Sling TSi Flying Low and Slow With a Kitfox!
Just a stunning aircraft 😊
Looks AMAZING 😍
I would not to want to even step on the wing without being barefoot :)
Evan-- Do you have contact information? Thanks
Brilliant paint design the graphic looks like a runway and the plane is above it 🏆
Thanks @EvanBrunye for the feedback. We've sent this video to our engineers. We used the same lens shape that we use in a couple of other low wing airplanes. We're always looking for feedback to improve our designs.
@@RosenSunvisors heck ya glad the video made its way to you guys! Great product all around, love the quality. I figured it’s a long shot to hope for a custom cut visor for slings considering the volume… but hey, can’t hurt to ask!
Is there a sun shade where the mount/receptacle is installed at build time but the shade is easily attached or removed with one hand? What I'm thinking is the shade could be stowed out of the way, when needed it snaps registeres in place with magnets or other really quick and sturdy.
strip steps look like colored bed liner. I don't think that is sand in the paint.
@@tfargher1 it’s definitely sand-type grit stuff in these, not a rubberized spray like bed liner. Not sure what their application method was, but it’s a very nice finished result!
The paint looks even better in person! FWIW, I've been flying with the Rosen shades in my TSi since day 1. I don't find them obstructive at all when I don't need them and I'm very happy with how they perform.
Glad that you're enjoying the visors! After we installed them in the TSi demo plane in Torrance, Kelso gave us a test flight out to Catalina, and man what an experience that was. The TSi is an incredible airplane!
Randolph makes a paint-on wing walk material, that is a great option than taping on a wing walk material.
I love this plane! Like Evan said, I have no plans to sell it but I do have a lot of plans to fly it around the USA.
Nice! @N141D is a beauty!
Beautiful paint! I was hoping to do a build assist with you in the future, however, I am now even more excited about your new relationship with Sling. With your innovative insights we should all be looking forward to a very mature aircraft. I have to admit I’m a bit jealous, what a great adventure, enjoy the ride!
Congrats on a beautiful plane! I guess I may be Sling TSI #2 with Evoke, I have a Spring time slot with them. Can’t wait to see what they can do with my plane.
you won't be disappointed!
Wow! Well done Evan. You are really a master builder. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man, just trying to keep up with you!
One of the most amazing things on those paint jobs is how everything is butted up against each other. There are no lines to be felt where the colours or designs change.
That paint is amazing ❤🎉
Beautiful. No steps? Install them later?
I recommend not installing the steps, they get in the way more than they help
This is my favorite sling model tailwheel definitely.
Makes total sense . Have fun in South Africa
Hey Evan, good on your trip to S. Africa. I hope things go well and you enjoy your time working with the Sling folks. 5:38 Since you're great at mods, work your magic before you leave. I was thinking of just turning them inward instead of out towards the windscreen.
They're a bit more invasive when you turn them inward. I didn't have time while I was out there, but I would have trimmed off the corner a bit where I showed in the video. Rosen laser cuts the acrylic then polishes it perfectly smooth, so after trimming them you'd want to sand it down to 2000+ grit, then follow it up with compound to get it to look as clean as it does when you get it. Not hard, just time consuming. I had another idea though, so hopefully the owner of this plane tries it out and I'll give the update on what ends up being the best solution
Yes it is
Thanks Evan for your many contributions sharing your experience. Love the way you inventory the kit. Can I ask what you use for the bags? Where do you buy such large clear bags? Are you making them to size?
I’m a body shop owner : what type of paint is there a special kind you have to use??
Who manufacturers the oxygen concentrators ?
Thanks for the describing the process you use to inventory. I have been doing the same (on a HW). However, "Technical" have said to only use the packing lists. I did ask how can I follow the Construction Manuals when a bunch of the parts are missing. The initial response was "Contact Technical if you have a problem". Hmm. Safe trip.
You have benn a great inspiration while I was building my TSi. Thanks a lot and enjoy working with the great Sling team.
This will make someone’s new year. So many people were looking for a hw to build. Here it is ;)
Thanks and who wouldn’t want a sling built by you.
Congratulations on your new job in South Africa Evan! Are you keeping or selling your house/shop in Idaho?
Good luck Evan, safe travels. Please keep us updated on your life and time in Joberg.
Nice Evan! Love your work! Disappointed I won't see you build this.
Definitely disappointed I won't be building it!
We look forward to your contributions to Sling Aircraft, working directly in SA! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more videos. Now you van buold your HW in SA, and fly it back! Enjoy, and Thank YOU!
Beautiful
Just like Sling, Sonex kits all use 6061 as well, and they generally don't recommend priming either. Some of their factory-built test planes have been around for over a decade at this point and don't have any corrosion.
Sweet Bird.
Would you be interested in building another just like this?
Man I wish, i make pretty good money... but when i hear 300k+, I start looking at VR heatsets for MSFS2024
Bring it in a container to South Africa! We'll show you some of the nicest places to have the best fun EVER! DON'T sell it!
@evan, are you selling this as a kit?
Was this sold?
Congrats on the opportunity to go work with Sling!!
I was hoping to use you for a build assist someday. Will you be resuming that at some point?
Possibly, but very unlikely
@@EvanBrunye Is Sling going to include some of your innovations/improvements into their Tsi kits?
Bravo. THENKS. GO AHEAD
Evan I remember when you built your first Sling. It's so damn cool that you're going to be working at the factory in South Africa. They'll be lucky to have you on the team. Best of luck and looking forward to more content from your experiences! Would love a sling tailwheel.
@@scottwillson5562 thanks man, stoked I’ve been able to earn the opportunity. There’s no company out there I respect more than sling for their contributions to ga!
Beautiful bird. Check out the Zlin Norden while you’re there, I think there is one in Johannesburg.
Do you still have to wash and clean the parts if you are not going to prime?
Beautiful build! What’s she weigh?
@@TrentonPalmer thanks man. She’s a bit hefty at 992, but you’d never know it with that engine!
@@EvanBrunyeoof, my O-320 STI weighs less than that. Shes a beaut though.
@@laurenvoigt1783 that’s fine, doesn’t perform like this though 😉
store it, you'll lose more money selling it
365k?!! Good luck with that.
@@summerman2 times have changed
I am a bit curious where the asking price comes from. Beautiful plane, built well, with a trophy to back it all up....but Trent Palmer is asking $100k less than this, and people thought that was a piss take.
@@DS-vy5ph there are several people signed on currently for build-assist projects built to similar specs. Their all-in cost will be around $310-320k. This with a trophy and no 2 year wait period was priced accordingly. Trent’s was a 20 year old model 5 with a higher time 915 engine. He got what it’s worth, and this will sell for what it’s worth as well.
@@EvanBrunyehow is their all in cost 320k when you can buy a very comparable factory built Rans S21 which should have more value in material being , steel and aluminum skin with 2, 10” G3X’s an autopilot like yours and a GTN750XI for 270k?
Sounds reasonable enough to me. Best of luck with the sale, and whoever buys it will be very pleased I'm sure. Looking forward to the Sling adventure @@EvanBrunye
Good luck with the move. Check out the KFA Safari when you are down in Joburg. Similar to a kitfox but a true beast of a machine.
@@tds456 it’s a Kitfox clone
@@EvanBrunye Definitely not a clone. Many differences and multiple improvements, even over the latest and greatest Kitfox's. Factory is nearby the Sling factory. Call the guys for a flight. You won't be disappointed.
@@tds456 ok, I’ll grant you they’ve made some changes… but you can’t say it’s not a clone… even their name is a clone 😂
