Great Stuff, Dan. Whatever they do, they are executing their own schemes offensively and defensively. Before recently, there were just game plans without much schemes. You can just see that that was Mike Macdonald's Baltimore defense and that was Ryan Grubb's UW offense. The both were No.1 in NFL and No.1 in College Football. But you gotta admit Pete's a great talent evaluator. Finding guys like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zach Charbonnet, Boye Mafe and Derick Hall shows that even though John was involved, Pete has not lost his touch on college players.

Appreciate your show, always good content. Just FYI, Christian M is going to Germany for a procedure on his achilles tendonitis, looks serious. If he's out for some time that will have a big impact. Also Jason Hargrave appears to have a season ending injury. Go Hawks on Monday and show your consistency in shut down. This defense is amazing and deep.

I think MacDonald's philosophy is to give his guys a chance to shine when they come in. Bradford isn't his guy.

I agree with you on letting the young guys play on the oline but I'm thinking the way injuries go they are probably trying to just coach these guys along , it kind of sucks but it is a long season 😅

I couldn’t disagree more about the line taking years to build. Seahawks have had multiple years to fix it and they haven’t and it’s because the GM doesn’t believe in spending REAL capital on the interior line. Chiefs had a bad line when they lost to Tampa in the Super Bowl where mahomes was running for his life. Look at what they did that offseason. In one offseason, they fixed it and the next year had a one of the best lines. We need to stop being apologist and start holding John accountable for holding this offense back. Negligence at its finest!

Yes, Bryce Young can learn from Geno. Let him sit behind Geno 3 to 4 years, or whenever Geno is done with the NFL. AS a player in the NFL you can grow in some point in your career. Just keep in an open mind. But I do like the idea and you never know what the future might bring. Go Hawks!!!!

My question is how does them having a backup quarterback translate to US putting up more points? That doesn’t make any sense. We kept them from scoring because of the backup quarterback and that’s on our defense, not offense

If the offense starts FAST with a sense of URGENCY we will be 4-0. The defense feeds off that.

105. 125. Is the game getting to be nothing more than gambling spreads? I'm beginning to call the team the SeaDawgs (privately) because those long balls to DK were right out of the Dawgs script last year. They'd do a few run plays, then for no reason whatsoever -- not a 3rd down desperation play or a first down "what the hell" play but a play designed to get touchdowns -- there they'd go. And in nearly all of them, they were successful. Grubb's seahawk offense is doing the same thing. Since I watched every game of the Huskies last year, I recognize the pattern now with the seahawks. The only thing these guys need is to stop with the penalties. Seriously, fine the guys if you have to.

Yeah Eskridge is a legend alright. He made it into the Owen Gill category by doing nothing. Gill was cut during preseason after being a 1st or 2nd Rd pick. I think 2nd. It's been a long time.

should have been 70 to 3 if the Oline played like the first drive the whole game. On bradford I'm gonna guess they are gonna give bradford all the chances but when he finally gets pulled it will be for good and he will get cut or traded maybe next year would be my guess.

Great analysis as always, Dan! Best Hawks podcast imo. Didn't expect a 3-0 start. Defense is already doing great, the O-line still needs time (which we knew from the start, didn't we?). Bradford in his 2nd season still has a lot to learn, but he needs to get his s**t together when it comes to penalties. Geno solid.

The late, great John Clayton used to say that you expect your backup QB to be able to win 50 percent of games they have to start.

with an almost entirely new coaching staff this year, a creaky O-line……3-0 is an incredible start and with the improvement in Offense and Defence in just 3 games…….there is a lot to look forward to

Without that interception from Geno, the D would probably have blanked the Dolphins! Each week is a new test, (and next week is going to be a playoff level one) but I get more and more excited with how the team grows.

I feel bad for BY. He couldn’t have gone to a worse team. The Panthers owner is a strait up idiot. I hope Young is able to get away from his current situation soon, but I see no reason what so ever he would be a fit for the Seahawks. This kid needs good coaching & confidence. I think him setting behind Stafford in LA for a year or two, with one of the better coaches in the league to help mentor him would do wonders to restore his confidence.

It won't happen. They got howell. In the next couple drafts there is multiple qbs grubbs and Schneider is s looking at especially a qb that is playing in grubb scheme. Jalen milroe from bama, moss from usc, ward from miami, manning from texas or the Nebraska qb and Kansas st qb are a couple that I like. But howell has shown me he could be geno replacement. Plus young wasn't the qb I wanted in the 2023 draft. It was stroud and Richardson than Levis. So your right now I believe seattle isn't going to use money and picks for a qb who isn't a general like geno or previously russ

I have no concern because I have faith that John Schneider would never do that. A) We have a back-up that is very capable and B) not going to waste that cap space when we can use that later as you said Dan. Social media clickbait really is annoying.

Bryce Young has to find the path like Baker Mayfield. After 5 years soul searching, Baker finally found home in Tampa Bay. So should the Seahawks invest in Bryce Young for five years? The answer is no. He should stick with Carolina for now and then move on.
