Trisled Custom Electric Handcycle Quick Look
I have one of these in a rack at home what was a historic change and lead to the dagger RMP its called the transition... a fun boat that will surf in the sea and handle white water th-cam.com/video/K-ITWmubN9M/w-d-xo.html
i thought polypropylene is the tough material, not polyethylene?
I guess this is for racing... Looks super practical for that. For a road/commuter model, would want/expect: full suspension... some way to deal with rain, and maybe some storage.
That thing looks super stable around the bends , good job 👍..
Very interesting, how much does it weigh? Thank you Bri
Looking forward to seeing some performance testing charts when they become available... knowing the rate of impact during races and how detrimental it is to present velomobiles... I predict, with the added ability to shrug off just about everything that comes into contact with the Skyhawk is going to push Trisled supply and demand beyond anything seen before...
Look forward to seeing how these look after shunts and rollovers. The white powdered skidmarks after corners might become multicoloured in the future.
This reminds me of when rotomolded kayaks first came out and we know where that went

That loooong front overhang always looks so crazy to me. Nice to see they put your velomobile on their ads; hopefully more people try them!
it looks great. i wish it was european made. doesn't make much sense to import such a bulky item from australia
For me, it's the most beautiful HDPE velomobile that I know. I will follow with impatience the continuation of its evolution. I really find it a shame that Trisled is not better known in France. Will there be a version approved for the road? I could see myself going to work every day in Trisled Skyhawk. thank you very much for your ingenuity and for such a beautiful result already 👍👍👍👍👍
Are they not legal everywhere a bicycle is legal, in France? In the US, velomobiles are not regulated separately from bicycles, so trails & <45MPH streets are allowed unless otherwise specified... ?
Nice work Ben and great to meet you in Adelaide last week, I can’t wait to get our upgraded bike back! Cheers Andrew
Very, very nice. Wish I'd had the time to get to Energy Breakthrough this year and watch some of the crash protection and roll cages in use.
Do they heat the mold in an oven, take it out, put the granules in, then spin it? Or do they put it in an oven after putting the granules inside? Also, that type of plastic is tough and a bit flexible. I'm guessing that a thinner shell would be lighter and still strong enough. The competition, glass fiber, carbon fiber, etc., are not as flexible and they crack. That means they have to be thicker so they don't flex, and they're heavier because of that.
Dude is touching the mold with bare forearms; pretty sure they put the beads in, then spin & heat it.
@@prophetzarquon Excellent point.
I am curious if they are rotating it on only one axis how they get good distribution of the pellets. Or is there some more movement going on?
@@mechanismguy That is a great question. The oven is not very tall but the mechanism must also lift and lower the front of the mold in addition to spinning it.
4.00 minutes in and I'm all emotional.... 🥰 I miss the Old Mk1 Bus.... glad she's being looked after
so simple so beautiful
Great job Ben , the body came out very well , and the mechanicals look like a work of art.👍.
Great video - I love seeing the process!
You do some great work. I love the innovation of the design and reduce environmental impact. It represents the concept of the sport perfectly.
A very insightful video, thank you! How long does it take at Melro between starting to pour the granulate into the mould and having the velomobile body taken out of it?
About 45min
@@TriSled Thank you! So at full production rate that would be about 10 velomobiles per day or 3500 per year! *dreaming* 😁😇😜 In any case your velomobiles and even more so your company are very inspiring! 👍
What's the weight on the new velo?
Still to be finalised
Wow, amazing job Ben, looks great! Is this second mould any lighter than the first?
Yes
Exciting developments....
Awesome vehicle! Need to get one in the UK!
Simons aged well
pragmatic. Thanks for sharing. Hope your thumbs are ok 😉
Have you developed these farther resently ?
Great Video, I really enjoyed it . Back in my early days I used to be a postman on a PMG (Post Office) Red treadly with one gear... Happy Times.
I'm designing and building my own velomobile. This is fascinating. Would be amazing to be able one day to do manufacturing like that
damn with that black looks, seems like e deathly machine, fast, low, and black.
OMG your a legend, I love my GT20 but I now live in an area with rough trails. I’m also a disabled rider so than motor assist is a game changer👍👍👍
Where is the track at?
A very fast tricycle!
Guessing the train won that race track speed 50km/h faster than road speed and all.
Wait.. is it #1PETE, #2 HDPE?? Theres different kinds of Polyethylene, can you be more specific?
OK, that's a great looking human-powered race vehicle, but you've gotta know a velomobile with looks like that, would be highly desirable! Maybe in safety colors, though? 🦺😅
The 2 important things to find out are whether you get that same lovely trike on asphalt sound when the trike is going wheels up and that distinctive smell of abraded composite. It actually looks like a big step forward in trike production. What sort weight difference is envisioned between a composite trike and the rotomoulded ones?
Wonderful Design. 🤗🤩
Great job ! Maybee one day Powerd by your dog.😂
Looks really cool , if I was a younger bloke and half the man I am now I’d love one of those. Nice job .
thought i was coming here to laugh and the crashes are no joke but , having raced road tours and velodrome also MTB having some good crashes in down hill, ya crashes do come off looking a bit of a joke.
Or maybe you are just really really tough?
As the new shell is so aerodynamically sculptured, I have to ask, what do you plan for internal cooling as there are no ducts visible?
Good question. It's going to get into the 30 degree plus temps very soon where I live in Australia. What do these climb like? Do I have to have Tadej's legs to climb my local hills?
As a Dutchman we ride a lot with ditches next to the road, containing water. What if this bike gets into one, overturns and you find yourself upside down in a relatively narrow ditch? Is there a quick release for the hood at the hinges? Otherwise a rider gets trapped inside. I realize that in Australia you may have few ditches with water alongside roads, but here they are the rule almost. Thanks!
Skyhawk is not a Velomobile! It’s a hpv racing specific vehicle.
And additional to trisled: if you look for statistics for this type of accident in Germany, these people are trinken guys on upright bikes. Trunken, sometimes no light, crashing into a ditch, getting unconscious, dying in a view cm water … happens once in a while near Karlsruhe
About how many watts does it take for 30, 40, 50 and 60kph with Scorchers?
*^* Asking the important questions, right here
@@prophetzarquon Thank you sir. It is an amazing looking HPV, and I like that it incorporates a relatively easy to manufacture body. The design makes it fast and comfortable so there is a lot to like about it.
@@casualguy393 Yes indeed! Even though I'm sure a race build like this wouldn't be so fun to use as a "daily driver", it's so refined _and_ pretty, that it makes me wish for a commuter version!
It's a shame that Italy is far from Australia... I envy you so much! 🤣
I made the opening shot 💪
Awesome shot! 👍
That’s brilliant ❤
really creative and eye-catching 🥰
If you can't beat them, join them (barriers)
The beard is lookin' cool, Ben! Oh, and nice bike - should bounce better in the pedal prix prangs!
Oh that is SO cool! Great work!
