passion but money ain't the motivator, -music is only ever mean't to be enjoyed, never endured. 🏆
5001 subscribers now mate. Absolute beast of a player…I remember that groove or die video and I never forgot it. Would be cool to know how you met Rick Graham, did he reach out to you or something or did you just meet him somewhere? Looking forward to your 2025 ventures…All the best…Guitar Godz Unleashed 🎸🤘😎👍
I'm a cellist, but also former guitarist(and still play) but actually more of a country guitarist, love that chicken pickin, in the Jerry Donahue style. great content. and Thanks Rick Graham for showing us your channel. Tele's are awesome!
9:06 Ah yes. The old “weight weenies.” I cycle with a few guys that are into saving every gram they can. I just take a big old dump before going for a ride. Toilet paper is a lot cheaper than most of those titanium and carbon fiber parts. 😂
I’d feel the same if I was sat In front of a camera talking. No need to apologise or feel like you’re rambling. People are watching because it’s more conversational style content. 🤘👊✌️
Ben. You are single-handedly making me 1,000% more psyched than I’ve ever been about my instrument.
🙏🙏🙏
This 100%.

I went from jazz picks to dunlop flow recently, and i'm very impressed with these. They last a long time too
Totally agree every word you say. 50 years old here. We know a few things Ben..... Cheers mate !
Wow, so true about gear. People really think way too much about it, even when they cant play at all. To have things is nice tho.
Man it's great to hear your insight on these things 🎸🙏 you are a ferocious player and I'm loving your videos, best to you man!
Thank you 🙏

Shawn Lane - Centrifugal Funk - must listen
Man love your channel and playing!
I am amazed how you play SO extremely technically on that tele. Everyone’s different I guess, goes to show great players can play great on anything.
Will you explain some of Eddie Van Halen’s techniques?
So far you explanations have been top notch, thank you so much!
On the list!

Man I really enjoyed watching this video. What a comeback! Really lookin forward to 2025 🎉
Try out a dunlop sharp or ernie ball prodigy picks. Tend to be the two I use the most.
Same
brother timmons has the best clean tone in the business, no shame in that 😄
Keep it raw, keep it real!
How hard do you pick the notes??
Ben, what picks do you use for your gypsy jazz playing?
Congrat....rock on!!!

Mate I hope you can come down to Australia some day for a tour!
If looking for a new rig You should consider to come to the Guitar Summit in Mannhein/Germany. 😉
Would you consider playing live in Dublin?
If the opportunity arises then definitely 👍
How do you record your audio?
Cheers!
You're like the Eric Johnson of guitar picks. 🤣 Also - you may want to check out a Tonex (full size).
Do you pick as hard as it sounds on camera?🤘🎸🎶🎵
He's hitting it hard!
He briefly lightened up in this video.
Only issue with us over 50 guys, dialing in digital amps are a bit difficult and time consuming.
Telecasters rule! I got 5 of them! …… need more
