What’s your take on the Traitors from NZ2 and Canada 2?

As a fan of The Challenge, I was hyped with CT winning. Glad that Bananas got eliminated first because he just seems like a POS of a human being. All of the dirtbag things that he's done on The Challenge.. it was just good to see. But Trishelle, oouuff.. idk. If you havent watched The Challenge, she has a tendency to say racially insensitive things and borderline, flatout racist comments about cast mates. Just Google Trishelle and The Challenge Controversies and youll see what I mean. MTV has a habit of allowing bullying, racial discrimination and bad treatment on The Challenge. ESPECIALLY after The Challenge S30 and Camila's drunken racist rants against one of the fan favorites. After that, they started tightening up how they handle things because MTV started getting so much flak about allowing these issues to consistently happen. CT was a redemption story of The Challenge, he used to fight his cast mates and cause problems, but he was one of the physical BEST competitors the show has ever seen. Even now, 40 seasons in and CT is STILL probably the best competitor on that show. After becoming a dad, CT has grown a lot, and you can easily see those grown up qualities in this show that allowed him to win.

That’s your opinion on Maddie, she was right about Will being a traitor but her logic and reasoning to why was so off, it made her look crazy.

Saying Kate out maneuvered Phaedra is a joke. Lol she was clueless after Phaedra left. And the Dan praise was wild he was stupid. He turner on Phaedra just because he wanted to ruin her game if he were smart he would turned on Parvati because she was already suspect. But Dan knew he could manipulate Parvati and not Phaedra. And the #11 spot for Phaedra spare me. Why would she recruit Peter over Kate when Peter already said no to Parvati 💀

Parvati made a lot of missteps and seemed to have a horrible social game, she was repelling people away from her. I think being a fan from Survivor affected your assessment.

I think 46 had a more entertaining cast as they were unhinged, but I think 47 had more competitive gameplay and the best editing of the era. To me, the editing is what made Operation: Italy such a good episode. The move was exciting, but I think the reason why everyone was pleased is because the editors flexed their muscles.

I also don’t see Andy as the best player considering the reasons why the game were so hard for him was his own fault. His perception was crafted due to his own actions and he wasn’t capable enough to play himself out of the hole. He had low win equity as the jury didn’t respect his game, and it wasn’t like he was dealt a bad hand. He had low win equity due to his own decision making. He tried to pull off a Kevin Jacobs and failed. I do think he played strategically optimally given his bad Day 3, but the fact remains that he could not play himself out of a hole that he created. It was his decision to play into the emotionally needy role, which cratered his win equity. That was an active choice on his part and it made it harder for him to win. So yeah did he make the right move every time with the pure strategy of the game? Sure. You can argue that. But did he make the right move in terms of social strategy? That, I contend, he did not. Good player, but not the best of the season.

