CDPR turned woke and americanized in 2018 when it was developing CP77. It also started to support certain ideologies that were basically anti-polish. It wasn't really a shock. It was a fairly gradual process. Maybe a first shock when they started to do that shit in 2018. It also doesn't help that the EU is basically forcing all companies to partake in that ESG garbage.

When they hired Mary Kenney I knew the studio was doomed.

I'm sorry dude, but a few Twitter drama posts and some fking website pages are not enough to have such claims about CDPR DEI transformation. Do we have proof? Did they release DEI-heavy games after CP2077? If it's all about Ciri in the W4 trailer and some drama posts, allow me to compare the CDPR situation with other studios mentioned in this video - in an attempt to clear the picture. BioWare changes started almost two decades ago, when it was bought by EA. They released Mass Effect dilogy, Dragon Age: Origins and then the corporate agenda started to influence the team's decisions. Mass Effect 3 was great, but the shock value of the poor ending did make the final of a trilogy a bit worse - this ending was implemented due to lack of development time, and later they changed it in the Extended Edition. Dragon Age 2 turns out to be a user-friendly game for consoles mercilessly dumbed down for the mainstream, but still holds up in terms of complex characters with a bit of brilliance. But after many of the original BioWare guys have left the company, everything starts to fall apart. Inquisition turns out to be a mediocre action game, nothing more. David Gaider tried to save the project but was fired. Then there was a horrific Mass Effect Andromeda developed with a new team (very DEI-team btw - just check the photos of the devs), Anthem blunder was hurried by EA, and after a long hiatus (and a few reboots of the project) we finally got DA: Veilguard. If the fate of this game was unexpected by anyone aware of BioWare fails YEARS PRIOR to the announcement, then I'm Yves Guilemott and "I'm truly sorry" (с). The story of Obsidian is even more hilarious because in 2019 they have already released an awfully dull game, The Outer Worlds, which was praised as "a real Fallout" in comparison to F76's technical mess. The art style was a bit fabulous, and you may think it was a great RPG from "the devs who brought you Fallout: New Vegas", lol, but only if you didn't actually play the game to see a linear user-friendly 20h-long game about corps and how bad they are. Questionable humor, a lack of great subquest stories and interesting characters ends up in something worse than Fallout 3 (in terms of writing - yeah, it was THAT bad). And then the Avowed teaser shows absolutely nothing and no one WHO KNOWS about Obsidian "expertise" after Pillars of Eternity expects anything good from it. Think about it. Oh, sorry. I almost forgot our precious Ubisoft. Ever heard of Serge Hascoet? He was a mastermind behind the majority of Ubi releases since AC 3 (after Patrice Désilets left). In 2020, he and his old exec team were fired after the Ubisoft SA scandal - and Ubi has failed to replace them. That's why the studio crumbled down in the following years - they don't have a great producer to keep everything in check. Just remember the story of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake - it's even more meme then Outlaws :D You know, I started to think people just know nothing about the actual devs behind the games they discussed... everyone knows only a publisher name or studio name, but the people in the studios are constantly changing. And to avoid any "pikachu face" reaction to any of the upcoming releases all you have to do is check the names of the developers (and what their PREVIOUS games were) - and in just a minute everything becomes much clearer for you. TLDR: Old CDPR good, new CDPR bad? Maybe, but Twitter drama and fking websites are not enough to make a conclusion. Every other major company ruined by DEI showed their incompetence YEARS PRIOR to the SBI fiasco.

I hope the gaming community keeps paying attention to CD Projekt Red - easily one of the worst dev companies out there. From their embracing of ESG / DEI to discriminatory mentorship programs that deliberately exclude straight men, to censoring people on messageboards if you happen to notice these things and point them out, or just say you don't like woche content, their head mod Sardukhar will absolutely make sure to silence you. This company needs to receive the Ubisoft treatment.

About their mentorship program, they claimed tht it was their only option to find new talents because they already employed all the men willing to work in the industry, that was bold...

