What are forgotten dailies?
To me, they are the cars we used to see on the roads daily. The daily drivers. The cars that people bought, drove to work on a daily basis. Not all of these cars were destined to be classics or to remain in nice condition.
We hunt for those cars to try to help save the ones that survived their daily duties. Many of these cars were neglected and left to go back to nature and forgotten about. We find these cars and we drag them to the shop and we remove all of the parts we can to help save those that have survived or are being revived and given a second life.
We also on occasion, find one that needs to be revived. We either try to do that ourselves, or find them a good home.
We can be considered a forgotten dailies rescue!!!
We LOVE these old Chrysler Turbo Cars. We have a few of our own and we also run an ebay store under forgotten dailies where we list all of the parts from these cars that we get in.

Cool video. Far different than i thought. I would have been interested to here the other differences I always thought it was wild that the Mazerattis top was manual
@johnnyturbo8460 thanks. They didn't have room for the pump etc. Plus with the hardtop that was hard to remove unless had at least 2 people.
@forgottendailiesllc Fair enough. 😁👍
My speedometer is not working anymore on my 89 Lebaron 2.5 turbo. Any ideas?
This video is going to help me a lot! Thanks.
@Geo24400 you are welcome! If need any other how to we will do our best to get it done.
Glad to see you doing what you do. We love our cars and people like you help us keep them running
Thank you. I tell my wife id happily quit my regular job to do this if it was more consistent. I love doing this.
Awesome Matt, I've owned daytonas since I was 16 and now 40 years old, similar stories man! Done auto service and been a parts man, keep up the work these cars mean a lot to certain people.
My first car was a Shelby Charger in 1991. Loved that car. That's what got me hooked onto them. Thank you and we will keep going as long as I'm able.
That sure is a lot of chit man lol. Too bad it wasn't all NOS parts. It sure take's alot of time and money to get parts re-popped. It would be great if you could eventually become the Year One of 80's FWD Mopar parts. I agree these cars now after all the decades finally deserve some recognition.
@pmafterdark idk about getting that big at my age but id definitely like to be the go to person on many of these items. And it does suck it is difficult and expensive to get things going but that's the goal I've been working towards.
Heck yeah
Gonna be busy for awhile
Wow, quite a haul 😎👍
Wanna come help me get it organized?
Those were awesome cars I had a 86 but the best ones were the one you got there the 1987 GLHS was and is the best Shelby Charger of them all only 1000 of them cars were built it's too bad that thing is so rough
@79tazman it's definitely rough but save able. It's on the list to get in but who knows when that actually will be. I had a regular 87 Shelby Charger as my first car.
I hate everything about winter too! I do like Chrysler A 555 transaxles though. Do you have a good starter harness from any of the Daytonas? Nice drive though of a typical midwestern city in winter. The older houses are so much nicer then the cheap houses that are being put up by the dozens right on top of each other nowadays. I’m looking forward to getting back to working on the Daytona as soon as possible. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming!!!
How do we contact you for parts?
Our ebay store link and email are both in the description.
I agree on both counts. Keep it stock, and winter sucks!
Absolutely!! Keep the car so it can be driven and enjoyed
Man that takes me back. I had a red 86 when I was in high school. It was a 5 spd with power mirrors and doors black leather interior and t tops. I couldn't even begin to imagine the miles I put on it cruising with my friends
That one would make a good driver with a few months of work. Way better than the last two Daytonas you had.
Yeah the last 2 were rough. If didn't gave the glh and glhs and Dakota Convertible id be more interested in this one.
Do you ever sell any of those T2 radiators? I briefly talked to you a while back on one of the facebook pages about my situation with a 89 Shelby Daytona, bottom couple rows rotted out and started leaking. Dropped it off at the only radiator shop in my area a month ago and they still havent even looked at it yet. I’m in no hurry as the car is parked for the winter but just looking into options on what i can do to get it back on the road.
@JoeFpoc the problem is idk anything about them. Id love to find a place to get them redone eventually. Id sell them once i can figure out id they are good. Just so busy I don't really have the time. I have to find someone to do some other work for me because I can't get the free time to do it
@ i tested mine by using a radiator pressure tester and plugged all the holes with old radiator hoses and giant clamps and sprayed the whole thing down with soap but yeah kind of a pain in the butt. What other option do i have? Can i run a full-size radiator and just relocate the inter cooler?
@JoeFpoc that's probably what we will do. Just trying to get caught up but that never seems to happen either. If you relocate the ic, then you will need to redo the hoses too.
Always nice to find another Z. I hope it can be saved. You sure got a lot of parts with it. Too bad they weren't all NOS like the last one. I'm in the northeast, so you don't even need to ask me how I feel about the cold weather lol.
Yeah i would love to find another big haul of nos stuff!! It's almost 50 here today, back to 17 in a few days
Nothing cooler than a T-top G body. I could be absolutely wrong but I thought those black plastic side skirt extensions were only on the 84 Turbo Z. I personally never saw them on 85 or 86 models. I do remember the problems Dodge had in 84 with them getting warped and torn up from curbs, speed bumps and debris on the road. It was a common problem in 84 just like the hood latch.
The front air fence and side skirts were on 84' through 86' models.
@pmafterdark I'm talking about the flat black flexible plastic skirts that went 3 inches to the ground. No the painted Turbo Z ground effects
@@JCVACCARO That's what I was talking about. Those were on 84' through 86' models.
@@pmafterdark Maybe. I just remember back in 85 when I worked at a NJ Dodge dealer they stopped shipping them for much of 85 because they were easily damaged. Also the ones under the rocker panel ground effects were prone to being ripped off at highway speeds. They were not very good at all.
@@JCVACCARO I do agree that they were easily damaged but I had a new one in 84', and both 85' and 86' models over the decades and they all had them.

