Simple grimdark miniature painting.
If you want to paint more than just the box art and the perfectly clean paint schemes you see from the Games Workshop team, then this is for you! I try to paint as many miniatures as possible from Warhammer, Age of Sigmar, Star Wars Legion and many other game systems. I do this in creative and different paint schemes that give great results.

Kitbashing an EPIC Ork Painboy warboss

My Orktober contribution is this kitbash of an Ork with Necron bits to become an Ork Boss, based of a Painboy. It's an old model that used to come with the Ork Start Collecting box and the Necron parts are from the Indomitus boxset form the start of 9th edition Warhammer 40K.
The kitbash is really pretty simple and it's a replacement of the legs with the legs of a Skorpekh destroyer. And the blade of the same Skorpekh Destroyer smashed into the arm.
For the paint scheme I worked in my standard easy grimdark style. Some drybrush, some wash and a little bit of detail work.
Paints used in for painting this warhammer miniature:
Deathworld Forest Green
Typhus Corrosion
Skrag Brown
Ryza Rust
Stormhost Silver
Corax White
Tesseract Glow
Contrast Blood Angels
AK Streaking Grime
Panelliner for Grey and Blue Vehicles
Nurgling Green
Blood for the Blood God
'Ardcoat
Abaddon Black
Light Crusted Rust Deposits
Dark Crusted Rust Deposits
Leviathan Purple
Armageddon Dust
Zandri Dust

Kitbashing a Tzeentch Daemon Prince
มุมมอง 5K21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Instagram: fogofgore Facebook: fogofgore fogofgore.com Krethusa is no more, she is now a Daemon Prince of Tzeentch! I am really happy with how this kitbash worked out and I can use this miniature in both Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar. From the moment I saw this mini on the Games Workshop website I already knew it was going to be a Tzeentch or Thousand Sons conversi...
3D Printing is cheating when kitbashing
มุมมอง 86814 วันที่ผ่านมา
Instagram: fogofgore Facebook: fogofgore/ fogofgore.com How do you feel about 3D Printing when kitbashing? Is it allowed? Is it cheating? How hard do you set your limits? Personally, I try to stick to Games Workshop bits as much as possible. It's part of the challenge and part of the fun I have with the Warhammer hobby. I get a lot of comments telling me to just 3D p...

Anvil of Apotheosis: The Ultimate Kitbashing Inspiration
มุมมอง 79028 วันที่ผ่านมา
Even GW says that the Anvil of Apotheosis is perfect for kitbashing your own heros/characters. So, I figured I could explain it to you and see if we can get some inspiration together. Personally, I immediately saw a bunch of kitbashes materialising in front of me. Ultramarines on Chariots for example, or a Skaven corpse cart, how about a necromancer that isn't on foot, but riding a massive moun...
Kitbasher's gems in this weekend's pre-orders!
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
There are some real kitbasher treasures in this weekend's pre-orders! You can finally get the Chaos Marauders again and this box might just be the best box for bits to convert your chaos space marines. Actually, those marauders are great for any Warhammer conversion. You have skulls on chains, hooks on chains, flails, crude weapons, nasty banners and some really neat pieces of flayed skin cloak...
Kitbashing Lord Solar for my Death Korps of Krieg
มุมมอง 4.6Kหลายเดือนก่อน
No way am I going to run the original Lord Solar model in my Death Korps of Krieg army, even if he is riding a horse! Instead, I am going for a conversion where I combine 2 of the 3 options that most miniature kitbashers follow when they create a Lord Solar. I am going for a mini diorama on top of a replacement for the horse. I still want to reference Lord Solar as much as I can with the power ...
Commissar Gaunt is ready to join my Krieg Ghosts

My Krieg army is growing and Commissar Gaunt is ready to join his Ghosts on the table top! He is painted in the standard scheme that I use for all my officers. All the bits come from tinylegend.eu/ and you...
Emperor's Children conversion essentials

There are so many different kits to use, because in Age of Sigmar there is alrea...
Krieg Ghosts - Gaunt's Ghosts conversion to Death Korps of Krieg