So I will say as an anti-woke person, I do think that the goblins in Hogwarts legacy are anti-Semitic. Outside the stereotypes they follow there was a horn in game called the "Goblin Artifact" and it looks like a shofar which is a relic from Jewish history which on it's own wouldn't be enough for me, other cultures have probably used bone horns after all. the item description of the goblin relic reads "Horns like this were used by goblins during the 1612 Goblin Rebellion to rally troops and generally annoy wizards." 1612 was the same year the Fettmilch Uprising happens. I think the odds of that just being a coincidence are super low but I suppose it could still happen I guess.

Same thing happened to a lot of companies. A company is only as good as their staff and they've gone to Rebel Wolves. However, Bethesda held on to some staff for too long and it lead to regurgitating storylines- find your father, find your son, rebuild liberty prime.

By far the single most horrible character to ever grace a video game

While I give CDPR the benefit of the doubt, the leaving of previous devs that coalesced into a whole new studio, the lies prior to the launch of Cyberpunk and the wonky behavior on socials and when it comes to the cancer that is DEI, make me easily decide to look with suspicion at what they're doing and, regardless of hype, wait until 1 month post-launch at the very least before going ahead and purchasing one of their games. I didn't mind the stuff in Cyberpunk so my hopes are that they'll remain consistent and, if there are extremist people that would want to preach or beat people over the head with their social themes, I hope that they either rein them in or fire them. Anyway, how Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2 do will decide if I will keep waiting happy for their next masterpiece/great game or if I will never look their way ever again and put my expectations for fun and immersion into other, better companies.

I want to add my bit to the discrimination part. It may be a bit off-topic, but I want to express my feeling towards CDPR: As a Russian, I can't talk about CDPR other than with a sorrow. We were one of few countries who accepted and admired CDPR since the beginning, sales of the first and second witcher games in Russia made a huge huge chunk of their entire success overall. Until Witcher 3 hype, we, as long with the poles and other slavic countries, were one of the biggest supporting communities of CDPR products. Even when Cyberpunk2077 got released and bashed on launch, Russian community was one of the few, where majority of people were defending the game and believing in CDPR to make things right. I don't want to take credit as the most loyal CDPR community but I dare to say that we were at least on 2nd or 3rd place if that can be somehow measured. They even invited some Russian stars into Cyberpunk as cameos and had the entire video about them on their channel, but that's not the point. The point is that when the war with Ukraine started, CDPR were the first company ever to bail out of Russia. They didn't get pressured by the government like some other companies, it was their own choice basically to backstab the community which loved them the most. They forbid us to buy their games, they don't allow us to Voice Over their games to Russian language (it only applies to Phantom Liberty yet but I'll guess the same thing will happen with Witcher 4), they closed all of their collaborations with russian influencers out of spite basically, because their actions didn't support Ukraine almost in any matter. They just decided to hop on the train of a cancellation of nation, I guess, and now they promote DEI bs. It's ironically af tbh. CDPR became everything they've been making laugh of in Cyberpunk. They are the corpo-rats who don't see us as customers, they see us as walking wallets. My whole message is not even about political stuff, it's about the point that CDPR don't value us, their fans. If they dared to cancel out the entire Russian and Russian-speaking community, what stops them to cancel out YOUR community and YOU specifically and any moment they want.

I've finally come to realize that these people aren't stupid. They know their "business" model (i.e. simping for exponential growth) will eventually tank the company. Their grift and butter is to suck out as much cash from the investors (and customers, if possible) before even the largest, most prestigious company's financial and PR credit inevitably buckles under the abuse. Single and double AA is the future. Forget quintillion A studios like these. Their interest is to scam everyone out of their money, not to develop even a viable product anymore, much less a video game worth playing.

All I needed to hear to know CDPR lost their way was that they switched to Unreal Engine 5. UE5 just means their games are going to look like every other game that aims for 'realism' and it's going to be very poorly optimized.

I've said it before & I'll say it again... If Cyberpunk 2 goes woke, CDPR *WILL* go broke. People won't take another garbage release from this company.

They maybe for real thinking about talent not leaving then, because to them most people working on their games are not even considered as human beings. So unironically they are right, but in the wrong way.