Really enjoy you finding these cars. They were everywhere when I was in high school, but I rarely ever see them now.

I have a 88 Daytona the person before me gronwd down the sway bar to fit the wrong bushings. I was wondering if you have a sway bar for a 88.
@@toddpiper5992 for the front? Currently all we would have is from a 1985. Id have the check numbers to see if the same
hows the heater core and stuff work on a 84 new yorker? the 2.2 turbo... im getting no warmth, its got the digital dash
You want to know how to remove it? I can do a video on that one a daytona, it will be similar to your new yorker
@@forgottendailiesllc that would be fantastic, i cant wrap my head around it and it would be nice to have working again
@MilesPrower69420 it's more time consuming than difficult honestly. I will work on one for you.
My 89 Daytona has crappy floors, wheel well rusted out in the same spot and kinda freaked me out when i put my foot over there while driving and felt the tire rubbing lol. I just kinda ghetto fixed the floor with random metal since I couldn’t find any pans. I might have saved that deck lid for the heck of it just cause its so easy to remove and just throw it outside behind the garage and let it rust
@JoeFpoc our glh is kinda like that. Luckily we found pretty nice floors in a Horizon we parted. The way our property is set up there is no "behind " the garage. Anything outside is visible from any direction. That is why we are looking into moving to a commercial property.
@ hopefully, the more room the better. We are in area unincorporated so plenty of room to hoard a bunch of junk, but most of it is junk now that it has sat outside for so long. Was into full-size Chevys for years so have tons of parts cause you never know you might need them one day
@JoeFpoc we have great neighbors. Most of our small inventory is in totes in our basement. We have a 2.5 car garage and 18x40 building but out of room lol
Always sad to see a first gen. Daytona go to the crusher but that rust was pretty bad and at least parts were saved to help other cars. I know it's too late now but was that the original muffler and what sort of shape was it in?
@@pmafterdark i agree. The muffler was an aftermarket .
@@forgottendailiesllc Oh okay. wasn't sure from the little bit I saw.
@pmafterdark i think I have one around here somewhere. I think i kept it for someone but can't remember
@@forgottendailiesllc If you do and it's in really nice shape let me know.
@pmafterdark if i find it. It's probably not here anymore but I do remember cutting one off at some point in time.
About finished with mt 1984 GLH rust repair. People have no idea what it takes to fix a rusty car like that. It was a learning experience for me, but I don't think I would attempt it again.

@Daytona1988Z that is in the works. It will take more time but is being planned. I'm hoping to get my wife to run the camera.
Have no plans on dropping the axle on my 84' turbo z but was still pretty cool to see how it's done. Yup, the underside of that Daytona had some serious rot going on. At least it can go to help other cars whole again.

@alcapozzi2611 awesome! We have an 86 GLHT but it isn't "nice"
that's a cool truck
I like it alot! And I love the wheels on it
Step side bed that thing. That would be pretty sweet. Then the stacks would pay some homage to the lil red express truck. Also the top should be pretty straight forward. I put a new 1 on my 15 wrangler about 3 years ago. Biggest thing is leave it out in the sun to get relaxed and easier to work with. I did that all by myself. Just takes some time is all. Also them 318 with a 5 speed run pretty well in them things. My buddy had 1 and I drove it a few times. Made me miss my 92 I had. Good luck with the truck
Id love a step side but those are very difficult to locate as well. Id considered a 5 speed but I want more of a cruiser so I'll keep the automatic. Id love to do the top this fall but idk if it will remain warm enough here.
Don't know if you could have a regular Dakota side window custom cut for what you need? Never say never. After about a year I finally found the outside driver's seat latch I was looking for at a Dodge Dealer. Never thought I'd find it, especially not NOS.
Idk if they can cut tempered glass or not. We won't give up looking. But would like to find something even if temporary
Finally got one 😎👍
Yeah! It's pretty nice too considering what it is.
I had a 98 Plymouth Neon Expresso that i bought of a buddy it spent more time and money fixing it then i paid for the car and that was back in 2002-2005, Then I traded it in for a new Stratus R/T coupe when the salesmen looked at the wrong spot in the value book and offerend me more i took it and ran lmao.
@TheMillertime30 nothing wrong with having a good day at the dealership normally it's the other way around!!
Those neons were junk when brand new and still complete junk.
Yup they sure were and still are. Total garbage and not worth a single red cent.
