I’m back. - Admittedly, not as soon as I would’ve liked - | It’s been a while | Vlog 2
It’s been about a week since I last flogged and I did not mean to leave it that long. I meant to daily Vlog, so I guess this is day one again. But if it ends up being a weekly blog, it does end up being a weekly blog I guess we will see how this week goes and I will keep you updated as to anything that might happen. In the meantime, please, tell me about what you have planned for your upcoming holiday weekends

This is my favourite gadget and it probably cost me the least amount of money. Like $20 and it makes the biggest difference. On Saturday, April 6, I took a really bad fall in my chair and flipped backwards on the ramp leading up to my apartment. My shoulders and neck are feeling it, but I most worry about my chair as it’s nine years old and it’s frame has been creaking. I know this was not the fall for it or for me. I am seeking medical attention. and talking to the apartment block everything that much more urgent. F...

The Hard Truth Living With A Disability & Working

This whole situation is hard to believe for me even now. That said, I think when we all realize our privilege(s) we also allow ourselves to see from a different point of view. I can see how people may think disability discrimination and the mini barriers persons with disabilities face could not be possible it's 2022 after all. Acceptance Is a funny thing. We have it and then we don't. When I'm stressed out I mostly l8sten to loud music and stim. I will often listen to the same song over and over, but I aleo have dozens of playlists to choose from as well. I also play my favorite games. I also have oral stims like chewelry and many many fidgets like popits and those bendy straw like tube things. When I have some available I'll drink iced red tea.

    Depending upon the nature of my stress, I calm down by playing various genres of video game (turn-based is nice when spasms are having a party), listen to music, listen to a podcast (sometimes while playing a video game), or read. Petting a cat definitely helps when they are agreeable, and I prioritize time with friends whenever possible (I am extroverted.).

    Nice to see you again, but sorry to hear how stressful things are. I hope the bus pass and chair stuff works out. I deal with anxiety too with my CP… I usually listen to audiobooks or read if I’m stressed or play a cozy game. I’ve been following you for years but I’ve split my CP videos into my second channel (Evie’s Hangout). I’ll follow you from there as well, so if you see other comments from that channel, it’s a fellow CP gal 💚 Keep your head up and know that you got someone rooting for you in my little corner of the internet

    When I have stress, I play some chess. Lol, I know that rhymes but it's true, I play chess or do some gardening, or some other activity that's not related to the stressful situation. Hang in there, everything's gonna work out, you'll get your bus pass and it'll be just fine. I live and work here in California but I wish I could just drop everything and drive up there to Winnipeg and find a house with wheelchair access, a house big enough for the two of us and for our children that we would have together. Lol, I know it's just a fantasy but you really are a beautiful human being, Mindy, and I love you❤Sending great big hugs and kisses your way🤗 P.S. Remember what I said, keep your head up high everything's gonna work out fine for you, you watch and see!😊Willem

    That's really cool! Is there a rubber pad on it so the cup won't slip? I learned a long time ago to always just leave a good inch at the top, and that works for me.

    • @livingmycplife
      @livingmycplife 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t know how it works. There is some kind of weight in the bottom that keeps everything straight, but it does have a a very thin, not quite rubber, but somewhat rubbery coaster on top that you put the actual cup on, it’s not quite rubber or silicone, even though it looks like it.

    • @justpedal65
      @justpedal65 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @livingmycplife It (the cup and liquid) just stay parallel to the momentum forces that cause sloshing. Another way to look at it - the cup and spillnot just "moves with" the slosh motion, thus squashing (negating) any momentum of said slosh. And yes... I'm a math nerd. 😁

    The "CP is non-progressive" line is very frustrating to me because while it's technically true as far as the underlying issue, it ignores the reality that most of us will face worsening symptoms over time. That transition would have been much easier for me if I had been prepared for it at all. I even had a few people gaslight me when I described things like worsening symptoms given that "non progressive" has been drilled into so many people's heads regarding CP.

    We are not forewarned about the extreme pain(s) that will occur starting in the late 20's. I don't think CP has been studied well. Sure, there are doctors for babies and up to the age of 18 . During the young adult life, and older, there are no doctors who specializes in CP. I have to carefully monitor myself. The pain can be extremely painful. I had to say no to a lot of things on account of my painful condition. I can't overdo on certain things. Yes, it's frustrating when aging with CP.

These things have been so difficult for me to accept, but I cannot begin to tell you how much videos like this have been giving me comfort! There just doesn't seem to be many people who understand what this is like... Or people that can explain what may happen to us as we age. Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