I alone have the true take of Rachel’s game! No one else knows her power like I do!! It is known!!! Let me explain: I think the best way to sum up Rachel’s game is that she is a middle level social and strategic threat that essentially becomes the biggest threat as they are in the Goldilocks position. Players like Caroline and Genevieve clocked Rachel as a threat precisely because they were looking for exactly that type of player as they were a similar type. Genevieve said she and Caroline tried to target Rachel for the Sierra vote but simply could not get the numbers. They backed off and went with Sierra. In Caroline’s exit press, she said that right after the Sierra vote, she talked with Rachel and they established a strategic partnership to look out for each other. Rachel ended up, in Caroline’s words, becoming Caroline’s strategic number one, a position formerly held by Gabe. Caroline vibed much better with Rachel and their strategic vision were much more in sync. So Caroline felt more comfortable losing Gabe because he was getting too domineering in his approach. To me this suggests Rachel had a good ability of disarming threats by establishing working relationships with them. The easy answer is to target a threat, but I think it can pay much more dividends to work with them and make them feel like they need you. I think it behooves players to find similar people to them and band together as when people are targeting a player, they are targeting that type of player. Rachel was able to work so well with Caroline that Caroline felt more comfortable getting rid of Gabe, and I bet the Caroline connection is also why Sue feels so good with Rachel. I think Rachel has been very good at utilizing her social skills to get herself into good, solid positions that keep her insulated. So even if she doesn’t get her specific way, she has enough insulation that she can be safe in multiple options while also falling back on her challenge ability and idol as a safety net. She’s a good defensive player who has strong positioning for the long haul, even if she lacks good offensive capability that gives her strong influence over votes. Rachel has a surgical air about her where she seems like she is always cool, calm, and collected. No matter what. Even when she fails, she’s still succeeding. She doesn’t get flustered. She gets knocked down? She picks herself right back up. She doesn’t let you see her bleed. A lot of people find this to be a magnetic quality to Rachel’s game that draws them in. Some, however, find it more robotic and too clinical for their tastes. The lack of vulnerability makes her feel more distant. Intangible. Like she’s playing on cruise control. I think that might be the cause of the disconnect for some people. The only way to overcome that perception with a game like Rachel’s is by having an electric personality that charges people with excitement as they watch you struggle your way through the game. That’s my two cents.

Last couple episodes killed the season for me. Rachels win felt dull

I think the reason people praise it, like me, is because the season had way more challengers or true threats then the others. Like i love 44, but outside Fran, the others played a weak game and allowed the Tiku 3 to run the game and pick off everyone. And 45 is...look, very weak imo with the 4 just destroying everyone with little fight. We almost had it, if Blue wasn't picked off in a row or if Gabe/Caroline/Sue made it to the end. So having no real big alliances, and everyone was playing optimally in their head and arguably from our eyes, its why people loved it. Like the underdog alliance lasted really 1 episode, project italy would had won the game for Andy/Sam/Gen if Rachel didn't correctly kept her idol, especially with them flipping Teeny. Like yes end game is boring...but we love Kim and Rob, who was extremely boring if you watch their seasons weekly. Why people say Rachel is dominant or the best is...she kept herself safe and played well from final 8 on. Outside the one idol, she put herself in safe positions by winning, which is great. And if she lost, outside final 6, she arguably was safe from her alliances and people skills. Look at exit interviews and everyone had glowing views and opinions on Rachel that wasn't really shown. Like she truly was everyone's best friend or sister. So to me, the thing most miss is, she had luck, but she used it to be always ontop and knew how to act. Say like the idol reveal to Sue, anyone else? Horrible move. But with Sue, it kept her loyal extremely. So to me, she is a top tier winner since she played with amazing players and always had control from Sierra leaving on.

What makes it so soul crushing about Charlie’s loss was that he was literally 1 vote away from winning the game cause Ben has said after the show that he would have voted for Charlie to win if there was a tie

I couldn't agree more with your take on Rachel and I'm glad you voiced it, despite potential backlash. I tend to agree with the online community about who is or isn't playing well, but hearing everyone talk about Rachel's win has legitimately made me feel like I'm watching a different show than everyone else. While I don't dislike Rachel or anything and think she played fine enough, I totally disagree with this sentiment that she played the best new era game ever and is this all time winner, especially when we just saw the likes of Dee and Yam Yam. It's really bizarre having been around for the reaction of S30 with people saying Mike isn't that great of a winner (which I agree with) and then now having everyone hyping up Rachel's game to such a degree. I feel she played roughly as well as Sam did, though both had fairly flawed games. And I totally agree that strategically Andy played 100% optimally, despite having clear social gaps in his game.

This is nice and everything but what do you prefer between 44 and 45

You're missing the point of why people are raving about Rachel. Rachel is a 34yr old woman who no one would have seen as a challenge beast which makes people have a soft spot for her. She also made interesting moves like her shot in the dark play and her funeral which essentially secured an FTC win for her. She is also very level headed and a normal person which people relate to.

