Why can you repair everything else but not a katana?? You might need very good metal working so let me get the skill to do that? And you guys play with dozens and hundreds of mods so don't be going. Oh well you can't do that

To be clear, deaf is NOT just about ingame audio. Nor is keen hearing. There's an invisible detection circle around your character that reveals nearby zombies. Deaf makes that circle nearly nonexistent and keen hearing makes it much larger.

Claustrophobic can actually be pretty close to a positive trait if you’re running underweight. While being underweight, it’s best to sit indoors and read skill books while you gain weight. This comes with the downside of making your character pretty bored. However, while panicked, your character cannot become bored, which means claustrophobic players are completely immune to boredom while inside a small area (which is typically where you should be reading anyways).

A thing to note - each class also has hidden modifiers to things you can find in containers or through searching in the wilderness. For example - both carpenter and lumberjack have a greater chance to find wood lying around, policeman and veteran and burglar will be more likely to find ammo. Now, with that in mind: Park ranger - I think it deserves a bump - if you plan on moving through woods or foraging, this is THE job that is best suited to finding useful stuff out there. Faster move through woods is invaluable IF you are moving around infested areas, like Rosewood woodlands - it makes you far safer out there. Repairman deserve a bump too - simply because of how invaluable "maintenance" skill is. Weapon durability in PZ is weird - all weapons have the hidden "chance to be damaged on use" modifier. And maintenance massively cuts this down on top of the weapon skill. The thing is - maintenance is hard to train, so every point matters. The effects are most valuable on weapons with high chance to be damaged in the first place - these are your spears and katanas. Spears are amazing, because they are a solid weapon and infinite supply at that. BUT without maintenance they break VERY quickly. This profession is also one of only ways to get a boost to maintenance learning speed, which is invaluable. I would also bump the carpenter higher - yeah, the carpentry is not that great initially, BUT unless you are planning on going full on nomad style, you will establish some sort of base sooner or later - and carpentry is a very solid jumpstart. I'm also not sure about burglar being this high - sneaking gives a false sense of security, especially to new players. And you only need one level in Electrical to be able to hotwire cars - and you can easily obtain it by dismantling watches you find on corpses.

Hearty appetite is only good if you pair it with something like extremely underweight. You can gorge yourself more effectively and get the weight up faster.

Axe man with strong, athletic and nimble is all u need, the rest of the skills are easily grinded out

I've only been playing for about a week and I knew my current game was special. I spawned inside a little house in Rosewood, stepped out of the kitchen, and Jason Vorhees jump scared me through the damned window. Literally. Armed with machete and a hockey mask, I went into the bedroom and found a stash of dirty mag's and tissues on the floor, as well as a hiker's backpack and gun case in the closet (mag and .45 ammo but no gun). The house next door contained a .45 Magnum and four level 1 books. Heading towards a house behind the fire station, the third house I entered had two bottles of bourbon, a double-barreled shotgun, a hunting rifle, and a box of ammo for both. I got to my new home, which had three more level 1 books, did some basic setting up, slept off the over-exertion of carrying all those guns, started reading my books, watched some TV for free skills, and then headed for the police station. I couldn't reach it and just managed to escape until a couple of bikers jumped me and kindly loaned me their biker's leather jacket, leather pants, and a head bandanna. I turned the corner and was confronted by a dead cop. Two machete swings later and I had a cop's helmet, body armour, a holster and a loaded Mg pistol. In the boot of his wrecked car I found a pump-action shotgun, 3 boxes of shells, more body armour, and a complete uniform that was very tempting for my Burglar start. On my way home, I killed another guy with a duffel bag a double holster. This alerted all the zombies in the nearby house, who happened to have been having a party involving a variety of party hats, cake, beer and wine. The house next door had a fully stocked medicine cabinet more bourbon and a key that fit in the van outside. Finally, for the first time in the game, I found a car that worked. I went home to grab the gas can and because it was also the first time I had such a variety of guns and ammo that I was in a position to actually use, I loaded up on the firepower as well. I figured, hey, why not RP a little, and grabbed the dirty mags and tissues because I was intending to be out for the night. Ready for anything, I got in the van and headed in the direction of the service station. The first couple of packs of zombies didn't bother me until I did a u-turn to avoid another pack and saw that they were all following me. I panicked. I floored it and drove straight through the next two packs, turned down random streets trying to escape and finally made it to an unfamiliar part of town nowhere near anywhere I'd been before. I was hungry so got out to look for a snack and ran into a small pack that I was confident I could deal with with the shotgun, and I did! The gunfire attracted more zombies and it was around the time I ran out of ammo that I realised my mistake. I wasn't as far away from home as I thought. As near as I can tell, I basically drove in a figure-eight and the zombies I thought had been attracted by the shotgun were more like every zombie in town disturbed by my van. The machete was great but I backed into another horde and was dead within seconds. This was the best gear in the best start I've so far had in this game and I had no idea some of it was so rare. I figured Jason was a rare spawn so was intending to go back and try to kill my zombie anyway but now there's extra reason to go back. Just gotta figure out how to get there without my new survivor dying now.

Sunday Driver being a 1 point trait is weird to me same with Speed Demon. Sunday driver ruins your fuel economy, makes trips way longer, and if you hit a horde of zombies, pray you can jump out as the acceleration debuff will stop you from being able to drive out. Speed Demon on the other hand is very weird to even be a positive trait, the forward speed is great especially when you can go 30 - 40mph while being under 2000rpm. However you hold high rpms longer between gears, crashing while speeding with this perk will kill you, and reversing may as well just be a house alarm since you redline the car.

Nothing beats the badassness of the burglar.

there is a great location in muldraugh that is very easy to clear and only difficult to fortify, but it compensates for being the most peaceful spot ive found at muldraugh. there is a Tavern southwest most in the corner of muldraugh, ive always made my solo bases there and its excelent for people that have the clausthrobia trait because its really open inside and you dont feel panicked, specific i know but i like the free points. its two stories tall and close to the gas station, you can make lots of noise and it wont atract any zombies, ive only had 1 wandering walker show up at my base and ive been there for half a year in game

Went to West Point gun store, realized i didn't have a sledge, realized my trip was pointless, went to the supermarket nearby for some food, found a sledge in a random shelf with some beans and chips🤣

figured out how to cheat reloading. use a magnum or any gun and just unload the magazine, unload the bullets then put the bullets in the mag, then the mag into the gun, cock the gun and repeat
