That is the organ of St. Giles, Cripplegate. Wakeman was friends with the organist there, and did occsionally act as substitute for Sunday services with the older gent took a week off. The same organ appears on THE SIX WIVES OF HENRY VIII

Big Ricky W has yet to make his presence properly felt. Ho, ho, ho. Later: that thing that sounds like an organ is (wait for it) an organ. A real one in an ecclesiastical building, normally only used on Sundays while a congregation sings hymns. This means that, if you are a late 60s prog-rock band with a very talented keyboard player with a classical training, and he decides that he would like to use a real organ for one of the organ parts, there is not much problem finding one that he can use. Glad you enjoyed it. By the way, there is no regulation about how long a music track should be. The limitations are/were imposed by radio stations more concerned about fitting ads into a block of time than delivering actual art.

This album came out the same year I graduated high school. 50 years later here I am still enjoying it as much if not more than I did that first time. I am entirely confident that I will never hear a song in this lifetime that is this good, and just as confident that I will hear something more woderful when I get to heaven. Until then....

My favourite Yes album. I first listened to Relayer in 1975 and saw them perform GoD at Cobo Hall in 1976, which appears on the Yesshows album. In fact, it is my favourite musical piece ever! It moves me on a such a visceral level, that I stopped listening to it for about 20 years, it affected me so much. But thanks to your channel (& some others) I have been enjoying it again through the rections and the tears that inevitably come. An absolutely stunning piece of music. Their Magnun Opus I would say.

Loving this song for 50 years? Since 1972 or 73. The first time I heard it in my friend Jeff's dorm room, I was just blown away. We had, uhhh, already been partaking, got me? Should have seen this live in '75. THE most powerful concert Yes ever did. Height of their musical powers. By the time they got to "Soon Oh Soon" (with waves of green laser light bathing the arena) there wasn't a dry eye in the house. These guys were beyond great. Oh to see that show just one more time...!