My Death Korps of Krieg is growing with the addition of Gaunt's Ghosts. Of course I have converted them completely to fit in with the rest of the cannon fodder that walks the Warhammer 40.000 battlefield. I tried to keep the positions as close as possible to the original models and I think it worked out alright! They are all recognisable as the individual models that they represent and still th...
How to paint: Easy Grimdark Grey Death Korps of Krieg

I am working on my own Warhammer 40k Army: the Death Korps of Krieg! I don't want to paint 120 of the same models, though, so I am painting them in different colours. I just use a few paints and no difficult techniques, so it's very begi...
5 Steps to write your own Space Marine chapter lore

If you follow along with this, you will have a good base to work with and to keep improving on. The steps are pretty basic, but it's a good place to get started with your own chapter and this will give you plenty of ideas for conversions and kitbashes to make your chapter your ow...

Now i want to give that a try for kitbashing my own Painboy
It looks nothing like a warboss? Yes. Is this the coolest painboy kitbash I've ever seen? Absolutely
He's just a little boss. The real big boss is coming later 😀
@FogOfGore So... He's a nob?
@RoachyCockroach yes! That's the word I was looking for. Can't believe I couldn't find it myself!
❤️🤘🔥
As always, thanks for the support 😀
Regarding the problem of having too few arms for filming blood splattering: May I interest you in our lord and saviour the Four Armed Emperor?
See, I knew those cultists were on to something with all those extra arms!
Merci pour la vidéo
De rien!
Very cool! I tried contacting you about Kitbash on instagram. I have one specific idea. Would like your input if interested.
@@jakovskaro8224 yeah, sorry man. I get so much spam messages I didn't see yours. Let's connect!
@ beautiful talk. Thank you for support.
Happy to help out, mate. Let me know if you need anything else.
Incredibly well done!
Thank you very much. It all came down to getting the right parts. It's such a good fit between Orks and Necron bits.
Really enjoyed your explanations for each part you put on and overall great kitbash!
Much appreciated! I try to be as clear as I can in these videos so people can maybe get some inspiration from this too.
These upgrade bits are really cool. I know I'm a bit late to the discussion, but I think that "Grimm's Ghosts" is a good name for the group.
Ooh, I like Grimm's Ghosts as well!
I'm working on a Skaven Imperial Guard battery next and then a Xenomarines Kill-Team. Subscribe if you want to see those too!
will you ever make a beginner grimdark guide to raven guard?
No, I don't think so. I'm going to stick with kitbashing from now on.

