4:48 - that's one of the things i love about tld - there are many of these little locations that maybe aren't that important in the grand scheme of things but are sure nice to discover. And there certainly are some impressive caves:) Storymode allows for a lot of exploration, so if you really want to go somewhere - you can. Though it is easier to go from objective to objective (mostly because the faster you go through them the less resources you need). As far as i remember, no mission is timed unless you have a literal timer on screen.
Great video Jay! Press Tab to see the time and smell meter. When going down a steep slope crouch to help avoid sprains. You can go down some very steep slopes while crouched. You can make a tea from Reishi mushrooms that will heal dysteny. You can also use the mushrooms in one of the special recipes that you can find. Save distress pistol flares for bears and moose. For black wolves light a torch or if its windy a flare and then choose a rock from the radial menu - the lit torch/ flare will drop at your feet - now keep aiming the rock at the wolf (don't throw it) and the wolf will charge but will veer off and run away at the last moment. Repeat as need be. There are at least a couple caves behind waterfalls, not on Forlorn Muskeg though. Default autowalk key is Z. Open the radial menu and click in the center to see your stats including the temperature. The mornings are the coldest part of the day and the temperature generally will slowly warm up. Looking forward to the next episode and hope that you stream or video a Survival playthrough. Cheers
If you check in your character profile, it will show you the actual temp and the feels like. Your clothes stats, time of day and weather affect this stat. It's not going down because you were well outfitted. Your auto-walk is Z.
14:20 - a) no wind, so no windchill b)afternoons are generally the warmest part of day + fog usually indicates warmer temperature. Weather in TLD varies a LOT, including differences in regional norm (average temperature, frequency of blizzards and speed of wind.... ;say Mistery Lake is cozier than Pleasant Valley vs the whole of far territory is an icy deathtrap).
@@JaySwayGaming Next time you look over at something and think "That looks interesting", the only thing to stop you investigating is your need for shelter. FWIW If you do play I'd recommend Voyageur... It's about what you're used to and it's forgiving enough that you can explore and afford to make some mistakes. Stalker is very wolf-heavy and interloper is nigh impossible unless you know the maps well enough to work out where you are in the middle of a storm and know where to find guaranteed matches. Best of luck whatever you do, I'll be following your progress.
Compared to 2nd episode, i'd say, the rest makes you walk just as much but it's less of a hike in one direction and just more short quests + quests vary more. But as you might noticed, i'm mostly Survival player, so this is from my vague memory.
Very slight spoilers (?) . . Random thought: i know they didn't implement some of the newer mechanics in the Story and idk if it's for the best or would be fun to play with it. Like imagine fighting the bear but "severe lacerations" is a thing? Or "broken ribs"? I suppose scurvy would be very hard to get in the limited time anyway. btw, anyone knows if birch bark tea is a thing in the story? i can not remember for the life of me. Man, maybe i should play the story one more time xD

Always with the best tips ever. Thanks so much!
17:46 - Nope :) you just weren't hiding, so.... Lol, tbh i forgot about THAT part
Reishi mushrooms can be prepared in the crafting menu, then you can make tea. The tea has the same effect as antibiotics or burdock root tea
Ahhh thanks for that
Helluva thumbnail, buddy!
Thanks! 😅

I was well outfitted!? Ayyye good to know that’s even possible. I’m so used to being on this constant timer to find warmth

its wird when they say carter in this cuz thats my name lol
The Carter Hydro Dam!
Ahhh nice haha
Honestly dude... Abandon the story and just play survival. It's all the bits you love without the fetch quests and silliness like invincible bears.
So tempting. Maybe I’ll do both at the same time

15:43 - you talked shit about him xD
Haha I was not ready for that AT ALL

Ok that’s good to know. It’s honestly not that bad, especially if I focus more on exploring
