I've always maintained that "the day the music died" was the day Sugar Sugar reached number 1. This excellent video bears this out - that garbage, followed by Rolf Harris, and then the 60s ended! From then on record companies aimed their single releases at 11 year olds, who by then were their best customers.
You could be right. I was one of those 11 year olds and I loved the 70's music, but I soon realised my mistake and got into the 60's stuff. thanks for your comment. 👍
