Remote Work Essentials for Your Traveling Office - Portable Digital Nomad Setup
They knew it wasnt just a mountain. Most of the city evacuated, if they truly had no knowledge something bad was coming the death toll would have been so much higher.
Thanks for the comment, The people of Pompeii didn't know that Mount Vesuvius was a volcano and in fact there wasn't even a word for volcano in Latin. Romans knew about Mt Etna erupting and thought it was the furnace of God Vulcan but for them Vesuvius was just a friendly mountain with very fertile soil, where some of them owned vineyards. They did evacuate once they felt the Earth trembling and saw the big pillar of ashes raising from the mountain and when hot stones started falling on the city but that didn't mean they knew it was a volcano beforehand, they were just reacting to what was happening. Matter of fact, if they had knowledge of volcanoes and their destructive power no one would've stayed cause there was plenty of time from the first signals to evacuate
Also look for pasta ARMANDO, excellent in my opinion and on par with De Cecco and Garofalo!
Shut your mouth 👄 keep Omerta
I recently bought a house in Caltagirone, I would love the opportunity to ask you some questions. (Now I want to buy a farmhouse)
That's lovely to hear, feel free to ask not real estate experts but can try to help!
The rural Chinese "hibachi" experience
Ha yes, quite similar. Loved this steam fish was delicious!
Berilla goood pasta ❤
Red barilla are incredible
ITS ALL BS...HYPE....PASTA IS PASTA
Garofalo is not trafata al bronzo
Focusing too much on Arab influence, let's not exaggerate.
*colonized by the arabs.
Not quite a colony, the Sicilian emirate was independent by the African kingdom and they surely didn't fit our modern idea of colonizers, didn't just kill and enslaved and pillaged the land, quite the opposite they enriched it and had a multicultural kingdom
Beautiful island. I've been to Palermo once. I'm undecided on either visit the island or Napoli and Campania
Can't go wrong with either honestly! Both Campania and Sicily are great places to visit!! (Unless you're on a diet! Cause the food is irresistible!)
@davandj thanks!
Amazing video! I've only been to the archeological museum, but I'm planning on visiting Napoli in 2025. Which month of the year was this video recording? Any suggestions on when is a good time to visit?
Hi there! Thanks for the comment, that's a great question. We were there in July though I would say Spring might be better as it'd be a bit less crowded and not too hot :)
I always read the ingredients and look for the high-protein.
Hello from India! We are planning a Sicily road trip and I suddenly came across your channel. Needless to say this one is so interesting, I binge watched almost every video! This particular one I must say is so unique. Yes we do have an almost romantic idea about the mafia, thanks to movies like the Godfather. And I do plan on a guided tour that is offered to see all the places where the movie was shot, when we travel to Sicily. But yes of course your commentary was a reality check. We too have been grappling with the 'underworld' here and while this video has left me very emotional, all I wish to say is, I hope we too see a time when restaurants and establishments here will have a similar sticker put up, showing they do not pay the underworld any protection money! Maybe someday 🙏🏻. Thanks once again for your channel. It is of big help to people like me who don't want to do the usual touristy things.
Hello there! Indiaaa 🥹♥️ we met there and lived there (Rajasthan) for almost 2 years. What a magical place ♥️ We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed the videos, comments like yours make our day 🥹🥹 THANK YOU! for watching and the kind words. I hope you have the most wonderful time in Sicily and feel free to comment more if you'd like some tips! 🤗🤗🤗
@ Thank you so much 😊❤️🙏🏻
They have better flour and ingredients than we do here in America. In America our food and ingredients have way too many preservatives. Our pasta, rice, and bread are all fake. They don't have those problems in Europe. Thanks for posting.
And really who cares......it's Italian snob value.....and Barilla is great value
Ehhh no mi spiace contraddirti ma POIATTI è un brand siciliano che usa solo grano italiano dal 1946 ed è eccellente
Most people don’t think that
When they say Irish Americans aren't Irish, they aren't wrong either.
He got something hanging from his nose looks stupid
If u like wholemeal pasta, Rummo's the one
It's a myth that they never break them. It can be different reasons. It can be because of a certain dish, like in this videos, it can be because you don't have a pot that's high enough (and the end that went in last tastes uncooked, whike the rest is al dente) for the kids, if they start how to learn to eat spaghetti, or for elderly people, who begin to have problems eating them, but still want to eat them. And with "they" I also mean me, because I'm partly italian and I've seen all the cases I mentioned! In other words, special cases.
Very true! When I was a kid my mom would make spaghetti and then make them smaller after cooking, cutting them using the edge of a cup, I loved it!
Interesting. In Canada our markets are complete opposite, no one says anything unless you ask to buy something, if anyone is shouting they are probably angry at someone lol
Different markets I guess, we're in China ATM and they shout a lot too
Thanks for the info! Maybe you can comment on what would be the best way to find those Whatsapp groups?
Hi there, good point, there are some FB Groups from there I'm sure people will share the link to the whatsapp groups or might even be in the descriptions!
Ma che cazzo stai a di garofalo neanche usa grano italiano
Cirio
Those are casts yes. 😢but its very sad though how so many people have died. They didnt know it was a volcano quite a few did I'm sure. Pliny the younger noticed. But few people fled and so many took shelter in their homes. That didnt save them😢😢😢
From Italy. Dead right on all counts, and Barilla is the worst, you can tell by the yellow colour: it was dried using a high temperature machine to save time so it's basically almost 'parboiled'.... My late husband worked for a local pasta factory, thatìs why I know. There are a few more brands here which I could recommend but that's not useful here.
never mind risks or crime, we only live once and we cannot control it all and the only way to go through life is to live dangerously - quote from Nietsche.
Thanks for this quote and wisdom, makes total sense, we only live once after all!
Great 👍 introduction
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :))
De Cecco e Del Verde ❤
Sempre questa canzoncina di merda (non è cantata in italiano).
They"re dogs.
Thanks for the comment, while they're also known in the West and in colloquial English as "Foo Dogs" they depict two asiatic lions, they're known in China as either Stone lion (石獅; Shíshī) or Bronze Lion (銅獅; Tóngshī)

Just back from a trip to Naples and a visit to Pompei. Very interesting place from such a long time ago. Enjoyed the whole time there and Naples has some amazing buildings that are hundreds of years old. Also went to Sorrento and along the stunning coastal road to Amalfi. I will definitely be visiting again to explore more.
You're right! They are indeed gorgeous places full of history!
Im japanese,Grandma taught me always alive with seafood
That's some great advice from Grandma! Can't get fresher than still alive :D
I thought 8 is the lucky number
6 and 8 are also very lucky numbers. 9 was the "heavenly number" and associates with the emperor. 8 is good luck. Esp regarding wealth. Fun fact: SO MANY wifi password here are 88888888
Okay thats interesting
Glad you found it interesting!
