Tullich 17, Carved Cross Stone

Tullich 17 is one of 27 carved stones found at the Tullich Church site in Aberdeenshire. It is a coarse grey granite stone, measuring 400 x 200 x 140mm. It is decorated with a Latin-style cross, with the upper arms opening into an irregular ring. The base of the stone tapers to a point. The stone is thought to date from 650 - 750 AD, during the later Pictish - Early Medieval period (7th - 10th Centuries AD). This stone was found during archaeological excavations at the site in 2013.
