Basic Triangle Patterns On The Harmonica
Hey guys this video breaks down what triangle patterns are and how they can help getting different ideas. I'm using a "C" OOTB Special 20 (with some cosmetic customizations and a little reed word done by myself) in second position in the key of G. Nice! For tone, try cranking the amp and using the volume control on your mic to inch your way up before feedback. As far as comments like @bravowild have to input, I remember when Blues Travel came out with the song "Warmer Days." People moaned and complained because Popper was not playing traditional blues, i.e., Little Walter style. Finally got around to watching this interesting as always. I reckon you could do lessons your defiantly good enough. Make sure you have a lesson plan and a structure tho. Plus teaching is a skill if you want to get good at it you’ll need to practice. Getting better at harmonica will make you a better teacher but getting good at teaching will make you a great teacher.

On the draw 3 are you bending that or just hitting it as a passing note?
Yup I almost always have that 3 draw bend. Even on the fat run ups I have it bent too it's just small but quick changes in the mouth

That's some cool stuff man! Also some good harmonica chops, keep it up! I've been going through a journey of playing tenor sax with fx pedals and multifx units (bit like yourself), it's good fun and it teaches you a lot about how mixing/EQ work! "D" on your pedal means "Detune", it doubles your "clean" sound and adds a sligthly off-tune version of it, vibrato or chorus fx would give you similar results

@@KyrenHarmonica food for thought to expand the sonic possibilities of that pedal: if you play around with the "blend", you can go 100% FX sound (-1 octave), add some overdrive from your amp and then play riffs just like an electric guitar. You could do it to back up someone else taking a solo. The latch/momentary function means you can either have the effect ON or OFF (latch), or only ON when you press it (momentary). If you plug an expression pedal (a cheap one could be got for like $35/40) you can do a glissando (like a wide bend) between any interval. Say you use the octave setting, as you rock that exp pedal up it will pitch shift the note gradually until you hit the octave (up or down).

What I play there is the Mixedup-lidian descending if you look up "Jason Ricci Pat Ramsey Licks #2" you'll see him break it down. I also suggested to always try to learn it by ear even if it may take an hour or 2 that's what I use to do and it got me a better ear for sure! I have tried like a gelding to produce an OB for 9 years. And I play quality (IMHO) instruments. I don't think it's ever gonna happen. Leaves me outta the loop on many exercises. They would enhance some of my improvisation, but I have to work around it.

Very nice! Are there any known or nice paterns using notes that are not next to each others in the blues scale too? Like jumping from 2D to 4B then back to a lower note..ect? I guess it would be more advance but so far (in my 1 month harmonicist carreer :) I haven't heard patterns using the full scale, rather than 'touching' notes up and down
There's something similar to that it's called pedal points I should make a video on that but it's basically doing something like this 2D 3', 2D 4B, 2D 4D, 2D 5D, 2D 6B it's not necessarily a Triangle pattern but it's a pattern where you always come back to that first note
