    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, that is one potential theory! I like to start off with optimizing your lifestyle because things like sleep regulation, reduction of stress, and regular exercise can help to balance your hormones. Then I would look deeper into using supplements to help as well. Hope this helps!

      @@FightingEczema Yes, I totally agree with you on the lifestyle but do you mean it's just a theory? thought it was a scientific/medical fact, no? I'm still blown away with the amount of steroid use (topical/internal) used in the medical industry when we ALL know the devastating long term impact. I know folks are looking for a quick fix, but this seems like another forever patient strategy! I'm still livid that this "leading expert in allergy/paediatric doctor" told us that applying diluted steroids into petro jelly was safe and effective for our <1 year old at the time, and that withdrawing was very easy and again, safe...he in fact wanted to prescribe stronger steroids after 1.5 years of daily use! I swear to god, these folks are just legal drug dealers!

    hi there, i have been watching your videos for a while now and i have found them to be so helpful! i have a question regarding tsw and the threshold. when you apply topical steroid creams on a certain area of your body for a long time for example, your fingers or neck, is your body’s healing threshold impacted in just those areas where you applied the topical steroid creams (during TSW) or does this start to affect the WHOLE body. in short, when you have TSW, scientifically does it affect your whole body or just in the areas you applied the creams? i hope this question makes sense! thank you 🙏🏻

    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello! Glad to hear you are finding the videos helpful. A lot of this threshold talk will be theory as there are no actually research studies that can give us clear answers. In my opinion, having TSW can affect both the whole body and the areas it was applied. This is because steroid creams may affect your whole body hormone balance and it can also cause thinning of the skin barrier in the areas you applied it. So having severe TSW means your threshold will be greatly increased. Let me know if I missed any part of your question! Hope this answer helps.

Sometimes being in direct sunlight can irritate sensitive skin Soaps and moisturizers: what other ingredients are in your soaps and moisturizers? Topical products with lots of ingredients may irritate your sensitive skin Fruits: even fruit sugar can cause blood sugar spikes, which may contribute to flare ups. I would stick to low sugar fruits Let me know if you have further questions!

    Unless you only mistakenly included TSW in your title, you lost me at saying how "ANNOYING" you knew itching was. TORMENTING or TORTUROUS work better for me, and especially concerning TSW,. Take TSW out of the title, and 10/10 great video, sensible tips for not only healthy skin but good health in general. For some they may prove to be lifestyle changes for avoiding eczema flare ups., even when-as is likely for most-they are impossible to keep up 100% of the time-making flares inevitable. But they remain important to bear in mind, nevertheless. However, for the ongoing torture of TSW itch, interrupting days, weeks, months and even years of sleep, with an endless horizon of misery the only prospect, these tips are utterly useless beyond encouraging sufferers to maintain good healthy living habits despite the misery they are enduring. TSW is NOT the same diagnosis as eczema. It is a totally different disease. It is a withdrawal from drugs syndrome, not an auto-immune condition somewhat correlating to diet, exercise, sleep etc. These tips will do next to nothing to prevent or help to alleviate the endless waves of bone deep itching that comes with TSW, let alone STOPPING it. Anyone who has experienced it would understand that. In fact, when suffering the worst of TSW itch, tips exactly like these come across as patronising, and belittling of the pain and devastation the condition inflicts. Suggesting otherwise is basically as useful as your introductory joke advice "don't scratch". Here's my tip to enjoy a life avoiding TRULY PATHOLOGICALLY CONSEQUENTIAL itch, not just ANNOYING itch, which is a part of everyone's life, and of course, the lives particularly of eczema prone people. My advice is DON'T USE STEROIDS ON YOUR SKIN EVER, FOR ANYTHING, UNDER ANY BUT THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES.. Follow that advice and you will never have to experience what TSW itch is, and trust me, that is something you will be ever grateful for.

    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree! The thing is, some of these tips may help to reduce the itch in some people with TSW. Maybe not a lot of itch reduction but any little improvement makes a difference when the itch is that bad. There is also a huge range of severity when it comes to TSW. Maybe these tips won’t help if you are in the most severe stages of TSW but maybe some people are a couple years in and just need some slight itch reduction to get them through the day. Hope you understand! 😊

    On another of your videos, I found out about the four non-steroidal medication. I wrote them all down, meaning to take the list with me when I next went to my dermatologist. I strongly believe that I have been suffering from TSW and DO NOT want to do steroids again, which I feel were the cause of the terrible spreading of my eczema. When I forgot to take my list in, she rattled off the names of all four and prescribed the Tacrolimus, but also gave me a few samples of Eucrissa (which burned quite a bit). When I called the pharmacy, they wanted over $400 for it, so I called a different pharmacy and their price was $89, even though the price that my doctor showed online was $49. What a scam there seems to be! So I am still suffering with no medication since I wouldn't pay the $89 without a sample to try first. Will keep following you for more advice and ideas. But just want others to be aware of price gowdjing.

    • @FightingEczema

      There are likely factors that are preventing the skin from healing. It could be anything! Maybe soaps and shampoos you are using are irritating your skin. Maybe you have an inflammatory diet. Maybe stress is causing the reaction to continue. Try your best to figure out what the “root causes” of your skin issues are.

      I’ve heard of people having success with more natural topicals such as coconut oil or jojoba oil! You can also maybe look into Apple cider vinegar rinses. Hope it clears up soon! Sometimes it takes time

    Hi Larry, if you could only take one supplement between Berberine and Histidine, what would you take?

    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m definitely a fan of berberine! But I would try to incorporate it into a proper protocol. For example, berberine is great at killing bad gut bacteria, but you’ll want to also take probiotics along with the berberine to replace the killed bacteria with good bacteria. Otherwise the surviving bad bacteria will just re-populate again. Histidine has some evidence to suggest it works for eczema but results are a bit mixed and in my clinical experience I don’t see it doing much for severe eczema. Hope this helps.

      Yes, this is quite common. The gut issues may be making the TSW worse. I suggest focusing on the gut issues.

    Hormone imbalances. As a woman I got horrible flareups when I was following a fixed intermittent fasting routine for several months, which messed with my hormones. I developed chronic eczema when I turned 20. I got my first flare at puberty as well. Gut health is important regardless if it a root cause of my skin inflammation or not.

    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! Definitely sounds like hormone imbalances are playing a part in your skin issues! Thanks for sharing your experience. Is your eczema pretty much clear nowadays?

      @@FightingEczema I quit fasting 1 week ago so I did see some improvements. I know it's going to take some time..At least I know what the ultimate cause is and I don't feel the need to use my steroids. I'm going to look into cortisol, estrogen and progesterone support. Also my hands get itchy in the morning and that's when cortisol levels are the highest.

    • @FightingEczema
      @FightingEczema 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it’s definitely possible. Although medications usually only treat the symptoms, there is absolutely nothing wrong with treating symptoms if it helps you live a higher quality of life. I am a big fan of working on the internal root causes WHILE ALSO treating the symptoms with a medication like ciclosporine. Hope this helps!
