Excellent video; thank you. Recently purchased a 1950s house in West Vancouver, BC. We just peeled up some ancient w2w. I think we're looking with cedar here. But I just want to salute you and your comment section. I bet many of you are young w limited budgets, et c. and you are so wise to embrace the original, natural materials. There is no substitute for wood in the form of laminate, manufactured or that god-awful toxic LVP junk. Not only is actual WOOD better for your health and that of your kids, pets, et c., it lends an atmosphere, and ambience - even a fragrance -to your home that LVP will never. (That floor is gorgeous.) We need to work with what we have because it keeps the cash in our pockets and nothing today that is cheaply made and mass-produced comes close to what you will have when you restore, upcycle, reuse and repurpose. Same goes for your windows. The industry wants you shelling out money at every turn.

In 2023, I faced a significant issue with my 24-inch, two-stage snow blower when I took it in for warranty repair. The service team at Home Depot informed me that they would no longer provide service for Ryobi products after 2023. I was shocked! I own various Ryobi items, including large equipment and hand tools. The representatives mentioned that there would be an option on the Ryobi website to find authorized service locations for my equipment. Fast forward to 2024, and my same two-stage snow blower is now experiencing a problem with the rear drive motor. After searching the Ryobi website for assistance, I noticed that no Home Depot locations appeared as service options. I now realize that I’m stuck with this issue. Initially, I loved Ryobi so much that I bought a brand-new two-stage Ryobi snow blower to use while the other one was being serviced, planning to sell it afterward. However, after reflecting on the situation and considering the possibility of the new one breaking down, I decided to return it to Home Depot. I then purchased the Ego POWER+ 28-inch two-stage snow blower. The reason for this choice is that Lowe's will provide the service and warranty repair work if needed. The Ego snow blower comes with a five-year tool warranty and a five-year battery warranty. Additionally, I could buy a Protection Plan that starts after the five-year warranty, which includes pick-up and delivery service. You can say what you want about the cost of this machine, but I want what I want, and that’s final because I am not going back to Gas.

@@agentalexcamp It's frustrating and a real slap in the face to everyone who spent $ and time creating a bunch of vids based on a seemingly "bait and switch" offer from AMZ. I'm not letting this one go. :) I'll keep everyone posted.

I have watched quite a few videos on this process, and thank you for the detailed explanation on sanding diagonally. I also don't want to add a stain to mine and just do the satin finish. THANK YOU!

Great looking final product. Water products tend to "raise the whiskers" on sanded wood projects, but I'm wondering if it would be worth going over it with water and buffing it prior to the first coat of finish? Hope the rest of the project went well!

@@HammerShock23 yes that’s why I went back over it after the first coat. What you’re referring to is called “water popping” and is a common practice!

Ryobi doesn't adhere to their warranty and they lie to you. They use a third party. The first time I called they said they were sending me a shipping label.. It never happened. The second time I called a month later they said they were just going to send me a new item... It never happened. When I replied to their email it bounced. The third time I called they said you need a paper receipt for something that I bought 3 years ago even though I can prove I bought it at Home Depot with my credit card and Home Depot account. They are just trying to not adhere to their warranty.

I had the EXACT same issue with them but did drive 70 miles each way (4x, there & back drop off/pick up) only to have the issue not fixed. My 40V push mower's battery was stuck in the unit and wouldn't come out. 4 months later, I'm still trying to get it resolved. And like you, I have multiple tools from them, like all my lawn & yard maintenance.
