Trigger warning for outhouse purists out there...we have electrical and plumbing in this sucker! Having never framed a structure before, this process took quite a bit of learning in the background to understand the strongest and safest strategies for laying out my walls and roof. Again, I'm not teaching here, just sharing my journey! Enjoy! www.bibiabus.com

Again, I am not a professional and I'm making no attempt to teach anyone how to do their own projects. Always check with your local area before working on a project like this.

What a cool project and nicely done! Curious why you went with a traditional door instead of the school bus glass door? or even a traditional door w/ glass....created a blindspot.

Hey mate, nice work! I found your page from the UNILAD vid of your build. Great video...I can definitely concur with some of your points on minimal living as I live in a THOW so there is some cross-over, particularly appreciating lower cost of living and simpler living. But also the worrying about rain! We had leaky roof issues early on and so I too get paranoid now. Subscribed and hope to see more ongoing content :)

Reality check: So you know how much one of those things cost? I too have a lift to remove. It's similar to yours but perhaps a bit newer. I've done another one before on a '95 International Bus. That one came out w/o problems by disconnecting the bolts while the platform was on a pallet on the ground. Now I'm dealing with an 2011 vehicle and a Recon Klear View lift. The whole bus/lift looks still brand new. To get to the point: I called Recon to get an idea how much these things cost in order to come up with an asking price once I have it removed. Scrapping it would be criminal because a new Klear View type costs $10k. And that's just the lift. Want one installed by the Recon Company? Brace yourself, because that will be another $5k extra. I assume that would include the various hardware needed to safeguard students inside the bus. There may be some nonprofit elder care or similar organisations who depend on donations to acquire vans etc for transporting lesser abled persons, children etc who would take that off your hands, possibly pay a modest amount of money to have it installed in one of their vans. Or you could donate it to such an organization, estimate a reasonable value and use that as a tax deduction (I'm sure Donnie Trump would ;- ) No matter what, scrapping it does not seem a best choice. Good luck.

This is the best, most concise review out there. You touched all the key points! I have been hovering over the “buy it now” button for days, but I think I will hold off. It pains me to pay so much for something like this as much as I want AC that is capable of running without shore power. I think the main problem is that this is such a unique unit which in reality is very simple mechanically. However the size of the components means that they can charge a premium. It’s a niche market. Until they can make this in the $400 range I can’t stomach the price.

Great solution to the whole 2-door / arms and levers mess of hardware that was the original. How's it holding up after a few years? I first thought it would be too much weight for only the front hinges, but after seeing the size of the bearing and shaft you had to cut off, I think it's plenty beefy.
