    Fantastic video.
    Watching Trevor on Momentum and on his own TH-cam channel, I cannot see how anyone can question his love and dedication to baseball. He has said he made mistakes, he also admitted he is socially awkward and that meeting and talking to people isn't easy for him. Watching his videos you see his thought process about working out and how he goes into preparing for a start. Bauer's biggest issue is he made light of an issue baseball wanted hidden and for the audacity of showing emotion and being a character on the mound. In a world where in the NFL after scoring a TD we have whole team choreographed celebrations, pumping your chest, or having a celebration after a big strikeout is just too much.

    • @Improudofyou99
      @Improudofyou99 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      No one ever questioned his love for the game. Where is this even coming from? Bauer's biggest issue is wanting all the attention/drama with none of the blowback. You look at how he left the Dbacks and the Indians/Guardians and why he has rubbed people the wrong way. I'm not criticizing him for his shortcomings because we all have them, but asking why no team will sign him it's because he makes it all about him and what he's doing.

    • @maxwellpruner2168
      @maxwellpruner2168 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Improudofyou99 Thank you. I feel this is so obvious it doesn't merit mention, but the majority of comments seem to completely miss it: Trevor Bauer is a great baseball player and a dysfunctional human. There's nothing wrong with being erudite and eccentric, and I find it admirable in such a traditional sport. You can't expect everyone else to understand and immediately accept it though. Gerrit Cole was probably a pretentious ass in college, but he and Bauer could have learned so much from each other if either was willing to give the other the time of day. Bauer's first coaches were probably stuck in their traditional ways of coaching for the past umpteenth years, but if he'd approach them with humility and bring them around to his curious approach he could've evolved the sport. What I see as Trevor's flaw is he thinks everyone is below him; he doesn't have the patience nor would deign to explain his process. If you want to be revolutionary, you need to meet the game where it is and cordially walk it hand in hand toward a new identity. Trevor seems to just want to show everyone up to get back at all the bullies in his past, to show them he was really the man. He'll eventually realize this doesn't help. He endured abuse he never deserved, but self-worth comes from self-actualization, not callously giving the finger to everyone in charge. To me, it's never seemed like his playing the game is really about the game to him, it's about his image. For someone seemingly so enamored with baseball, that's the real tragedy IMO. The world loves you, Trevor. Love it back and share your knowledge graciously, and you will be rewarded

I started following CloseCallSports, a TH-cam channel that breaks down ejections, a couple years ago, and love watching Jomboy breakdowns as well. Trevor became the only baseball player I follow last year. The videos from his year in Japan were incredible. He not only showed his training, and broke down games he was in, but also showed how he was a fish out of water learning a new culture in Japan. He's pretty entertaining. What I don’t understand is how people are thinking that Trevor needs to listen to them. Like just think about it, why would Trevor even be a professional if he needed to be coached? Obviously coaches are meant to instruct you but the only reason they are able to is because you yourself don’t know the sport as well as them. Trevor has dedicated his whole life to baseball so he obviously knows what he’s doing. The real problem is that some people don’t understand Trevor’s mindset. What I say is that if it works then it works and Trevor puts up the numbers to back up everything he says so I say we should listen to him and see him as the high level professional athlete he is instead of looking down on him for no apparent reason.

    I love Bauer. I think he’s made some petty and dumb choices but I think he’s a unique individual who was hardened and somewhat jaded by a narrow minded society and sport in particular. His dedication to helping kids who are bullied is a testament to his history and character. MLB pitchers, even stars, young and veteran have looked to him for guidance with their craft, which shows the obsolescence and limitations of the state of pitching coaching philosophy across the league.
    Let’s be real here- the league blackballed him because he was a whistleblower against the pitchers cheating. The false accusations made against him gave the league the opportunity to follow through with their desire to expel him.
    He was right about the league’s integrity. He was right about Manfred, who is simply an awful commissioner. There are players who have been convicted of domestic abuse and sexual assault who received next to no punishment for their crimes by the commissioner. Totally hypocritical.
    If Manfred and the league want to show any integrity now, they ought to reinstate him, paid his back pay, and publicly apologize to him.
    The Mets should sign him right now. The city would totally embrace him and once he has NYers supporting him, he will be able to fearlessly enact more change for the better. Seriously, the people of NYC will totally love him.

