The Sounds of 1970. All the UK's Number One Hits.
This video is looking at all the number one singles from 1970. The music of 1970 was diverse, blending rock, folk, and soul.
Iconic albums like Let It Be by The Beatles and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel dominated. Psychedelic rock faded, while hard rock, funk, and early metal began to rise, reflecting societal and cultural shifts.

Hi, and welcome back to the channel. We stay not too far from the Musselburgh train station and since the storm last weekend, there is a strange odour in the air. It wasn't until discussing with friends and seeing posts on Facebook that we decided to investigate. I was surprised at what we found. Thanks for watching.

Sounds of the 60's. All the UK's Number One Hits.
มุมมอง 115K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
The 1960’s was simply the most exciting decade in music history known to man. The eruption of talent after the discovery of the Mersey Sound, spearheaded of course by the Fab Four, changed the world. Here is 25 minutes of all the hits from January 1960 to the end of the decade. And the video reflects on what was known as the British invasion, and how the US replied via Motown, the Beach Boys, t...

I love redheads especially Karen gillan, natasha raskin sharp, martell maxwell and Shirley manson.
And alcoholics and druggies and obesity
Matthews southern comfort. Anymore laid back they would be horizontal.
The craftmanship is beautiful. That tunnel had a left turn that you did not go down. Was it a way yo get water or an escape tunnel? Thank you for showing us the amazing place.
19:34 Dave Dee was a policeman and the first on the scene after the car crash involving Eddie Cochran! I believe he also kept his guitar!
Very, very well done!!
Thank you 👍🏻
Fab! 🤍

Well spotted Kenny. My mistake, it appears this version is by Ray Paterson. Thanks for picking this up 👍
Do you have a video showing a overview or "best of" of East lothian?
No, was thinking of doing something like that i.e. The Castles of East Lothian or The Harbours of East Lothian etc, but was unsure if the viewers would watch it. 👍
fantastic video and a great bit of history thanks again cheers
Glad you enjoyed it James and thanks for the comment. 👍
Great place to visit! Is it open again. It was fenced of?
Not sure when you went, but we were there in November and there were no fences. Thanks for your comment. 👍
@@DronemanScotland keep up the good work mate! You're videos are fantastic!
Thank You.
love seeing videos of my ancestry. great video.
Thanks Kevan, Glad you enjoyed the content. 👍
A really great video for a drive down Memory Lane, thanks ❤.

BLOODY fantastic all the songs are amazing ❤❤
I was born in 1943 I remember all of the songs ❤❤

Hi Robert, really glad you enjoyed the content and thanks for all your comments. 👍 I can't dance too 😂🤣😂
When you talk about football Bill it sounds like it's a matter of life and death ... Bill: No it's much more important than that !!!
👍

Thanks for the comment and really pleased you enjoyed the content. I will be moving my music videos to a new channel, "Music By DMS", would be good if you subscribed to this channel to see my future videos. Thanks for watching. 👍
Awesome video ..loved Mikey saying this place gives me the Willie's 😂 those stone have been moved from the bottom of that stair as it was totally blocked when we went
Thanks for watching. It was certainly an adventure getting there, but well worth the effort. 👍
Awesome video but if you go to the golf course and have a cup of tea and say to them youre gonna visit the castle they usually say just park in there car park and its a 15 min walk so much easier but youre way is more scenic
That's good to know. Thanks for watching. 👍
cycled down here a couple of years ago,we gave up and ended up at hopes reservoir as we couldnt find it(now i see why) need to have another go when the weather improves.thanks for the info, great video.
Thanks for the comment. Hopefully our little description on how to get there helps. 👍
Excellent video with fantastic commentary!! 👌 Certainly worth the long treck to get to it but you're a braver man than me cos there's no way I'd have ventured so deep into it. 😱😊 Very well done! Top Notch!!😎
Thank You, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the comment. 👍
I do need to visit Yester Castle. I want to have some spookier videos for October, and I think that Yester Castle would be perfect for that.
You should, but just be careful, it is very easy to get lost. There is no phone signal so google maps was a waste of time. What should have been an easy 30 minute walk turned into a bit of a marathon. 😂🤣😂
@@DronemanScotland Yeah, it did sound like it was quite a difficult place to find. Maybe it should be something that is better sign posted. @LiathWolf has also uploaded a video about Yester Castle. I'm currently watching it.
👍
I had a walk up there in the summer. I went straight on at the left turn up the hill and walked for 30 minutes before turning back and then walking up the hill. Eventually found it and even found a little short cut on the way back. Anyhoo great video Paul and well worth the walk. Ps . There’s another way to get to the castle via the golf course.
Looks like we took the same turning you did. Even putting the drone up to try and find the castle was a waste of time, the woods are just too thick. I did consider doing the golf course route, but was told they can be a wee bit funny. I know we can walk on the course with the Scottish "Right Of Access" law, but I am always respectful, so decide on the Gifford path route.
Great video (if a wee bit creepy in places) Nice history lesson anaw. One o your best videos yet Paul. Looks like a long walk from the road to the castle though. 😉😉👍👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it John. It is only a 30 minute walk, but we got badly lost, took us 90 minutes to find it. 👍
Apologies for the state of my hair…you could have said something Dad. Excellent video and a great, if not gruelling day out. 😂
😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
What a fantastic compilation. Thanks for posting. Brilliant.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. 👍