My baby Lord of Change!
Great ideas may I add the iron warriors have janassaries there own soldiers so traitor guard kill team as you get rules for traitor guard I would like to add aswell I use the old chaos terminator lord or the terminator captain and use like tyrant bits or heresy terminator bits the warsmith torso and legs could work for a lord or sorcerer tortuga bay make great cybernetic mark 3 and 2 bodies weapons aswell and terminators
Looks hella cool 👏😀
Thank you!
12:23 what
Nice painting
Thank you so much 😀
Mooi gemaakt!
Dankjewel!
Do I use 3d printed parts in my kit bashing . Yes , what ever sources I use to get my bits it’s all kit bashing. Do I use just gw bits , no, it’s way to expensive to buy just gw bits or split kits down.
👍🔥🤘❤️
Next week will be my Paincron. SKORPORKH DESTROYER? I don't know what to name him yet.
I would love to see a deamon primarch kitbash into Konrad, also rly cool kitbash 😀
Cool idea, a daemonic crow like primarch.
@@FogOfGore So Corvus Corrax ^^
stupid question but did you apply a black primer to it at the start? im new to warhammer
Yes, it's primed with a spray can of black primer.
I made Escher ganger Cultists for my Compendium chaos marine Kill team for Kill team 2021 (Not legal now in 2024) and it was great and wonderful.
That looks... not good at all.
Very nice ideas. The Chaos endless spells looks really good for WB. Another small source for books and scrolls would be skaven plague monks. And for my personal taste, Dark Angels can also be a good source for kit bashing. Imo robes and hoods work really well with WB.
Yeah, I really like the endless spells. Even just for decoration or some kind of markers. The plague monks are a good suggestion as well, thanks!
People are going a little nuts in these comments. I get that GW is expensive but it sounds like he's saying he enjoys the creativity you can get when setting limits.
How much did they pay you?
Eh I feel like Kitbashing is only worth it for character or hero models spent 300 converting kits into the sanguinor last year dont regret it because IMO it looks far better than the new sculpt I think GW knows this because the new Sang guard models are so bland, theres no real difference because you are either putting scults together with plastic or putting sculpts that are 3d printed onto GW minis
Wow! Uber GW shill. 3d print or don't but GW is not deserving of any special regard beyond Patent protections. You always have fair use for personal products . You just can't sell them until after the patents expire.. 90% of GW stuff is related to products that are more than 20 years .. 3D printing is not cheating and limiting to greenstuf without mention of miliput plaster is just creating a high bar of access to aspiring artists.
the thought that you need to only use gw bits for anything related to warhammer is ridiculous and spits in the face of creativity it only exists because of gws narcasissim and greed it doesnt help when there are buyers who practically worship them or that their stock is stupidly overpriced the whole point of kitbashing is to just let your imagination run wild and use what ever tools you have to create and thats exactly what 3d printing is,a tool its by no means necessary nor is it the best thing ever its just there to use.Sorry if this comes across the wrong way i just dont see how anyone can argue that 3d printing is something to be shunned when its such a helpful thing to have
Some of the people are scrounging for copium laced arguments against anything 3D printed in 40K. At what point does printing terrain become cheating? As long as games workshop keeps their models and bits at an unaffordable level, 3D printing will never be a bad thing for the community or culture of warhammer
I agree, I always hope that 3D printing might actually reign in some of GW pricing practices. I have 3D printed bits and minis in my own armies. It's just one-off kitbashes where I try to set some limits that I feel that going for 3D printed bits completely changes the project. It's no longer about working within limitations to do as well as possible, it's about getting the best kitbash possible with anything you can find.
It's not cheating. GW is notorious for charging ungodly amounts of money for parts/models that are older and harder to come by. If you go on ebay you could spend a good chunk of change to get the bits you want. Especially for those hard to find pieces or models. 3D printing is just smart. It doesn't change anything. The important part is the idea of what you want to kitbash and making that idea a reality.
Yeah, the cost is a good argument, especially if you're converting a whole army. I am doing my Death Korps of Krieg with 3D printed bits everywhere. It's just that I feel a little conflicted when trying to make a kitbash out of a single model for a one-off project. If I then go to 3D printed bits it becomes a different project where the goal it so make the best possible ktibash without any limits.
It seems like an arbitrary limit to me, like calling cars cheating and sticking with your horse. The intent isn't to get there fast, it's to enjoy the ride, you can tell yourself, but in reality you're just limiting yourself for no reason. I 3D print all of my units as cool proxies with unique bits and combinations that nobody else has and I spend way less. More creativity for less money is obviously better than buying extra bits then just slapping greenstuff on every conversion and telling yourself it's better with some major mental gymnastics. Now if you were in a scenario where you couldn't 3D print anything then fine, but it's more accessible than ever. Good luck on the engagement/algorithm, I guess you got me with the bait.
Yeah, it's terribly arbitrary that's what I say in the video as well. And I do feel conflicted, because for my own armies I like to use 3D printed bits! It's just that when I want to make some one-off kitbash I like to set some limits. On the other hand you could do as you say and simply go for the best possible result with as many resources as possible.
Imagine him telling the GW artist who make these digitally that they are cheating.
Yeah, that's what I meant at the end of the video too. What if GW made a thousand upgrade kits for every possible chaos legion and every possible space marine chapter. Would it then suddenly not be cheating to use 3D printed bits? Of course not. That's why I am starting to warm up to the idea of 3D printing more and more when it comes to my own armies. I would still occasionally set myself some limits when I am trying to make a one off kitbash though.
that looks sexy
100% agree
You're in the minority! 😀
I did a Fabius conversion put wings on a helmet and made is needle rack a skin rack
That's a pretty cool idea. That rack can just become a trophy rack!
As long as your honest enough to call out your own hypocrisy then have whatever opinion you want its all good!
Yeah and it's not just hypocrisy. I am genuinely opening up to more 3D printing. Especially for my own guard and GSC armies where I want to convert 100 or more models. It's just not viable to only use GW bits then.
