How An Unorthodox Pitcher Destroyed Everyone
#mlb #Timlincecum #baseball
He had a high-leg kick, an over the top arm slot, a late release point and one of the most unorthodox pitching motions in baseball. Tim lincecum’s unconventional methods, and smaller stature, led many scouts to question whether he would be equally as effective at the MLB level, but as it would turn out, his uncanny delivery and deception, would be his greatest weapon. His long hair and three seasons of utter dominance, would make him a household name. So just how did this quirky, eccentric pitcher set the MLB on fire, and how did his pitching mechanics, ultimately lead to his demise?

There Will Never Be Another Ken Griffey Jr

#kengriffeyjr #baseball #griffeyjr Ken Griffey Junior was one of the most physically gifted players to ever step onto a big league diamond. He didn’t need to juice. Neither did Barry Bonds. But Bonds, also the son of a major leaguer, took a different path, whereas Junior refused to inject synthetic hormones into his body. Much of Junior’s career must be seen from this context: his peers, McGwir...

Given all this, It’s no surprise that he's no longer in the spotlight. BUT, what If i told you that Trevor Bauer is a misunderstood superstar...
Baseball Has An Angel Hernandez Problem

#mlb #baseball #angelhernandez Angel Hernandez has been an MLB umpire for 31 years, yet despite all this experience, he is the worst umpire in MLB history. Angel has blown several calls, is overly confrontational and even tried suing MLB for discrimination. In a 2018 players' poll conducted by ESPN, he was voted as the worst umpire in the league, with 22% of players identifying him. In 2023, An...
Baseball Has A Gambling Problem

#mlb #mlbgambling #baseball Baseball has a gambling problem. A huge one. This isn’t a new issue, just one that’s been swept under the rug and continues every year whenever there’s a new incident regarding a player, a coach, or anyone that has the power to affect the outcome of an actual baseball game. This has been happening throughout MLB history, incidents involving gambling and game rigging ...
The 7 Deadly Sins as MLB Teams
มุมมอง 76K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
#baseball #mlb The seven deadly sins are a grouping of vices classified by the Christian faith as pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony and sloth. Throughout history these 7 deadly sins have been used to label individuals and their sinful actions and today were going to apply Major League Baseball. There are 7 teams that I believe represent the seven deadly sins and I’ll be going over them ...
How Good Was Barry Bonds Actually?
มุมมอง 208K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
#barrybonds #mlb #baseball Barry Bonds. Even the name itself conveys an air of controversy. No player in the one-hundred plus year history of the MLB was so dominant at the plate. Never before had fans witnessed a player with such precise vision, with so much pop in his bat. Someone so intimidating, that opposing managers time and time again elected to pitch around him, rather than face the con...

How A High-School Dropout Became An MLB Superstar

From the latest statistics from 2021, the average salary of a high school drop-out was $32,500, which puts you just above the poverty line. That’s kinda like the Mendoza Line of Life. Baseball Has A Pitching Problem
มุมมอง 1.9M9 หลายเดือนก่อน
#mlb #baseball Today’s major league pitchers are throwing faster than ever before. Batters are striking out more than ever before. “Pitching wins championships.” This old baseball quote was true some one-hundred years ago when it was first spoken, and has not, and will not change. What has changed however is the manner in which teams approach pitching. The methods used to scout, train, and util...

