36 miles per hour in our Kubota X 1100c SUBSCRIBE and I'll show you how!!
Hi there Our RTV X1120D 2018 suddenly stopped drive. Tries to move but no real torque transfer. Oil hydrostatic type issue. Both Gbox & hydro tank oil levels good. Unloader valve moving & can hear/feel it doing something when activated, while pulling on main control rod. Any ideas. Other than your video on how the gearbox works is there something on how the hydraulics operate & there controls.
Forgot to mention tipper body seams to work correctly so maybe pump all OK. Just hydrostatic drive fault.
Possibly an axel? Does it move in low or reverse? Or, Does it work in 4x4? If yes, lift the back off the ground and see if the tires spin. (Typically the passenger side will spin first) Perhaps try the differential lock to see if the driver side rear spins. If none of that works, it might be in your hydrostatic area. You can pressure test it or have the dealer pressure test it to see if it's pumping.
My Kabota will not stay in high gear. It makes a popping noise. Any ideas?
Which model do you have?
Thanks for getting back with me. 2019. RTV x1140
What are those bolts called, please? Hex bolts?
I would call it a machine bolt or screw. The other part is a t-nut.
You need my broom to put on that kconnect!😉
It would be nice to have around!
A dealer I went to while investigating the K-Connect Snowblower told me they won't deal with them as the drive shaft system has been problematic and noisy. This was a few years ago, but now that I've seen your video I can see why the dealer just decided to not bother with them. Perhaps things have changed. I see why you take the connect system off in summer. Driving the mechanism and having mud, etc. collect in the clutch is not good.
Yeah, I think there are some issues to overcome, but overall I like that it's all one unit! Works well for me! Thanks for the comment 👍
Thanks for the Video. For those of us without a hoist and a transmission jack, taking the K-Connect on/off probably isn't a workable annual option. Snowblower Suggestion - I laid a few beads of weld on each of the underside of the original snowblower slides. It provided a little more clearance adjustment, added material to minimize the wear, and you can always lay a few more beads of weld whenever the wear dictates it. Seems to work well! Hope that helps.
That's a good idea! I might just do that right away. I think you could drop it from the ground and a floor jack but it would be a lot of crawling around on the ground. Might not be worth it!
Glad to see you back on your TH-cam channel with new content. Have you given anymore thought about doing a video installing an aftermarket tach?
Thanks! Yes, I really want to get on that! Thanks for watching! Any other vids you'd like?
@@SearlesStation Nah, a tach is about the only other thing I want to add to my X1100C. I have already done a remote control dome light controller install and I did a rear bulkhead connector socket and integrated controller box for a Herd Broadcast Spreader. We don't get enough snow here in the mid south to justify a snow blower!
My rtv 1100 had an issue.. it was running fine then started it up it was in very high rpm and couldn’t turn off. Nearly went up n flames. Any ideas?
Not sure about the high idle but the not shutting off sounds like the stop solenoid on the injection pump.
Hello, Are you interested in testing our products? We would like to invite you to test the Black Seat Cover for your Kubota RTV400 /500
Unfortunately I don't have a 500 😞
Hey Ryan. Just checking to see if you have an email or would answer a question about an X 1140 I have. Thanks
Absolutely! SearlesStation@gmail.com
Doing maintenance for the shop today and our x1100c tops out at 23 on pavement and 27 on the jack
Not too bad! Let me know if you go through all the steps and if you like the results!
Full throttle and trans linkage adjustment and increased to 30 mph on a jack and still only wanting to do 23 on a downhill. Waiting for your fuel pump increase video😂
Never seen how you got the 36 mph. Watched all 4 videos but you never showed how to turn up the fuel!
You don't need to turn up the fuel to accomplish it. If you go through each step your machine will get going. I will be making some more videos with more specific things.
thank you very much for breaking it down for us. great job
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Is this valve related to the “coast valve” that is marketed for reducing the sudden deceleration (when letting off on the throttle) on these machines? Just curious. I don’t own an RTV yet, but looking to purchase a used one soon, and would like to know more about the pros/cons of the “coast valve”….
Yes, in a way. The coast valve allows the system to bleed pressure more quickly than the standard bleed valve. I think the biggest issue is that people think of these like a standard transmission and they are not. It's more like a skid loader or zero turn lawnmower mower. There isn't a coast or freewheel. You wouldn't just let go of the skid loader controls, you would let up to come to a stop. That's how this is too.
If you allow the pedal travel to exceed the throttle adjustment screw at the engine you are going to constantly stretch the cable. That's why that bolt is there on the floor.
Hey bubba watching your video for work what's the story on the lowrider man that thang is beautiful would love to here more about it
That is my sons car! He is planning to do a resto on it eventually. Once we get started we'll do some videos along the way. He's working on buying a house so it my be a bit!
Does anyone know how much performance and hill climbing ability is affectted at altitudes of 8,000-9,000 ft elevation? I am looking at a used one and may have an occasional need to climb steeper forest service roads with loose rocks. Slow is OK, but at least want to be able to make it.
