Great Video thank you I just purchase your preset but i get a overload on the FM9 i got the Turbo Version not sure if i have to do any type of additional settings also i cant see the 8th / 9th block any advice? thank you
Amazing set up. Thank you for sharing. I also have the FM9 turbo it is a beast. God bless you.
can you show teardown, what's inside of this thing? Really wanna know what audio interface does this thing have
the manual, online, indicates to set he main audio playback to TSMega. So, it would seem that it's the same interface that's in the Melaudio Tone Shifter Mega. Though, that device was only 2X2, and this is 4X4, I think. Additionally, I would assume that PainAudio did some tweaking to it in the past 5 years as well.
@@TJEvans98 so it's his in-house design purely for this thing
@@noway1co In a way....sorta. Don't quote me on this, but I had read somewhere that Wilson (the face of PaintAudio, and I assume sole engineer) worked for Melaudio at one point. from what I can gather, he invented and designed the Tone Shifter Mega for Melaudio. It's similar to this, in that it has the midi controller, as well as an audio interface within. It's designed to be used with a tablet device, like an iPad....even has a groove to hold an iPad. The CE1, is essentially a better version of that, with the PC built in, no need for the tablet, anymore. However, since it's a 4X4 interface, I would assume that he took his original 2X2 design and at least updated it. The other caveat here is that this IS made in China, where intellectual property means very little....I mean, look at some Behringer products. I don't know what pre-amps Wilson is using in the TSMega interface, or whether it's a completely original design, or what, but it could really be anything at this point. No shade at Wilson, I mean, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm thinking of doing a teardown when I get mine, depending on how complicated it might be. I'd like to know whether the CPU can be swapped out, and how difficult that might be. I'd like to know if the RAM can be upgraded as well. Watching Wilson's video about choosing the CPU he chose, it would appear that he tested many, landing on the N200 processor for stability issues. He mentioned a "clicking" sound when he tested other processors. The N200 isn't very powerful, but has a VERY low power draw, and I have a mini PC with an I7 that I'd like to see if it fits. He also never mentioned whether he optimized the CPU/Windows for audio "production," or not. I mean, this is a computer that has one dedicated purpose...I'm not planning on installing Microsoft Office on it, or any games, or even Google Chrome. I've already copied all of my plugin and DAW install files to a USB to sideload, so I don't even really need to ever turn the Wifi on. The small choices I found interesting was that he opted for a USB C to HDMI for an external monitor, yet kept 5 pin Midi in/out, when he could have used 1/8th inch TRS or midi over USB to free up more room. (if that was the deciding factor for not using a full HDMI output.) It seems to me that space could have been freed up for possibly more USB ports. This product is definitely a step in the right direction for guitar effects. It shows that some open minded people are looking forward to the evolution of the gear we use. To give you an idea of my thought process....why in the hell are we still using 5.5mm DC power supplies, when just about the entire world can be powered with USB C? There are some pedals where this is an option...I hope more manufacturers follow suit so that we can eventually be able to power an entire board from a power bank. Power supply manufacturers would have to switch up and starting making guitar centric USB power supplies to keep up...but it's a step in the right direction, if you ask me.
@@TJEvans98 I'm totaly sure that CPU is 100% is not swappable it's probably some beelink minipc base with some changes. RAM probably upgradable, if he uses some kind of minipc base. Also, currently I have a board with n100 and it's basicaly the same thing as the n200 (same cores/cache, just slower graphics) I tested it with the Tim Henson archetype plugin on 48000/16 buffer size and it runs perfectly with and without a daw (without cracking noises). Keep in mind I had official full win11 installed, which eats a lot of resourses. I see one more option here as to install ameliorated windows (Atlas playbook). It will boost performance of the PC drastically increasing amount of plugins which you can use at the same time (currently using one on my main pc). Soon I'll be testing this stuff, I can share results with you if you want. The clicking sound comes from really small buffer, which processor can't handle. On my main laptop I usually play with 64 buffer. So, realistically speaking, if you want to download there whole project with different plugins on this little thing, you'll need to do some optimizations (baking/flattening tracks or do on/off plugin automation). Really would love to see teardown of this thing :D
Is it included the Neural DSP plugin by default?
@@Adiyat_Coto no sir, you have to buy the plugins you want. There is a few free stuff out there though if you look
no
Wow finally I can watch Netflix on my pedalboard 🙌
They should've gone with Linux though. Windows is quite unstable.
