    Will you be using cycle 4 for the 24-25 school year? Do you think it’s important to start with cycle 1? I have a 4th and 6th grader and they really want to learn more about the world wars and that’s how I found this curriculum What do you use for LA? Did you plan to continue with AGF?

    Thanks for taking time to make this video. I have loved how thorough the Good and the Beautiful is, and how truly beautiful! But I’ve been experiencing the same feeling the last 6 months, that it just feels like so MUCH content, my kids just can’t keep it all in and they feel overwhelmed and frustrated and we jump around a lot from one idea to the next. I have realized that we need a more simplified and peaceful route. I appreciate your perspective!

    Maybe it would have been a good idea to have your kids on the 1st grade curriculum with videos or with the parent lesson plans. We love love Abeka but it definitely is a lot more faster paced than most curriculums.

    Planning on homeschooling next school year and reviewing curriculums is so overwhelming but AGF has been recommended over and over and your video had a good breakdown of how it works. It’s so nice when your schooling and learning doesn’t even feel like school like you mentioned. Love your channel. ❤ I’m also so glad there are so many curriculum choices and something for everyone. For me, I LOVE all the spelling rules. I never learned any of these in school and always thought the English language was so weird. I always thought there was no rhyme or reason for why things were spelled the way they are. But now I understand why certain letters go where they are and why the silent e is where it is. I love to know the “why” behind things. I know that’s not important to some people and some would probably skip that. I love that as teachers we can use the parts we like and skip the ones we don’t. ❤

    Thank you for your review. There are teacher manuals for each of the math books when you’re not doing the videos they send those to you with the kit but you can also purchase them separately and they give you word for word how to teach the lesson with examples and practice problems, which flashcards to use etc.

    Thank you for your honest review! We are doing Abeka Grade 1 Arithmetic with my twin 5 yr olds. We watched a few of the online classes in the beginning however my kids were bored by the end. There is a lot of repetition so if a concept is understood, a child can get bored easily. Were you aware there are parent-led teacher manuals? These tell you word for word what to say and how to teach. It is the accompaniment for the seat work. It is wonderful! I would never suggest doing the workbook without the teachers' manual lesson plans. So much is lost if you only do the workbook, such as games and concepts. I'd highly suggest it if you still want to do the advanced Abeka Arithmetic.

    We switched from TGTB as well. My daughter was getting bored, and she would get distracted by the colors. I loved what it included, but it just did not work for us. I know plenty of people who have had it work well for them! We have switched to Sonlight this year. My children are loving it!

      We just switched for the same reasons too. My 4th grader was overwhelmed with all the business on the page. Then he was struggling to retain and daily it felt like a chore to do his work rather than something he looked forward to. We chose CLE to change to.

    How exactly do you do nature study??

    • @raisingnobleshomeschool7533
      @raisingnobleshomeschool7533 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Great question. I think everyone does it a little differently. For us, I take some basic nature books/guides out on a walk with the kids. Then we just see what we can find. Once it was tons of seed pods from various trees and plants. We took them apart, found the seeds, read a book about seeds and how they are spread, took notes on the types we found in our nature journals and then drew the flowers and seed pods. One time we found a box turtle so it was all about that and we painted watercolor pictures of the turtle. Sometimes it's about butterflies or certain bugs we see a lot of. It is different every time. But I don't feel it's necessary to have a plan in place before going on a nature walk. Just look closely at all the details and take your time - I guarantee you will find something interesting to look at/study :) I hope that helps!
