About the hardcase, whatever's in it is important. It's important to Astrid, so by extension it's important to Will, even though will doesn't know what's in the case. Now since the case is important to Will, Mathis believes that he can use it to gain some sort of advantage or power. Potential spoilers below: TLD Wintermute and Lore peeps have a pretty good idea what's in the case, and we have a somewhat decent idea what we can expect from Wintermute Episode 5. And Mathis can actually use what's in the hardcase to his advantage. When you finish with Episode 4, you'll know a lot more. 7:37 - no, no, people still live in these temps xD sure if your clothes get wet or something YOU ARE in danger of freezing to death. But if you are dressed appropriately it's fine. In fact, some of my relatives used to live over the polar circle and they say that when my area gets -20, -25 C it feels worse than way north at -40, -50 C because of differences in humidity (high humidity feels colder). Edit: as for the body temperature - you'll be long dead before your blood freezes. You are considered hypothermic at 35 C (95 F) and at 20-28 °C (68.0-82.4 °F) you loose conciousness. Though some people survived lower body temps - without extencive medical help you are toast at that point

I feel like if you played a little more realistic and not so gamey, you would actually fare better. Like does it make sense to walk around and build 15 minute fires everywhere? What would you really do? Maybe fuel a fire to last hours... Or going to sleep. If you were in an abonded store with these temps, and made a fire would you make a 15 minute fire and go to sleep? No you'd probably think, oh id like this fire to last several hours... Also.... there is a free fire you can use at the old lady house. The game is requires more common sense and less gamey mechanics.

So when they become more clearly visible - it's up to the Sun :) The closer you are to one of the magnetic poles of the Earth the more intence they are but sometimes they can even be visible in US or most of Europe. I didn't saw one bright enough to be visible with just an eye but still captured a few with long-exposure shots

16:37 - it's the type of wood you are using... they all have different effect on your chance of starting a fire

9:42 - until you learn advanced archery the game won't let you use bow while crouched

i prefer cold weather over the insanity we get in the summer BUT, frankly, you get stuck with no power in a city and it gets legitimately scary after a few days (back on the farm - no problem; here? i can't exactly burn a camfire inside the appartment)

The story mode is great because it helps you understand the world. HOWEVER the game truly begins to shine in the sandbox survival mode. I’m telling you brother please put some time into survival and set some goals for yourself. That’s where you will either fall in love with the game or put it away for a few months. Good luck out there in the long dark

I do love this game. Can't wait for LD2. I know they say to not use these survival techniques IRL in the disclaimer but I'm very tempted to eat some cat tail stalks and burdock root 😅

I would recommend you doing the 3 vault safe house missions they give a lot of loot for that part

26:56 - yup, it's mainly for support; wind and young trees is not the best combo. If i remember correctly - it's an apple orchad. Edit: but tbh it also looks like something we do here - you are supposed to cover trunks with straw to keep the frost at bay. In this case these things are there to keep straw in place. So can be both. ?
