Personally had I thought that it would have been so hot here that I would have needed to look for shade to park, know about cooling centers, rearrange my activities based on times of day and year etc...i never would have moved here. For the electric bill example you gave where it ranged from $130 to $800, is that an exaggeration? Or is that a realistic range? Our electric can be around $150 during cooler months but in the $300s during summer. Is it really possible for a $600 fluctuation?

    • @BrandyValentineRealEstate
      @BrandyValentineRealEstate 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! That range can definitely seem surprising, but in the desert, especially during the peak of summer, electricity bills can skyrocket-especially in larger homes or ones with older AC units. One way to help manage those costs is by not dropping the AC too low. Keeping it at a moderate temperature, like 78°F, and using ceiling or portable fans can make a huge difference in staying cool without overworking the AC. Fans circulate air and make it feel cooler, so you don’t have to crank the thermostat down as much. The range I mentioned is a range I’ve heard of before, but small adjustments can help avoid those higher spikes! Things can also vary depending on house size too.

    • @TC-zf1ji
      @TC-zf1ji 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I set my central AC at 84 and have a window mini split I run in the rooms I spend the most time in. I've never seen a bill over $300 and never averaged over $150 a month for the year.

The video cut out a little when you mentioned the electric bill being $800 and I think you're referring to an 1800 Sq Ft. house, correct?