Thanks Jock, glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
I love all the songs and sounds of the sixties.fantastic time and i was young.thanks for playing all the great stuff.🍀🤓👍. xxxxxxx.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for your comment. 👍
This was our mental health treatment. You could laugh and cry all your emotions out over the weekend and still a bit rugged on Monday morning you were up for work. My four sisters and I always had Jim traves song guilty on if one of us had a breakup. My mother was so sick of hearing it. She would have paid someone to Marry us. The young ones should listen to this music. I am sure it would help. As we matured I went classic. One sister was Elvis mad and the other two were in the fringe with the new stuff.
Hi Frances, like your story and really glad to hear that this brought back happy memories. Thanks for watching. 👍
IN MY OPINION WE HAD THE 2 GREATEST ERA'S FOR MUSIC WHICH ARE DEFINITELY THE 50S AND 60S WITHOUT A DOUBT. I WAS BORN IN 1957 BUT I GREW UP WITH THESE CLASSIC SONGS 🎵 👌
I was born in 61, but as far as I am concerned, this was the best time for music. 👍
It still smells like a honkin' jobby round here! 💩
Great songs!!! But the clips are too short
Sorry about that Michael. I have just started a music channel you may be interested in "Music By DMS", started it yesterday and starting to fill up with content. Will be full length videos on this channel. 👍
Great video. Ive only recently discovered your channel. Brilliant content
Thanks Kenneth. Hopefully you enjoy the rest of the content on the channel. 👍
Those were the days I wish my grandchildren could have them now
So true. Thanks for the comment.
А где же Джекки Де Ченнон???
Hi, thanks for the comment. Believe it or not, Jackie DeShannon did not have a single in the UK charts. I will be launching a sister channel soon, I will ensure I publish some of her work on there. 👍
Неужели из-за того что она ирландка, как я предполагаю?
You could be right. I have now launched a music channel, "Music By DMS" and will posting a few of her videos on there next week, so why not head over now and subscribe so you get a notification once I post the video. thanks for your comment. 👍
A Great Man, and a Great Manager. My best mate in Primary school was a Liverpool fan and I was a Man United Fan, and at that time they both had Scottish Managers in Bill Shankly and Matt Busby (before Knighthood). I always admired and liked both the Shanks and Sir Matt.
Thanks for your comment. I am currently working on a Sir Matt Busby project, so watch out for that in the near future. 👍
Same here. I live near Glenbuck and have visited what was the village. It's landscaped over now but there can be nothing to hide the appreciation of it's finest. The Ayrshire/Lanarkshire mining area produced many fine managers. Shankly, Jock Stein and Sir Matt Busby. There all in every true fans heart.
@ Jock Stein was one of best-ever managers same as Bill Shankly and Sir Matt.
👍
👍
Brilliant compilation.
Thank You. 👍
SEPA have investigated the big chimney energy plant about 5 years ago for burning plastic waste. As soon as they got involved, it stopped. Just to let you know, according to SEPA, you are in the design model prevailing wind direction. Happy smelly days ahead.
Kind of thought that, still waiting back from SEPA. Thanks for your comment. 👍
Very interesting profile, what a remarkable, charismatic man he was, exactly the sort of man to inspire players to lift their game.
So true. Thanks for the comment Paul 👍
Super educated narrative to honour a football legend - man and village, and so appropriately illustrated. Very well done and thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the content. 👍
He was English........
Nope, born in Glenbuck in East Ayrshire. 👍
@@DronemanScotlandThinkStephen Foster has been drinking too much Fosters.
You could be right John 🤣😂🤣👍
Can't think of anything better to do on 41 degrees day in Adelaide than watch an episode of Droneman, with a cold one in my hand. I still think it's Jimmy's socks, by the way. I think you need to fly over Jimmy's hoos, Droneman. 😮😅😅😊 Keep up the great work
Sounds like a great idea 🤣😂🤣 Enjoy the sun, you are making me jealous 😊😊
It's AI.
What's AI ???
Mr Shankly like Big Jock and Ferguson weren't bogged by sectarianism and that's what make them greats
So true, all fantastic managers and Scottish Legends. Thanks for your comment. 👍
Absolutely correct. Thank you for saying that.
👍
went up with the drone later on this afternoon and got some close up pictures, part of the steel frame is also broken, actually surprised how flimsy the roof on these are.
Hope you're not a Droneman imposter 😂😢😮😅
That does not sound good for a quick repair, thanks for the comment. 👍
Derek, you should know better, there is only one Droneman Scotland. 🤣😂🤣👍
what is in those tanks, petrol/diesel or sewage. this happened a few years ago and I thought they found it to be caused by leaking petrol tanks at old craighall service station? Or do these amagsd tanks at Millerhill just cause a smell to linger in the air?
Hi Scott, it is sewage in these tanks. Thanks for your comment. 👍
Wow, such good investigative work! and so easy with a drone, hope it gets sorted soon!
I hope so too 👍
As a child in the 1950s the Esk usually smelt very bad, especially in warm weather. I was told it was the upstream paper mills (long gone) discharging. Clumps of greasy foam drifted down the river.
You are correct John, the biggest culprits I believe were the mills in Penicuik. I covered this subject on one of my videos on the channel. 👍
Simply brilliant music! Wish I had a time machine. I would be back there in a heartbeat!
And I would come with you. Thanks for the comment. 👍
