@@TickBallsOut unfortunately that was a limited release , and is no longer available , it was a great box set and i feel it should have been a permanent box for the HH
Something I absolutely love that I saw recently was Fabius Bile's backpack + the Warpsmith head stuck on the power axe praetor from Heresy range. One of the best "simple" conversions I've ever seen. What an excellent video by the way. Doesn't drag anything out but provides plenty of options and ideas, not just "uh you could do something with this model probably if you put some stripes on it idk". Really appreciate it as somebody that's just starting the hobby.
Ooh, that sounds like a great conversion! Like a brutal chaos apothecary. Thanks for all the compliments, it's good to hear you like this kind of videos!
Nice idea. I like your offer for the characters but I cannot think a better leader for my Iron Warriors that the old Warsmith miniature. Full of bionics and screaming Iron Warrior.
Ah, yeah, but that's very old and OOP. I'd rather not give OOP minis as suggestions. I think a combination of the Siege Breaker Consul with Warpsmiths bits could be a decent leader too.
Another option for melee focused IW cultists could be Sisters of battle Arco flagellants. They're basically servitors with whips but you could easily swap these out for pistols and autoguns
@@friendlytalbot4050 I made some but added cocktail stick spikes throughout their body to suggest they're chaosy. I painted their skin in pale tones but added blood at the base of each spike to imply the iron warriors don't really care about them, seeing them more as tools than as living breathing things
I kitbashed the necromunda ambots for obliterators, using mark 3 heads and just space marine and gun sprues and bits that I had lying around. works really well.
That sounds like a pretty cool kitbash. The ambots definitely have a great industrial look and feel. With enough guns they could work great as obliterators!
i have been trying to figure out how to effectively and coolest way to make an iron warrior army. and i just have to say that what you showed in this video is just genius, especially what you did with the chaos spawn. just perfect!
CSM Legionaries make for great Chosen, while the Mark 3 can represent regular Legionaries. That way they still blend with the rest of the CSM Army, and overall will have a slightly less corrupted look which many people feel is appropriate.
Found your channel a few days ago and it's been a great help in painting my Skitarii. I also recently started an IW army and then this popped up, great stuff!
I was googling iron warriors conversions and paint schemea etc and I this was my recomendation, your first video that i see but i am sure i will look here often
Great ideas may I add the iron warriors have janassaries there own soldiers so traitor guard kill team as you get rules for traitor guard I would like to add aswell I use the old chaos terminator lord or the terminator captain and use like tyrant bits or heresy terminator bits the warsmith torso and legs could work for a lord or sorcerer tortuga bay make great cybernetic mark 3 and 2 bodies weapons aswell and terminators
Absolutely. I play Death Guard myself! Going to take them to a tournament next week with a massive swarm of 60 poxwalkers, 40 cultists and 27 Nurglings
Iron Within is peak IW design. Mk2 and Mk3 armor with the legionary power packs. The Terminator Lord in the animation makes the basic chaos terminators work, since that’s what he’s based on.
Overall good video. I have a few additional ideas. I feel the Cataphron Breachers would be good proxies for Obliterators. For cultists I would recommend Necromunda Orlock gangers. The Hellbrute model could be converted into a Daemon Prince. I would suggest the Space Marine Devastator kit for the legs and heavy weapon options. The 30K MK VI Assault Squad would make a good less corrupted version of Raptors. I highly recommend the 30K legion tanks as proxies for the 40K versions. My Iron Warriors army has fallen into corruption. I may do another using mainly 30K models.
There also was an FW Iron Warrior dreadnought. I'm not sure if that still exist. I still have one of those automatons lying around. Playing it as a demon price is actually a good idea. Maybe it gets build afterall.
I can’t get over the fact iron circle was originally ogryn sized in the HH and then they decided to make them the equivalency of knights on the table top.
Could you do this for Alpha Legion as well please? Im starting up an Alpha Legion force and im trying to think of proxies to use for different models. find the fleshmetal/daemonic units less appealing and I want different models to use as proxies.
Yeah, I'm doing some research already. There are quite a few directions to go with the Alpha Legion, so it's hard to trim it down into one cohesive video.
A lot of your suggestions were cool. But when I think of nurglings I think of little creature things that swarm others. The nurglings you suggested don’t come across as a swarm more as single miniatures better used for non-nurglings.
Absolutely, but there just aren't that many swarms in the GW inventory :( so I would look for other aspects, such as deepstriking and infiltrate instead
theres a piece of lore where Perturabo creates some kinda tech plague from a Nurglite Ritual and from this were born 'glitchlings' basically cyborgy gremlins nurglings use the ones from the gellerpox kill team among your swarm and that could very well work

Yeah, they could be! It didn't really occur to me since they are so hunched over. I like the centurions for obliterators though. There is still something living in those suits.
With Cultists, in Storm of Iron, we see slaves perform manual labour, under the supervision of slavemasters. I think that's the kind of angle I'd take with the Cultists as slaves, and the Traitor Guard as their supervisors.
The only way to be cost effective and be an iron warriors player is 3d printing. We had a lot of good people doing original stuff before GW cracked down on these independent artists. Without 3d printing the range is limited to upgrade kits and models that are out of scale these days, which is an important factor for many people. The new MK3 kit is also noticeably bigger than the MK4 marines, it's important to be aware of this. People get annoyed at this often enough so we should mention it beforehand. All in all, the upgrade kits are obviously working for both old scale and new scale, but most of the heresy models are old scale, while the new MK3 and MK6 guys (also the current chaos space marine minis) will tower over these. Good video otherwise.
Yeah, but I would rather keep those in a separate video. There are a lot of people that just can't bring 3D printed models to their games because they play in GW stores or strict tournaments. If I would go through a load of 3D printed models in this video they would complain about that. 😀
The best without discussion for iron warriors cultists is DKOK no need to argue this is peak iron warriors an its what iv used for my milita for 30k dark green khakis with chevron

iron warriors not being chaos lovers is kind of a new concept being pushed by players and lore ju8nkies but its not rooted in reality.
