    I am on the coast. I recommend the 5 gallon water jugs. They are can be refilled, and exchanged. It's way easier to keep track of how much water you have. They nake little hand pumps for them for $5 on Amazon. They also make a tilter. You could refill these with tap water before the storm if you're low on funds. Contractor plastic (you'll need strong construction taoe) was a god send when we had no power for ten days. We blocked the master bedroom & kitchen off from the rest of the house and ran a window unit on our half. 😊

    I am 67 years old, retired international airline captain and I moved here 30 years ago because I wanted to be in a warmer climate once I had gotten older and couldn’t ski anymore. My wife and I had horses and so we bought a 6 acre horse farm which we had for five years I immediately fell in love with the Gulf of Mexico and the excellent fishing, both saltwater and fresh. The house prices were stagnant back then and we sold the horse farm for about what we paid after spending a lot of money fixing it up. I was divorced and bought a home in the historic district in 2004. I absolutely love this location in the past few years. The prices have gone up considerably, but I still find that they are reasonable. There is a southern charm here. Children say yes ma’am and no sir. As a progressive Democrat, I’m greatly outnumbered politically, but it doesn’t really cause too many problems. I plan on coming out of my house with a toe 🏷 tag. This is my home and I love it here.❤

    It does get pretty cold usually every January for a few days. It damages or kills Hibiscus, Bougainvillea etc. Only Camellia and Crepe Myrtle // Dogwood and Magnolia seem to handle cold well - 20s sometimes. Ocala is THE coldest area covered by Orlando News/weather. Ironically it gets coldest with clear skies and no clouds to trap heat - and with No breeze. Wind makes people feel cold but still air is worst for plants and Citrus - also low spots get coldest as makes sense like near ponds. Why these details? Because winter can get cold enough to kill flowers and Citrus - or ALMOST do so - and these details can make the difference between the two. How do I know? Been in Ocala 17 years with many visits before that, listening to weather reports - and handling dead or damaged plants.

    Just because two construction methods meet the same wind resistance rating or or both meet other building codes, does not mean that they are equal. Once could exceed codes by a small amount and the other could exceed the codes by a large amount.

    • @StephanieSellsOcala
      @StephanieSellsOcala 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends. If you're paying cash, and the home is vacant, most title companies can close in as little as 2-3 weeks. If you're financing the purchase, then allow 30 days or more. And all of it is negotiable, so there is no single answer that applies to every situation.
