As far as I know, the chassis for Audi in 2026 will still be produced by the Sauber staff in Hinwil. If that is correct, it might be an easier choice for Vettel to come back with Audi, as he already lives in Switzerland (I believe). At least he wouldn't have to uproot his entire family for 1-2 years. And then there's the obvious german connection.

I think you are not taking into account the fact that Lewis was not told that Russel was on a one stop strategy early enough, if he had then Hamilton would have pushed harder to close the gap earlier and have had a better chance to pass him. Oh and it was not a genius move as really he had nothing to lose.....it could have blown up just as well as giving him the win. Remember Pirelli even said there was no chance of a one stop as the tyres would fall off. One more point, if Russel had let Hamilton pass, especially with Piastri closing fast, then his car would not have been checked and, it would have been a one two...

I disagree with CasualF1. Russell destroyed Hamilton in 2022. He would have won his first ever F1 race in Sakhir 2020 and he won a race in his first season in 2022. I don't think your theory hold water (the theory about hamilton being washed and therefore George isn't that good because he's only matching hamilton) I am hamiltons biggest hater. And I still disagree. Hamilton almost won the title in 2021. Russell raced him the next year. Everyone is basing the Toto/George relationship on vibes and nothing else. Toto and George are close.

They did not have different downforce levels. Russell had a row from Hamilton in Q3 which is why his top speed was lower. (FYI having a lighter car also makes you faster on the straights)

Karun light is wrong Lewis and George had similar DF levels Lewis simply performed better in the wet Sector 1 is a single corner, as is S3 - of course the majority of time comes in S2. I can’t SS every lap of telemetry, but from laps 30-37 their top speeds were around 322kph every lap before the tow starts to come into play. Give or take.

When I think of all those points and podiums George Russell got Mercedes when their car was miserable and jumping up and down the track. It's pretty clear Toto completely under-estimates the quality of driver he has in Russell.

Russell is a great number two driver, only Lewis and max will win you a title, even lando is a bottle job. But mediocre fans love mediocre drivers.

I think the Reason why Mercedes disregard Russell is perhaps because they have seen his data and consider that whilst he is very fast, maybe he isn't quite as good as Lewis in things like racepace and tyre management etc. and since he's been a driver for 6 years, don't believe that he realistically can improve much more.

I mean of course drivers need a fast car to reach their full potential. But a great driver makes the difference. There's a reason Bottas never won a championship despite having the same car as Lewis, there's a reason Baricchello never won a championship despite having the same car as Michael and there's a reason Checo is not going to win a championship despite having the same car as Max. The teams give them them a capable car but the greats are the ones that turn them into championship winning cars.

Mclaren made the mistake with the pit stops. At first I thought give the place to Oscar cause I always thought OP was going to win. When Lando started to pull away in that last stint and Oscar could not even match him I immediately started to think about the championship even though it's a long shot. Up till now I'm still not sure Mclaren did the right thing because it could very well be a close championship 11 races from now -I even support Oscar and think he's an outside chance. Lando did absolutely nothing wrong and should never have been put in that position to start with.