As I understand it, the engine really performs at an altitude much better with the turbo kit. I know the torque and horsepower do affect the transmission system in these too. No first hand experience. In my experience, having the linkage adjusted is the primary factor in poor performance.
@@SearlesStation Is the turbo kit an aftermarket kit or from Kubota and any idea of cost? Is it something I could do myself? Thanks for your help!
That’s cheating
Shake and bake!
Still waiting for that tachometer video!
I'll work on it! 😀
What does the unload do when the pin is pressed in when you step in the brake?
The unloading valve releases the pressure built in the hst. If the pressure isn't released, the gears are bound so it is difficult to shift out of gear to another gear. I do have a video on the unloading valve.
@SearlesStation thanks. I have 2015 x1120d it stopped moving in forward an reverse. I found the cable this to unload valve broken do you think would cause this
@@wisconsinbigcheese6309 I don't think it would unless the valve is depressed. Where are you in WI? I'm in southern MN by New Ulm. I'd take a look if its not a hassle to bring it this way
Im at 27mph on the jack stand but only 20mph on flat road. It will get up to 25mph going down hill. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Are you up to date with fluid and filter changes? What year/hours/miles?
@SearlesStation Just changed all the fluids & happen to see your videos. 2015. 500hrs, 1300 miles. Thanks for help
Ja sind top kann ich unterschreiben hab den 900+1140 😂
Awesome!
Just flipped one of these bad boys and completely destroyed my legs, be safe fellas 🫡
Oh man! Are you going to recover!?
Biggest fight ever when I spent 11k on a new rtv 900 in 2007. What a great piece of equipment. Still going strong
Awesome to hear!
Did you ever get the rear pumps replaced? Didn't see the next video available.
I swapped for a good used one. This one was too far gone 😪
I thought you where going to do a video series on making them faster
For sure! That's the optimization videos
When I go uphill, I have to back off on the foot pedal a little in order to get the best performance from the machine. If I press the pedal to the floor, it is worse. I have heard this from other RTV owners as well. How does that square with your example of wanting more RPMs in order for the machine to provide better performance? Perhaps something not set correctly on my machine???
Same here. Did anyone mention a solution for that yet?
Great video. Crazy question... i am trying to rebuild the hdrostatic unit on one of these and i need a few parts. I need a couple of pistons from the larger driving block on the hydrostatic unit. I would be happy to buy them if you still have them kicking around. Thanks!!
Just looked through my parts. I really don't have any that would be good. They are all worn pretty well.
Very nice. IS the snow blower/k-connect installation as difficult as my dealer makes it out to be? Good gawd they want $19000 CDN on top of the machine.
HA! I know right!? It's not terribly difficult, just time consuming. There is a wiring harness that snakes around everywhere, the engine gets a new pully so that takes some, there is some cutting of factory parts that needs to be done, the driver seat gets cut apart for the seat sensor and some more... It takes a few days to get it all in. Not hard but a lot of steps. I bought the system with no install and did it myself. I think it saved me like $3k or so.
@@SearlesStation Thanks for the reply. A great resource is "Ryan Lynch", he's a kubota mechanic that post videos on You Tube. He does most everything Kubota related. I watched a video of the blower/k connect install. It is definitely a process.
Great video topic. Thanks for posting.
Thanks!
Need more video.
thank you, this helped me out alot. I work on atvs and utvs but the kubota is new to me on this ranch im on. i subscribed and eager to learn more. Thanks again . Seagoville Powersports is my shop name
If the rtv900 is slowing down faster than usual, how do I adjust that? It's the not the brakes
There is a shock that dampens the return to neutral on the linkage. My guess would be that, that shock is bad and not slowly returning to neutral but the spring is pulling fast. Have someone step on the foot pedal while you watch that shock or just take it off and see if it is any good.
Mine does 8.... both forward and backwards on the ground. On jacks, it's 18. I watched all your videos and checked all following your instructions. They all seem fine and good according to your videos (I was able to move the set screw to allow more throttle and that increased the speed by 2). But I'm still only doing 8 across the flat ground, less up hills. So my pure guess: I need new hoses? Any advice? I'm in Florida so dropping it off it's an option.
Oh, that's no good! Which model do you have? X1100? (Just want to make sure) Have you changed all filters and fluid? How is your fluid level? It could be a hose problem. They can get soft and collapse, which restricts flow. Are your brakes stuck on by chance?
@@SearlesStation x900. I'm not sure the year. Serial number is 66376
@@SearlesStation I have an x900. I ordered the filters (waiting on them) and the fluid level is fine. I will change both when the filters come in. I haven't checked the brakes. But I will now! I was thinking about just replacing all the hydraulic lines, fluid, filters and rebuilding the pump. After that: I hope the issue is gone. Any suggestions on where to get the parts to rebuild the pump?
Wouldn’t mind if you kept your series ongoing into maintenance when you hit all the fluid changes. Got an x900 here. About to replace a stretched throttle cable and then adjust the linkages after seeing your video series
Will do! I'll start making some maintenance vids
Hi Thanks for the video. Can you help with - i have my 2021 rtv shifting fine but when i override it with the high idle it is extremely hard to shift. When i first got it was set up and had no issue went for a service and came back like this. I am unable to shift when i override the throttle. Thanks
Interesting. I think you're talking about the hand throttle as far as high idle. Jack the machine off the tires and run it high idle and see if the wheels turn. If they do, you may need to back the hst control bar back to get it in neutral at high idle.