barry bonds and mark Mcguire used steroids
Bauer looked overweight in Mexico last season. But he pitched well. Maybe he gets a shot.
One of the reasons why pitching or bending elbows is not allowed in cricket
That's not true about the 99 season. His homeruns and OPS were great. He just had less at bats because of the injury. And people try to talk about juice. He was the last one really to do it since everyone else was and was still a million times better than them but no one thinks he took anything in the 90s and look how great he was in the 90s. And not just his hitting; the huge amount of stolen bases and great base running with great defense.
I know nothing about baseball but I always enjoy some hood statistics😊
I love when non-athletic people try make sense of motion in sports scientifically, and use the word unorthadox.
The first no hitter he threw against the Padres, he pitched a complete game of course, making 138 pitches. Another odd thing about this game is that Scutaro never made a play in the game, if my memory serves me correctly.
148 pitches
As a lover or rapist? Hes a much better ballplayer.
Should have retired early.
I wanted to stay out of this one cause I have mixed feelings about it. I'll ask this question, does ROIDS help you see the ball better? Not that I know of. Do ROIDS make you a better batter? This I mean the amount of skill it takes to have the hand and eye coordination? The only thing I know about steroids is this. Steroids will make you stronger, you will vain more weight. Never have I seen in a MLB a person so feared they walked this man with the bases loaded. Who else was taking the butt needles at the same time as Bonds? The league was full of people that were juicing back then. All I have seen over the years is if you are on top of your game and there is a gap between player A and player B, then that man or woman is on ROIDS!!!The sports writers will tear down anyone that is better then them. OK maybe that's a stretch, but is it? How many years did the sporting world go after an American Icon? This mam made over a billion dollars to fight cancer. The person I'm talking about is in fact Mr. Lance Armstrong. He won what was it 5 no, 6 no, it had to have been 7 Tour De Frances in a row!!!! That to me is one of the greatest performances ever done. But we had to tear this man down, even years later after the man retired, they wanted blood!!! They did the same thing with Mr. Barry Bonds.
The problem is worse than you think man. Top little league pitchers even have to be careful not to hurt themselves.
What about a speed limit? Pitching consistent with skill would be awarded instead of brute force ^^
wow this guy really likes balls.
Big Time Timmy Jim!
I lived one block from Pac Bell parks during the Giants reign. Some really great times. The rare games I missed I’d watch on tv. It was time delayed so I would hear the roar of the crowds and knew I would see magic on the tv.
It's pronounced wuhster, not Wor-chester massachusetts
You use the word 'inevitably' too much. How was it inevitable that Tim wouldn't be able to pitch in the all star game because of an illness? The way you use it is more like a form of punctuation instead of a word that has meaning.
He was a NUTTER
The GOAT for me. Bonds still up there for me too but damn… tarnished. I have all but one of his RCs.
I have no idea why this video was recommended to me as I haven't watched baseball in years... BUT Timmy was my favorite pitcher during those years!! Something something about those who burn brightly.
Thank you Tim!!!
Big time Timmy jim is one of my all-time favorites
The team destroyed his career by overplaying him. Just a shame
He looks like mitch from Dazed and Confused
I'll remember Barry as a Top 5 dead or alive, thank you very much
Why not move the pitchers 10-15yds further away?
He was NEVER proven to take steroids. We all know he most likely did take them but this is America and its favorite pastime. Where is the innocent till proven guilty? Why isn’t every single player during that era not allowed in the HOF? The voters are a joke and don’t like Bonds personally which should disqualify them from voting on anyone. He’s the GOAT and it’s not even close. The list of full teams and players that have cheated and benefited is endless. So many double standards and it’s a big reason why no one cares about the sport anymore!
Bonds juice period started around age 35 Age 25-29: .310 BA, .604 SLG%, Average one HR every 13.9 at bats Age 30-34: .294 BA, .600 SLG%, Average one HR every 13.2 at bats Age 35-39: .339 BA, .781 SLG%, Average one HR every 8.2 at bats Juice definitely helped him, although his pre-juice career should still qualify him for HOF.
@ his first and second half of his career could both separately get him into the HOF. Crazy how he’s not in
NOT san fran, NEVER san fran… also, no question about it, barry lamar bonds is the greatest ever…
Barry would easily hit 80 HRs in this era of baseball…pitchers ERA are like 2.7-3.2
Looks and pitches like Josh Hader.
He was the main reason the Seattle Mariners had any relevance in the 90s. He was fun to watch, whether you saw him in person at the Kingdome, on TV, or even on a highlight clip on ESPN, you were guaranteed to see him do something amazing.
Trout’s career is not a Tragedy. Try being traded from a Team 4 years earlier you were their number 1 pick. You got to their big club in less than a year. Then with 4 days before the Season you get Traded knowing the Team your on will be a contender but your the guy they must trade to get the lefty reliever that will win the MVP and CY Young Awards while your team goes on to Win the WS. Then the following year your on the All Star Team and The Manager from your old Team is the Manager of the opposing All Star Team.
Early in his career he could hit 99. He had gas.
I recognize him - he was born Steve Salland in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Barry Bonds is without a doubt the greatest hitter of all time.

Pitching is a brutal job. It is extremely rough on the body. That is why Nolan Ryan's records will probably never be topped. Almost nobody pitches a full game these days, and nobody will last that many years anymore. Tim can hold his head up high. He earned the respect of his peers in his all-too brief career.
Barry had the best hand eye coordination, bat speed, swing, and plate discipline I have ever seen. He could make the HOF with his numbers before steroids. He had a couple of seasons left despite no one picking him up.
5 seasons of dominance, dummy..
He will NEVER be in the H.O.F..! He's an arrogant jerk! He didn't need the steroids to make it to Cooperstown, but he just couldn't resist.
The Pirates outpaying other teams to steal their players? Kind of more of an ironic title now. 🤣
Anyone connected to steroids will always have a tainted legacy. Period . Guys were cancelled before canceling was a thing 😂
I will never understand how can someone enjoy watching baseball.
A whole lot of players, even the very good ones were taking PEDs but they weren't doing what Bonds was doing.
Inevitably? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Hest the most destructive hitter of all time
Hes the greatest destroyer of the baseball ever
It's a tragedy? But he still makes 40 million dollars a year. And has millions. What a tragedy!!
You're forgetting one major factor, and Trevor Bauer pointed it out almost regularly. The league also implemented regularly checking for sticky stuff. The sticky stuff added major rotation, which in turn made sliders, spliters, and curveballs incredibly harder to hit. Adding to strike outs majorly. You take that away and add a ball that can fly better boom more Hr's!
perfect video
IN 1978 44 million people watched the world series. in 2020, 9 million people watched the world series (both 6 game events), thats a rather MASSIVE problem, baseball needs to address this and stop pretending its doing fine.
