Before I was a dam it was an old diamond mine, produced some big diamonds
You need to say what they are.
where is this?
Hi! How is it with the weather in this area? You Said in the video that its cold,,, what is cold there. Im use with minus celcius in Sweden and been travelled in winter time 😅 by the way is there any poison snakes 🐍 and spiders 🕷️ in the area to be afraid of 🫣
If you want to take away the ironoxide then use oxalic acid with water. Take a broken and not so valuable pice and test with that one until you know how the minerals react with the acid, that because if you have ironoxide in the cracks and it starts to disapear the stone can fall apart in grains, Remember if you cut and polish beryls like aquamarines, emeralds, heliodors etc. The dust is poison so use good with water when cutting them. Regards Lars-Erik
We as a family used to go there in the mid to late 90's, some of the most productive areas were very near the main track in and although we had a 4wd you could acess them with a 2wd as long as it wasn't too low slung. Look for a track named iron bed track you'll see why it's called that at the end of the track. Scramble down on the left side of the spur your on and you'll find a big pool. There are some great crystals exposed by free water running through to the pool and at the end of the pool there's a shallow bar across the creek, you get some very clear crystals there and if your into faceting some of the smokies cut into deep yellow and sherry coloured stones. Our kids had a ball out there finding crystals. I'd still love to go out but alas age and injuries have caught up and i can no longer walk but i still enjoy and seeing the excitement on people's faces when they find their treasures 🤩 We live in a wonderful country.
This spot looks amazing! My wife and I are going to Torrington for our anniversary, if you don't mind are you able to share where this spot was? very excited to finally find some emeralds
how Beautiful that is please more of these marine videos whenever is possible guys
Very inspiring! Love your video. Will be waiting for more stories, your jewellery as well 😁
What do you do with the gems that you find?
What is that clear stuff you guys are picking up ???
PS I commented a month ago as love the video 😊 and I noticed the comment in the title,(seen in google) and you mention "just be careful as some of the locals think they own the conservation park and will try to hunt you out." I am planning a trip here and just want to know how safe or un-safe this place is. I realize it is fairly remote and Im doing a solo trip so was not planning on staying at the National Park ground due to the remoteness but rather I would day trip in there, but slightly concerned now that there are crazy locals hanging around? Please let me know more details if I need to have genuine concerns for my safety. I am bringing a Zoleo satellite communicator on the trip but it won't protect against murderers lol. Thanks for any advice 🙂
Awesome lads love the smokies thanks for sharing
I good like travel to Australia to found gemstones
I have no idea what you were looking at. Nice spot though.
Excellent video! Not enough of them, Dibs on the Kangaroo Ash 4:57 Regards
What king of crystals are these?
These are mainly Agates
For big Topaz go to O’Briens Creek near Mt Surprise
Will have to check that place out for sure! It is on the list to visit that’s for sure!
Ihr seid zu beneiden in so einem sammelparadies zu leben❤ich sammle seit vielen Jahren und kenne das Gefühl wenn man was schönes findet ❤ Gruß aus Deutschland an euch ❤
Do you find any Beryl?
Very cool. I think I have to give this area a go!
which part of Northern NSW? will be there next year
This is truly amazing adventure. Very inspiring, but I'm as a city person - still finding all kind of excuses - not to go fossicking myself.
Nice clip! Baby In sync with Mum & the Lone Dolphin amongst them was great. EMERALDS 👆🏻
Was so beautiful to be able to watch it all happen :)
Thanks for the video enjoyed it bout to do a trip to a nsw state forest and this made me more keen then I already was lol keep ‘em coming
am curious if agates can be found in Geln Innes and Lightning Ridge areas..will be there in March 25
You can find sapphires in Glen innes and opal at lightning ridge… I’d be chasing that over agate whilst you’re there :) But perhaps there is agates there, I have never looked
@@fossicking well my main thing of course is sapphire and opal in their respective areas but was hoping to add a bit more rock n gem to my collection and agates can be very cool when tumbled
Awsome trip great topaz emerald as well😊
Plz, do not eell them falsely as emeralds, as they are not emeralds!!!
Not emeralds sorry....
You guys are great! Love watching your videos
Thanks Nicole :) appreciate the kind words
New South Wales?
There is a Torrington, Wyoming. Somehow I don’t think you are there.
Haha no not Wyoming, but would love to go there some day! And yes New South Wales Australia :)
was this the Torrington state park area? I was thinking of making a trip to NSW next year 2025 to fossick for sapphires and emeralds and maybe head to lightning ridge to speck for opal..torrington state park was on my list for a day trip
Our agates down on reedy creek vic are so different they are mainly black and white rarely they will have geod's in them, . Great video
Thanks Gadzee, we certainly have some Good creeks to go scratching around in :) though I’m jealous you have reedy creek right there!
@@fossicking all ww have are gold and crystals gems are way harder to find here. Loving the content you two make keep them coming

Thank you! Keep up the good content also :)
thanks guys
Awesome share, cant wait to see more of what you guys cut!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Thank you :)
Well done 👏 impressive and motivational!! We love Torrington, and you’ve definitely inspired me to do a solo trip. ❤
Very nice, guys. I've recently moved to a property with a rocky creek in northern nsw and I am finding a fair bit of this kind of agate. I also found a small crystal that shines bright yellow with a light behind it. Any ideas what it could be?
Hey mate. Hmm I’m not sure. Send me some photos in Instagram or Facebook and we maybe able to let you know
That rock was definitely a keeper
All of them are :)
Fun trip and gorgeous scenery
new sub wow those are some awesome finds loving the content
Gadzee! Pleasure to have you on board! history shows an old gold mine in the hills above this river… should probably test the waters one of these days
Lots to find around torrington! Just be careful as some of the locals think they own the conservation park and will try to hunt you out, especially around bismuth dam/fielders hill..pacific copper is private property so dont fossick there. not naming names but.
Thanks Gary, Yeah we’re carful with where we go. Always play by the rules and keep safe :)
I’ve found Topaz there, didn’t know you can find Emeralds too. How clear were those.
Hey Andy! Some were very clear and some are more darker beryls but all beautiful really :) We’re going to make more of an effort to show them in more detail in later videos. I just realised iv been following you on Facebook for years watching your channel! Love your videos mate! You could do a video called “Andy catches emeralds” haha, keep up the amazing work! Such a pleasure having a good Aussie human doing what you do
My wife and I are going to Tabulam late this month early Aug 2024. Any pointers would be appreciated.
Hey mate. When entering Ewingar state forest there is a good camping spot where the green shed is located. You will see this as you’re driving in on top of the mountain. Great spot to camp and you can enter the creek with a quick walk from there. however if you want to brave it you can 4WD into the mountain a little. You will see lots of 4WD tracks. If you have maps open pick one that ends up or follows the creek. You will eventually get to a spot to park and or camp and you can enter the creek from there. Some terrain when entering the creek is very steep so you have to find a path others have used before. Good luck on your trip and have fun!
Top find guys
Thanks Kim :)
I've just found your channel and loving it. Great content!
Thank you :) glad you’re enjoying it!
Sick video guys
Thanks Nic! :)
What are those clear stones. it would be good if you guys could comment on what you actually find as you go along. Most of us have no idea.
The clear ones are Topaz. Iv have never thought to do that so will make more of an effort. Thanks for the feedback :)
Where is this magical place?😱😅
Torrington :)
