Oregon Coast | Exploring Devil's Punchbowl
Episode 23 | Oregon Coast @ Devils Punchbowl | November 13, 2022
Exploring the Devil's Punchbowl on the Oregon Coast during a negative tide (minus one foot) means you can explore inside a punchbowl that's generally half full of ocean water. Depending on the moon phase, this generally happens monthly. The super low tides (minus two feet) happen only once a year.
We enjoyed the roughly two hours we had to explore this area. Next time we'll try going earlier to escape the small crowds with barking dogs and excited kids.

    I'm searching for a high quality popup camper and I'm leaning toward Alaskcan strictly for its hard side construction, but I do like Hallmark too. They just seem a bit pricey for what you get. Frankly, all campers are overpriced if you ask me, but that's inflation for you. Any issues with condensation on the soft sides? That's a major concern for me. How much did the Victor cost?

    It’s nice to see a great alternative to other truck campers. The under bed storage is a no brainer. Ridiculous,other mfgs.don’t have it.b4 semis we’re became the thing they are now- they had that.amazing,no condensation.it seems that comes standard with other pop ups.- then there are new,lightweight,hard side options,with built in solar- really looking to those- so many of them leak- unbelievable- so ,your video is interesting,thanks

    Thanks for all that guys! You have a heck of a neat power system there. Is that all part of the standard package, or a Hallmark option, or a custom install? Would you be willing to share a ball park round number for the cost of your rig as outfitted?

    • @GHTOVERLAND
      @GHTOVERLAND ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure thing! Almost (if not all) Hallmark campers are custom. Anything new is ordered and made specific to each customer. At the time we took deliv. the Victor starts about 47k. If you have the budget to do new I'd plan on the neighborhood of 50k. If not, I would look at used Hallmarks. Having the camper now for 7 months, being is snow and rain for the last month, Hallmark is unquestionably the way to go.

    Had to smile while seeing you preparing your coffee. Why? I have the same setup for me in the morning. Jetboil as French Press. If the coffee is for two we are using a thing called percolator (hope the word is correct). By the way roadside coffee was until now always the best. You are so right that there is a huge difference seeing something on video or being there. The smell, the sun or rain on your skin, the wind and the sound of nature is missing. All this is generating the moment. But for me it is more that it gets back while looking lousing the intensity. And sometimes you know you have to get back and refresh it. I was wondering as well, like Lisa, about the plants and how they survive in the small gorges. What fantastic back roads you had. Outstanding. Love it.

      Retiring the Jetboil. The mess from pouring coffee was getting old. The top warping was "the topper" It will go into the "camping gear" for backpacking. Cheers!

    Might sound stupid but I like the reflections of the hills on the engine hood. The impressions at the end are great 👍

      Interesting... and later I go through great acrobatic yoga moves to place the camera on top of Victor to remove the hood... a future apology when you stop seeing the hood :)

      Acrobatic moves are always cool - have you considered to place them in a video 😂. Now worries it looks good with out the hood as well 👍

      @@markus_baude_schiller I've thought about doing specific sets of videos with just the drive, partnered with music. With larger SD Cards now, and a little practice, we're getting closer to seeing if it's something people enjoy. The editing process would be much shorter! :)

      This is a great idea and you should test it. I like to have those “road movies” through an epic country side. Nothing which should be done regularly but from time to time.