The only thing I'm worried about for the CE-1 is forced Windows updates. Otherwise, I believe this is the future of DSP: Full computing systems in audio I/O friendly form factors. It opens up a whole world of replacing RAM sticks for more processing signal, overclocking CPUs to achieve lower latencies, etc. Exciting!
Yeah just got to remember to push it back after 5 weeks lol 😂 i must say though its pretty stable for the most part.
Also....sorry so many questions Shutting down.....do you you have to use the window icon in the bottom left and select shut down, or is it optimized to just use the power button? Speaking of optimization, did you do anything to attempt to make it more use specific? I mean, I already have a Mac Mini and a PC on my desk to use for other non-studio purposes, so I plan on this unit ONLY containing the things I need for live use....and hopefully recording (If DAWS will work on it). I noticed that Gig Performer has an E-Book on their site for optimizing a PC for the stage....
Na ask away! You do have to shut it down like a computer but it takes like 2 seconds so not that big of a deal. I also plan to make this a hybird rig for effects and amps sims only. I can totally run it all in one though if I wanted to.
@@hairman49er DUUUUUDE.....I just downloaded Gig Performer on my main PC, and OH MY LORD.....Just playing around a bit, and I had my signal going through their built in Uloud(??) thing, as well as Helix Native, Revalver, and Plini X, IN PARALLEL.....I never thought I'd be plugged in to 4 amps and cabs simultaneously, into 2 stereo outputs. I can't wait to get my CE1...the results will be ENDLESS.....I did no optimization to my mini PC...it's used for work, games, etc....and there was literally zero lag noticeable.
next Listen Tonex/Neural DSP Tone?
Hayden, have you tried the "Virtual Capo" in the Pitch effect block for changing keys? You can set up four channels on it (just set the hold function on whatever footswitch you assign to it to cycle through all the channels) for different keys and it tracks quite well if you put early on in the chain and have input 1 trigger it. You might be able to "drop" the "drop" pedal off your board for some more space! 😉
I actually have and I love it! The only problem is its CPU heavy and takes a away a spot for a pog if I need one. Great idea though!
In all my years of playing Worship you have the most beautiful sounds coming out of your FM 9. Incredible playing also. Absolutely beautiful.
@@garycoraluzzi1166 thank you so much! 🙏 im still chasing tone through other stuff now but the FM9 will always have a place in heart.
@ Hi Again, is that FM9 preset still available? Please
@ link to it is in the description.
Thats sick, U2 is pure nostalgia. Their sound feels like a bridge to moments we never want to forget. Rediscovering their songs is like revisiting a piece of history that still resonates today.
bigsky= cloud reverb :)
How Can I make my pedalboard sound even more holy than this?
I'm actually buying another Helix today. I had one for a while and traded it for a Tele and went the pedalboard route. My pedalboard is built around an HX Stomp XL because I was familiar with the HX UI, but I miss my Helix. There is just something special about it and how easy it is to use. I do think the HX amps sound better with analog drives though, but the Helix drives sound pretty good too. I'm also glad you aren't burying your tone in reverb. The more I play music, even CCM, the less reverb I use unless I'm doing swells or trying to pad.
I Agree with that. Analog drives still beat every modeler to me even axe-fx. The user interface on the helix is still unrivaled even after 10 years. Thats crazy to me lol
Works on fm 3 turbo?
No.the Fm3 doesnt have enough DSP like the FM9. Not sure what would happen if you tried it.
Sounds like a harmony to How he loves lead line 😂
How can I buy the preset
I can see your display screen of the scene seem to be different from FM9. Did you change something in th setting to show it this way.
That was jazzy
Woww.Nice playing. And i like all the little details.Thx for sharing.Should do a vid on how to set up the midi😉
Can you make a tutorial on this
do you have any phase issues using 2 tonex? i've seen that you need a special DI box with phase inversion in order to make them sound right
Not with these captures, they are in phase thankfully. Just depends on the captures you use.
What is it about awful contemporary Christian music that you need 6k worth of delay and reverb pedals?
Why did you sell this?
Wanted to try new things but i never could dial in the overdrives well, volume wise. I might come back one day though!
Real smooth👌
Sounds really nice!
Great tone and playing bro
Thank you 🙏🏻
The only reason I am looking to move away from FM9 is that I don’t like how the modeled amps take reverb and delay before the amp once gain you introduce gain. Doesn’t sizzle the right way to my ears.