@@SearlesStation Thanks for help. yes hand throttle . Do i need to jack all 4 tires up or just the rear? I did the rear and and wheels do not turn when on high idle. It is impossible to shift it in high idle. I used to be able to no problem then went to kubota dealer for repair and came back like this. They told me that it didn't matter cause your not suppose shift the machine at high idle - they said the high idle is for using attachments that stay stationary - at that pointed i realized they are not well! LOL
@@anntorrance2305 Yes, that 100% incorrect. I use the snow blower at full throttle and shift gears. I could be your pressure relief still... Push the brake extremely hard when trying to shift. Let me know if that works
Can you PLEASE explain why did that transmission have a great hole right where the 4 wheel drive shaft came out and it appeared to be welded, I’m aware you purchased it and it didn’t happen to you but just thought you might know why that has happened. Reason I ask is, mine blew a hole exactly in the same place and Kubota Australia replaced the housing free of charge it’s not under warranty either, they actually done all the work and didn’t cost me anything, so just wondering are they hiding a known fault. I actually did hear from kubota delivery drivers that said it’s common when they are in snow and the wheels are spinning then it hits hard ground that’s what causes the housing to blow out under pressure. Have you heard of that happening.
Yes, there is a flaw in the casting and how the bearing sits in it. It wears and then breaks! It's very common and it's good to hear they are taking care of people on that. It sounds like the new casting has the issue fixed.
Down hill
Yep!
Thank You for your videos! I come in late here but such good information and so well explained! You asked what people think for a price on your 2015. A few days ago I followed an ad by a dealer for a 2015 Kubota RTV, 9 thousand miles and over 5 thousand hours (miles and hours are approximate memory), it ran good but I didn't want to pay $13, 500. I did buy a new Kubota RTV 1100 CWL that day from the same dealer as I was fed up with searching for used side-by-sides that to me were always so over priced, I was helped by a friendly attentive sales guy which also helped me to order one from the dealership, it does make a difference. I'm expecting to have the Kubota delivered in less than a week.
Awesomeness! It's always a struggle to buy used or new. Who knows what you're getting with used. But for the right deal it may be worth it. New is great and if the 0% financing works for you that's and even better deal.
@@SearlesStation I've got about 25k miles on my 2019 and it runs like a top. bought it new. Truly a tough machine.
Get the proper drain pan that extends up and you won't have that problem...
Agreed
Hey so we have a Kubota 900x that I accidentally killed the battery on or so I thought because when i turned the key to start it just clicked once but didn’t crank. I put battery charger on was already 95%. I was freaking out because I had borrowed it from my dad to go feed the horse and rabbits. But thought for some reason if I tried pushing it it would help but was on a slight hill so I just pushed it back and forth and tried it again and it started. But now as I write this I don’t remember if the lights had gone out when I went to try starting it or if I just assumed (now) I had killed the battery because it wouldn’t start after leaving the lights on. But since then it would start but now (day later) and after a quick drive it won’t start again. Any ideas? Hope all is well with the new shop thanks in advance
Check your power and ground wires/straps from the frame to the starter/engine. Make sure they have good connections. They get rusted and lose contact over time. Turn the key on check your lights and such, see if you have good power. Could be the starter going bad...
@@SearlesStationthank you! Did as you suggested and ended up driving all the way out to Modesto to pick up a new starter for $338 with tax would had cost $140 to overnight it for shipping and we needed it asap to pick up balls ( have golf driving range and we’re almost completely out). 5 hour round trip later and got it installed later last night and it starts right up! Will rebuild and keep other for a spare. Thanks again for your help. Now I gotta get up to pick up balls. Joy🙄 but glad I don’t have to do it by hand.
How did you get 36mph.....going down hill or something else?
Right now my setup is 30mph on flats, 20-25 uphills (pending the hill) max 38 mph downhill. I could get more out of it but I keep it close because it's a new machine. Check out the other videos and I show how to improve your rig.
My 1140 CPX just had something break in the transmission. The motor works fine, but nothing is turning outside. What should I do? Is it worth fixing?
It really depends... Does it work in 4x4?
The 4wd has been broken for a while but the drive shaft does turn when I engage 4wd. Nothing to the back end
It sounded like something broke when I was going up a hill. I thought it was a u-joint at first, but it's definitely in the transmission
My parents just bought a new rtv1100. It’s completely gutless. It barely can climb their driveway. They are in the process of getting their money back. The dealer worked on it a few times and said it’s fine.
That doesn't seem right. They are not terribly fast compared to others but it should be reasonable
I got a 2020 model with hydraulic
Nice!
Fuck the wife.. you should buy one!! Life to short and there’s plenty of cool woman that love muscle cars!
Cant wait to see where this guy takes the project. This is the biggest reason people shy away from these models
