HOW TO BUILD ISSUE TREES: STEP-BY-STEP ALGORITHM + BUSINESS CASE EXAMPLE FROM MCKINSEY
LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/rogulenko
Discord Community: on.fless.pro/discord
Once a problem is clearly defined (using the SMART technique or the Template), it needs to be structured: we build an issue tree. An issue tree will help simplify the analysis, manage teamwork, and present findings.
But how do you go about building issue trees? Management consultants simply rely on lots of practice. For non-consultants who need to master the skill quickly, FLESS developed a 4-step algorithm.
In the video, we'll go through this algorithm and apply it to real McKinsey business case.

Should we not have taken pop growth rate into account while doing calculations? if pop growth rate is say 5%, Number of vaccines required = (number of children <12 years currently) * (1.05)^3 * 90% * 2 doses per child. I think we can't assume population will be constant over the three years

I'm a bit older and am currently doing my MBA. One of the things I have to learn is strategy management, which fascinates me a lot. In your protocol at 3:22, it looks to me as if you work like a manager of a soccer club, in this case not to filter out the strengths and weaknesses of the players, but of the employees, in order to then place them in the appropriate positions, or to adjust the positions so that the employees have more fun and motivation in their work and thus bring more strength and better performance, and above all there is less fluctuation through poaching. A very interesting video.

Great video! May I add that using the 'choosing numbers' strategy would be a more time-efficent way of solving many of the numerical questions here. We can use this when the totals are not defined in the question (page. 17 question 6 would be a great example of this: We could simply pick 40 as the total budget, and work out the respective amounts from there)

I think this is average performance, there are a lot of improvement areas and I don't believe a candidate with this performance could pass ,, I also think that the feedback was quite vague and should have been stricter and clearer to REALLY be able to help people ,, because if future candidates would consider this as a reasonable benchmark then this can be a problem for them

I would start with 1.what is the capacity of car parks? 2. What is the fees charged per car park? 3. How many stakeholders of taxi providers are engaged with airport? 4. What is the total no. Of traffic of arrivals and departures per day? 5. Whether there is provision of MLCP? Then will start with. Lets imagine, there are 5000 car parks available each day. One car park tkt cost 100 rs for 15 mins. There are 4 taxi providers and each have 15% stakes in market and rest are open taxi providers. Own cars are only 10% of overall car parks each day. There are 60k passengers each day 40k for departure and 20k for arrivals. Departing passengers accounts for 20% of car parks whereas arrival passengers accounts for 40% of car parks. Now lets do maths, 5000*100*24*4 = 4.8 cr per day is the potential revenue. Lets say 40% is the utilization of parking ( dept + arrival) = 40%*4.8 = 1.92 crs. Lets say operating cost per day is 0.8 cr Profit = revenue - expenses = 1.92 - 0.8 = 1.12 cr per day If we increase the traffic to another 20% we can earn profit by 1.5 cr per day apprx. 😊

From my understanding, it is because they do not overlap. So if you are in the "Those who play both soccer and basketball" category you cannot be simultaneously in another category like "Those who play basketball and don't play soccer" or "Those who play neither" because that would be contradictory.