You are absolutely right! Same problem for me and then i felt the drives were not that great. The levels on them for gain stacking was all over the place for me.
@@hairman49er I am going to try stereo tonex in FX loop of fm9 before completely going back to an individual pedal with midi setup.
Cool
JESUS, I'm Not Ashamed 🙌🏼 YOU Are My KING 👑 And I Love YOU 🙌🏼❤️🔥🙌🏼 HALLEL MELECH YESHUA (PRAISE KING JESUS) ❤️🔥🙌🏼👑🙌🏼❤️🔥
I really like my pedalboard, but I would not go as far as saying I worship it 🤣
💩💩
This is a great board. Does the Bridge 6 also do MIDI clock?
It sure can!
Minute 6:55 song is typical by mutemath one of my favorite bands 🔥
Worshipful pick up change as well … great set up rediculous connections to where you play
Doesn’t that midi unit have two clocks internally ??
Can you share the big sky settings for the blue 1-3
Hi just trying to understand, what amp do you actually use then if you have amp modelers? Like st church do you have actual amps as well?
No amps anywhere. The ToneXs act as the amp and cab for me and then everything goes XLR to Front of House.
Great board! Is there a specific reason for putting the volume pedal after the drive section instead of at the beginning of the chain? Just curious!
To control the volume. Distortion can be controlled with the guitar's volume.
Great board! ✨ Have you gotten any phase issues using different amps, or have you landed on 2 ”vox” style amps because of this reason?
@@benjaminkoskinen5835 No phase issues, with Tone Shepards captures, he makes sure they are all in phase.
Tone is on POINT
What chorus type do you use in the Mobius? Multi, digital or the other one I’m forgetting the name of right now lol
Chorus is Multi and Vibrato is Vibrato 😊
Awesome board dude!
Love the tones you are getting from that board! It looks pretty inspiring to play
Appreciate the shout out brother!! This is a great board!! 🙌🏼
Today is my first rehearsal for our worship team. Im so nervous. I dont have a packed pedal board like this. Just an amp and a guitar. Im using a katanaMKII 100w amp. And a telecaster guitar and a fender acoustic. Any advice for what pedal i should buy first to help reach that worship tone? Edit: i got saved about 3 weeks ago, coming from a rock n roll band that played everything from heavy metal to soft rock.
Firstly i would say, you got this! Secondly, that’s a great background to come from as I was the same way. Practically with your gear, i would just use the Katana’ s clean setting but adjust the gain accordingly to an edge of break up sound. Not fully overdriven, to start you off. For the fx a little room reverb or spring goes a long away and if you can do some sort of slap back tape delay setting on it, you should be good to go to get you by! For pedals i would probably start with some multi all in one pedal to go into the amp you have. A line 6 HX effects is a great all in one solution to start you off. Hope that all helps!!
What does "Worship" have to do with anything? I never understood this adjective when used in the context of musical equipment.
Im not fully sure myself honestly. To me, it just says the gear and sounds being used are aimed towards worship environments vs something else like country or metal.
“Worship” in this context just means the contemporary Christian worship music genre. When people say “worship guitar” or “worship pedalboard” it means they play for their church and they are talking about the gear they use for the genre/style of music used in modern worship music (bethel, Hillsong, phill Wickham, Cain, elevation, etc.)
its just the edges tone used for jesus
I think it's a genre for protestant churches. Reverb with a lot of decay
Either that, or they worship the pedalboard 😂
Awesome board! I like the midi pages you have setup for the TimeLine. I need to make some pages like that on my Bridge 4.
Awesome video and awesome tone! Ive been dying to get my hand on a couple Tonex’s. Those captures are great! I too have a protein, and it covers so much ground. Thanks for sharing the board!
Do it! ToneXs are so great for the digital amp solution.
Nice board! I still try to figure out what people are talking about when they say with fractal they would tweak endlessly. Have no idea. My amp on FM3 is set the same for at least 3 years. As for the effects it is the same: set once and forget about it. I get it that everyones approach is subjective, just don't get the reasons behind the move.
For me, with fractal, i would always hit a CPU limit and then have to compensate or compermise somewhere else on my effects chain. I like to have everything i use on one preset right in front me. Still FM3 and FM9 are grest units! No doubt!
wow