I feel like the season fell off after rome and sierra vote out. it was just boring

Personally for me through and through this season was fine, it never blew me away, it didn’t really have any stand out moments for me, and the 2 people I went In with knowledge of (first time this has ever happened for any reality show) Ashya from RHAP and Rome from Esports both went home fairly early and it just made me not care too much about the season by the end. Rachel is a good winner, Andy and Geniveve were fun to watch and I’d enjoy seeing them back, otherwise I don’t really feel anything about this season. Of the seasons I’ve watched, (DvG, 41-47, AUHvV, AUTvR) it’s definitely on the lower end of my rankings. But not because it was bad, more so just fine

This season had a lot of highs but it became incredibly dull by the end, I’m somebody that has no problems with Rachel whatsoever, it’s not like the producers were gonna rig the game for a Rachel win if they weren’t doing anything when Jesse lost out in 43. Like a balance challenge? That both Cassidy & Owen excelled in? If they wanted to rig stuff they can just vary them more Genevieve, Anika, Sol, and Andy were my favorites, Operation Italy was incredibly entertaining, but the rest of the merge was just kinda meh, lotta scrambling for a lotta predictable landslide votes

The challenges this season really really let me down ngl like how many times did we see the players use balls in a challenge way way too many I am so tired of the puzzles sure a puzzle or two can help make variety but when it is basically every challenge it gets old really really quickly

Why is Kieran the sore loser? Wilf tried to get him and Kieran tried to get Wilf, what is the issue? Wilf messed it up by saying something like "you're not my friend if you vote for me". He completely freaked out, he did not deserve a win.

Where would you rank the S2 Canadian winner?

Marielle being ranked below Kate is crazy to me. Marielle should have easily been in the top 10. Let's not forget she didn't have any previous English versions to watch. She dominated from 24 up until final 8 and would have probably easily won, if not for that 1 mistake. On the other hand, Kate made horrible decisions and completely tanked her own game from the moment she became a traitor.

Hot Take (that’s way too long): In BB2, Nicole genuinely might have played a better game than Will, or at least almost as good of one as they honestly played some what similar games. Will played genuinely pretty awful for the first few weeks where he really did nothing but make enemies and lose the other two members of his alliance back to back. It’s very impressive how well he managed to recover and use things like leveraging comps and managing his threat level especially in the first season, but Nicole also threw comps for strategic purposes and played pretty ahead of her time for the first real season. Flipping the vote the first week to stay was extremely impressive, and she basically had both Will and Hardy wrapped around her finger for the mid game and played both sides fairly well. Hardy, the comp beast of the season, was basically willing to do anything she said, and Will considered her a major threat/person he needed to keep an eye on. Will eventually manages to get the upper hand on her and outplays her in the endgame, but if she wins the final four HoH (which she probably only lost in the way she did due to a banner plane) she almost certainly wins the season imo.

I'm only at #32 but I laughed at the reveal of who was being described. angus is everything I found irritating about paul from uk series two but turned up to eleven and with less strategy

I absolutely and positively hate this so-called “New Era”. So much so that after twenty-plus years I’ve stopped watching. Too much time is spent watching the contestants sitting on a rock solo and talking big about their game play and less time watching how the game is actually being played. The players are fed way too much. And before the game starts they’re taught how to make basic shelters, how to weave, how to fish and how to make fire. There are too many puzzles and not enough emphasis on strength, skill and dexterity. The “survivor” aspect of the game has been removed. Now it’s all about mental play. The contestants that played the game ten, fifteen, twenty years ago were better players. The wimps that are selected to play in this “new era” wouldn’t last a week against the former cast members. And I especially despise how the show is edited now. Misleading and very poorly done. Contestants all say afterwards that how the game is shown is not how the actual game was played. Too much is edited out. And what’s with that asinine slow motion walk when they head to the next challenge. Ridiculous. You really fucked up Survivor Jeff.

I dont get why they despise returnee seasons why can't we get more than once every 5 years and 10 seasons
