I've definitely felt burnout on more than one thing, not just TH-cam, felt that way with Disney (I know, I'm a Disney content creator, and I got burnt out on it) especially with its content like Disney+, feeling interested in watching the movies religiously, and looking up and watching anything with the parks on TH-cam, even with not watching any furry content a lot l used to, don't get me wrong, I still like that stuff, I've just felt burnt out, also with MAKING content, I've just not been making as much as I'd like to because not only am I afraid of making a video and then have someone say that I stole off of another creator but also looking too amateur or too much of an idiot in the videos (BTW I'm usually at 80-90% of the time, I don't have a job, yet, and I don't really have anyone I'm around a lot outside of my parents)

I'm turned 30 this year, and tbh it was hard to begin for me since I have been busy mostly for 4 years since I joined the fandom and feel like I have been missing out so much around my 20s. But I consider it a new era and make it way awesome then what I have before. We stay true to ourselves no matter how old we are :3

A sense of "community" only comes if your whole personality is based around sex and innuendo, your pronouns and your gender. If you fall outside of any of those 3, you are an immediate target of ostracization and malicious harassment. I have not once felt any sense of community from furries. Constant preaching about "all welcome" except for you, you and everyone else who thinks like you. This is not a woe is me post. I don't need *hugs*, *baps*, be called cutie bean or any of the other cringy shit that is the norm for furries. It's just to point out the constant source of hypocrisy that this "community" fosters.

There's something that bothers me a bit... My entire life I've been kind if in-between calling myself a furry and not a furry. My characters are supposed to be more "kids cartoon where animals can talk and walk on 2 legs sometimes" rather than full on "furry", and recently... I've found out there's kind of a war between furries and "anti-furries", and the latter brought up a point... Nsfw and p-word addiction may be a biiiigggggg problem.... They said it's about 80% of the fandom that have nsfw addiction, and I'm a big hater of nsfw and anything even remotely related to that... With an nsfw addiction... That makes me feel so bad... I hate myself on a daily basis, but that's not the point. Please be honest, how true is that? Is it really that many people who do that..? That one video I saw about the addiction effect that I forgot what it's called... That was the first time that genuinely made me doubt about "being a furry", and now I sometimes feel uncomfortable showing any of my "furry" characters because I don't want the hate and I don't want to associate myself with something if it's genuinely this bad... I'm still not fully on the "anti-furry" side because I KNOW there's at least some people who don't do bad illegal things!! I've seen a few of them myself... Not like I know their personal lives, but they seem chill... Also aro/ace furries exist. But I just... I don't know what to do... I have to pick a side, right? I hate nsfw, like the anti-furries, but also... I don't want to hate the entire furry fandom over this, I don't want to fully leave the "furry" thing... It's like, liking a thing that you hate... Just like with my addiction... Why does this happen... :( I'm so conflicted... This sucks because I have a lot of conflicts, my entire existence is basically an embodiment of a conflict, because I'm hypocritically two polar opposites at the same time somehow...

And sometimes you just completely flub it and you just gotta move on. Yesterday a random person on Reddit asked if I was up for a chat. But bc their first question was are you an adult and their second question was are you in a relationship I freaked out and started grilling them to see if they were a NSFW bot. Completely dropped the ball, but hey, they're just one of the billions of people on the planet I can still be friends with. Sometimes you fail and stuff doesn't work out. But learn from your mistakes and move on.

I've known about furries for years, but only decided to be one when I realised "I'm a 30 year old fully adult grown man, I can do whatever the heck I want" several weeks ago. I'm definitely checking out the Shy video next. There's a small furry event happening tomorrow near me that I'm wanting to go to but I'm suddenly getting cold feet.

Love the video, definitely a big help getting a grasp around this fandom. Still even with these situations though its a very nice and welcoming place (at least for the experiences I've had).

been a furry for 3-4 years, I definitely fall into the "not all furries want to be around a bunch of people" grouping, I have ADHD and mild autism and while I love discussing my interests extensively and will happily talk your ear off even while unknowingly doing so, I also feel weirded out when it comes to personal space, I'm usually home on my laptop looking up or watching stuff concerning anything I'm interested in (furry stuff included) or playing games considering when I'm not having to be out for anything, I definitely have issues with making friends, especially with worrying if I'm info dumping too much about myself or if they think I'm too weird, and having anxiety…a lot

The most vocal haters are usually the biggest hypocrites.

As someone relatively new to the furry community (since 2021) I felt the exact same way. I knew literally nobody and had to go outside of my comfort zone to talk to others and 99% of the time they received me well. Now I'm really good friends with several furries!
