It's very nice to receive some affirmation from a published author (my own credentials are rather lacking), and it's a pleasant change of pace from the sorts of comments I usually receive when I criticize an author's writing techniques (from the offended fans who like to tell me that I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about).

Hi NQD! We didn't get around to checking out the birds of prey demonstration at this festival, but we did have a really fun time with everything else!

It really was so fun, Steph, and I'm happy that my boys seemed to have just as much fun as I did! I'm thinking about taking them for a day at Fan Expo in Toronto next month, too.

I think that my lactose intolerance somehow turned into a full-on allergy because I used to be able to handle it with the help of Lactaid pills, but now even with the pills I get really sick when I try to ingest anything with lactose. However I seem to do okay when I avoid it, so I'll just have to adjust my diet to work around it.

You're not the first person who has mentioned that they enjoy Rotterdam! I've been on 6 of the 7 continents (Antarctica is the holdout), but as far as Europe goes, I've never been outside of the UK.

@@AahzmandusPervect Several places across Canada from Ontario to BC and across the US from California to Florida. Spent a week in Buenos Aires, Argentina to be a participant in the TV show, Wipeout Canada. Traveled in Scotland for a couple of weeks. On the way over to Australia stopped in at Taipei briefly, and spent a night in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. Spent 2 weeks in Sydney and 1 week in Perth, then another night in Malaysia on the way back. Stopped into England for a couple of days on the way to Greek Cyprus, and from Cyprus did tourist cruises to Egypt (the Great Pyramids + Cairo) and Israel/Palestine. Spent a week at an all-inclusive in The Bahamas and another in Mexico. And most of that was done in my 20s and very early 30s, when I was fairly healthy, working full-time as a paramedic, and didn't have a house or kids!

You had WHAT playing with me? 😄 My lowest rating this month was 6.5, which on my personal rating scale falls halfway between "Good" and "Very good", so I definitely still had an enjoyable time playing these games!

Hi! Arydia is still in production, and since it ended up being too expensive for me I didn't pledge for it when it crowdfunded. As a result, I haven't looked at it again since making this video. That being said, a big adventure game that DOES look like it would be worth the high cost is Agemonia!

@@joshyaks Thank you for the video nevertheless. TBH, dungeon crawler +RPG kind of games is literally new to me. And off lately I am tilting more towards non euro games, especially the ones where there is narrative driven cooperative and can also be played solo. I already have Lands of Galzyr, Eila and Something Shiny. And have played Sleeping Gods prior. And I felt Arydia, Tales from Red Dragon Inn and Agemonia are best to me.

Thanks, Charles. I've spent my day today frantically sending emails/paperwork to banks, mortgage brokers, my region's housing department, my Member of Parliament and Member of Provincial Parliament, local organizations that help with housing, and anyone else I could think of who might have an idea of how I might avoid losing my house. I suspect that this represents what most of my days are going to be like over the next month or so (at which point, if I have no success, I'll be scrambling to do a million things to get the house ready to put on the market while trying to figure out where I could live), so hopefully I'll still find some time to make videos.

Absolutely! There's something about the live music experience where even if it's not music that I'd normally listen to, seeing it performed live can still be a great time. What was the amazing concert you went to, and what others are you going to next month?

@@joshyaks oh, it's very eclectic, you'll see. The concert I went to was in Brussels, Belgium, an J-pop band called Atarashii Gakko. My wife and I are both fans, and we took our two nieces, who also took a liking to the band. The next concert we'll go to is Morgan James, an amazing vocalist from the US, and two days later, it's Testament old school thrash metal, one of my favorites. 🙃 See, I told you it's eclectic!

Yeah, it's a struggle to hang on to even just the basics like housing these days. I do love board game cafes, and I'm glad that many Ontario cities have gotten their own board game cafes in the 15 years since Snakes & Lattes first opened in Toronto!

@@infinitelee6256 They gave a couple of material options for printing large posters, so I think I went with a very thin vinyl (sort of a paper-thin plastic material that was thin enough to cut with scissors).

@@joshyaks Yep. It's quicker than Rising Sun, and in my opinion, there are more strategy involved, as the board is divided in hexagones rather than large regions. I like it a lot, but I'm a sucker for Feudal Japan settings, so, I love both games.

Hi C M! I'm a little under the weather because a minor virus/cold took advantage of my beleaguered immune system to break through the defenses, but I'm not doing too badly other than that. This video was recorded on May 7, three days before my hospitalization, so the setback I was referring to is old news now. I've heard good things about the Lonesome Dove TV series so I should probably check it out, but the book was so perfect that I'm reluctant to give the adaptation a chance (if that makes sense!).

Thanks, Paul! Being completely off milk products has cleared up my whole system very nicely, so that does add support to the allergy theory.

@@joshyaks it's not an uncommon allergy unfortunately. There are a fair amount of milk alternatives these days, but probably more expensive and not as convenient.