    90% of the issues with him was he saw limitations of clean pitching ( without “cheating”) and called it out years ago and after being blamed as a spear head for the rise of cheating he backed off. Where the real problem is over 5 or 6 games in the 9th his rpm went up an impossible amount then a year before his big contract offer he was all the sudden throwing 3000s when before that he could rarely hit 1500rpm throws. Trevor Bauer cheated but he cheated in the way that everyone else did so instead shaking the whole sport apart they canned him so the approach to getting rid of all cheating ether doesn’t happen or happens very very slowly

    I'd also like to add Mookie Betts himself, arguably a player than everyone likes in this sport, spoke up and wanted to see Bauer coming back to the sport, just knowing how his talent is something good for the game of baseball itself.
    If you ask me, I don't think Bauer will be able to come back to the MLB. The world doesn't believe in second chances, are reactionary, and are hypocrites. It's unfortunate and we just have to accept that. I mean, every time his name is brought up on social media, it just brings messy commentary. Even with his name cleared, all the commentary around him just isn't worth to sign him due to opposing arguments, people won't shut up about it, even though yes, he deserves to come back to the MLB.
    I just hope his content on baseball, with his colleagues (who on camera seem genuine nice people, literally, just watch Momentum. Eric Sim while loud, is just a loveable big guy, and the fact that someone like him is really good friends with Bauer, really throws off the, 'unapproachable' narrative, otherwise I wouldn't think Sim would be his friend), will inspire all baseball fans and future talented prospects, moving the game of baseball forward in a positive path.

      A Cy Young award winner for league minimum which is only a couple hundred thousand is always worth it. Especially now with so many teams in need of arms. There is something that prevents his signing beyond the disproven claims and him potentially being a bad influence to team chemistry. He's such a steal that I expect that the MLB (Manfred) influenced the teams not to sign him. And I hate conspiracy theories and find it very hard to believe the MLB would actually do such a thing. But this is literally unexplainable, a Cy Young winner entering his prime for under 1million? Let's be real..

      @@m.o.5291 Yeah, I totally agree. It's such a ridiculous ordeal. It's hard to believe there is an unexplainable reason why 1 out of 30 teams in the MLB are unwilling to sign a competent pitcher.

    The “media” aspect of all of this creates a certain perception both ways. It is so bad on one end that on the other end, people are retroactively trying to pump up his dominance, when there isn’t much there. Bauer’s cy young was in a shortened season. For a starting pitcher, that no time to prove your dominance, so that isn’t much of an accolade. Only 1 all star appearance that took him 6 years. Bauer was never actually the best pitcher in the league, certainly not for a sustained period of time. The drone thing in the playoffs is a lot worse as a fan than anything. I can’t imagine how disappointing it is expecting an ace to go dominant in the playoffs, only to hurt himself for his media page. It feels this side of the aisle, led by Bauer himself, is trying to get fans to think that sort of thing is cool or normal for pros when it isn’t. Winning is important, that is what fans of franchises want most. Bauer wasn’t exactly winning or pushing the needle for any team.
    Compare him to his idol Tim Lincecum, who in his first 6 years had 4 AS, 2 legit cy youngs, and 2 WS rings. Fantastic playoff debut as well, leading his team in his first October experience. That is true dominance over at least 5 years, from someone who was also a clear student of pitching mechanics. If Bauer’s career looked more decorated, I would understand the blacklisting argument more. I don’t actually believe there is some collusion of people trying to keep him out at this point. It is far more simple to observe that there are plenty of talented pitchers coming up, so why bother with this situation as a team? It would be a personal crusade. He would be an average pitcher at best if he came to MLB right now.
