Carbones Ristorante CT - Franklin Ave - The Final Visit
1930s to 2024 - See the Carbones Franklin Avenue locations last walk through with me while it's being ready for the building to be demolished. The spirit will carry on in it's existing two locations for now; Rocky Hill, Carbones Prime and Bloomfield , Carbones Kitchen. Looking forward will be a new appetite downtown Hartford bringing a new flame to the community. My Telecom and Networking involvement allowed me to see the flare and passion of the food and growth of the two existing locations behind the scenes which in my opinion will bring the same passion with a twist to the new location. If you've been to the Franklin Ave original... I ask you to comment and give the Carbones a Franklin Ave send off wish to a new beginning (Coming Soon). NO promises but I will ensure each and every comment will be passed on if not seen by them.
Thank you to the Carbones family and Vinnie for the ability to share an amazing part in history.
Here's to 90 something years!

      I follow Masterblend recommendations 12g x 6g x 12g formulat per 5 gallons. 1/3 young I reduce to roughly 50% levels ang gradually increase each nutrient change until the tassel starts to appear. It's usually around 2000~2500ppm at this point. Once the tassel is developed enoungh I apply the tassel pollen to the nodes to start the cobbs and bump up the nutrient to 3500ppm. On another note. Make sure you use a big enough base of medium to allow the corn to stand. I did a test with a 3in and 6 inch rockwool base and the 6 inch performed and grew much better! I also use a large air stone for oxygen in the nutrient. Each nutrient change i decreased the volume/water level by 2 inches to start the air root process until the level was a little over half or 60- 65%.

    If you have natural gas in your home, you never need a 320/400 amp sevice to a 5000sq.ft. home unless you plan on a workshop besides the house.and even then it'd have to be a machine shop with 2/3 people working in it. My opinion and experiences. Waiting on one for a new home right now for a guy. All gas home.i tried to talk him out of it,and here we are 28⁰ and no panel on the house that was started in Sept. But what do i know!😔😊

      Hi Michael, we are out in the woods. No natural gas. We run a outdoor Central Wood Boiler for heat and have propane to cook and backup heat/hot water. There is a full garage roughly 40x40 full of equipment with a 100A sub panel. The house main level has a 42 Circuit 200A and the lower level the same. We work from home and my business has a server room that also calls. We prepared to be safe and not have tonworry in future expansions. Thanks for the thoughts!

    With the indirect you should not need the heat exchanger. Would be 1 or the other. The indirect should give you a better heat exchange than the plate exchanger. You absolutely need pressure on the house heating side, with an expansion tank at 12 psi not 30.

    • @back30
      @back30 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. What I found after adding the plate exchanger was the burn time on my wood boiler extended. Since the boiler loop is shorter now, the heat loss is less and the system idles longer. I'm going to run it this way for awhile to verify but it definitely seems more efficient. I can always remove it. Now that my well is in, I just picked up the auto feed for the water with a back pressure valve that is set for 12psi. I swapped out the 150psi blow off to a 30psi on the tank. I forget the name but I also grabbed an air scrubber (I think that what it's called.. I'm not home at the moment) to put in line on the return side. I see the diagram showing it's right after the fill/tank but I think it would scrub the system better just before the tank to catch the zone returns along with the auto fill. Any thoughts? Lastly I bought a 14 gallon 100psi expansion tank. I ran the Calculator on supplyhouse.com for sizing and it came up with this one (SV30 is the model). Thanks for your help and comments! I see many people learning and improving so hopefully this helps other as it's helping us!

    • @tuppersdad
      @tuppersdad ปีที่แล้ว

      @@back30 For the house side your air separator should have a tapping on the bottom. Place the feeder and expansion tank both in this tapping. Then right after that place the pump. This would be on the supply. Your expansion tank most likley will have a larger tapping i dont beleive this will matter. The best air separator is Spirovent in my experience.

    • @back30
      @back30 ปีที่แล้ว

      @tuppersdad yes! Spirovent is the one I picked up. For the pump, I have my taco pumps on the supply side. Comes out of the indirect, then each pump branches off for each radiant floor zone. I figure the pumps will run better being between the output upper part of the tank and the floor radiant loops. The returns are up high. It's just the way the layout had to go. Think I need to increase the size of pipe where the pumps branch off to. Tank output is 1". Pex line is 1" and each pump flange is 1".

    Hello, my friend. Subbed to your channel today. I have been planning an outdoor system for my 1860s farmhouse at 4500 sq ft. Learning all I can before I ditch the indoor forced hot air wood furnace. Way to much work for me to operate this system. I want my burner next to my wood pile. I also prefer hydronic over the forced hot air I have, and hate. I have plans to build my own gasifier boiler. I have been studying this stuff, on and off, for a few years in preparation. interestingly enough, I caught your 320 amp service system. Another venture in my plans. Back order or not, I am no where near ready for this at all. Ironically, I caught a new 320 panel on CL last winter with accessories last winter. It was selling for 400 and being winter time, I did not have the funds available. I'll be watching ....

    As a plumber/ heating guy, if ur trying to do gravity with the wood boiler I highly discourage gravity, ur return water will be too cool and will rot out ur boiler,I assume the tank-coil to plate loop is closed? U should have and expansion vessel, the expansion of pex pipe might be enough though with that little water, if I we u I’d just go put the plate on top of the tank pre heating the water before it comes in the tank, if just look up alternative heating (Jeff something) on TH-cam he is more of an wood boiler/ heat g system guy. Good luck

      Hey, thank you for reaching out. The outdoor boiler has a Taco Valve to circulate the boiler water into the basement through the heat plate exchanger. Your Outdoor Wood Boiler is new so the gasket around the door must be new. The smoke pushing by the gasket is an indication you have air passage restriction between firebox and chimney. Check the entire air passage from firebox to top end of chimney. I believe the Classic edge has two draft fans and that they are pushing draft air and not pulling draft air. With the air passage restriction this is giving the appearance the fire box is pressurize. These outdoor wood boilers firebox are open to atmosphere thru the chimney and not pressurized unless you have a restriction as the leaking smoke is indicating. The puff blow back on the bottom door / reaction chamber is telling you it has a problem, the air restriction could cause this, but also confirm that both draft fans are running when system call for a burn.

    • @back30

      You are correct. I followed everyone's advice and cleaned out the excessive ash in the bottom of the firebox. I run a 760 also. Few tips for you, load for a 12 hour burn time with smaller dry splits. Big splits or rounds can bridge and it won’t gas properly. I stir up the coal bed every load and run along the center tube last. It should be hitting 100% on most cycles. Also if you flip that scraper tool around the small end fits into the rear heat exchanger to clean the very inside part. Hope you get it dialed in.

      With a coal bed and loading wood in how do you not get smoke rolling out while the door and bypass are open?

      Yes, I have the 560. Smoke should not come out door when closed. Either door gasket is not sealing, or slots in bottom of firebox are plugged off over pressuring fire box pushing smoke out the door. If you hear pressure pulsing when blower is on the slots in bottom of firebox to reaction chamber are plugged.

    God bless you brother, I don't have the energy anymore. It was painful watching you rough an entire house with a paddle bit. I have a Hole Hawg if you want to use it, please.
