It is amazing! God is the Alpha and Omega and we are His! Yes, sister! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers here, in this crazy weather. A boomer a minute ago scared me it was so close ~ looks like it was .2 of a mile away. But now it sounds like the rain is slacking up. I sure hope that is it for a while. I almost dread going to check the basement. I didn't know marigolds kept mosquitoes away! That is great news! You are really coming up on a b'day here! Do you have any plans to celebrate? Is Mike having a colonoscopy this Friday? Oh my, I had one and it was horrible. Has he had one before? I hope he is okay with that prep stuff. I wish I could cool down your part of the world. Do you always have 104 degree heat in September and October or is this unusually hot this year? Yes, I am blessed, so very blessed, to have space for a garden of flowers. Builders certainly don't 'build houses on large lots anymore. I think that is a shame, as I think everyone needs a bit of space around them. But they are building mega apartments and we even have a Costco and Chick-fil-A within 2 miles of us. it used to be rural! I don't like it, but they didn't ask us and I guess people need a home. You are the best ~ love you and God bless!

@@ATouchOfTheSun Why we bought a home in an established older neighborhood. Our home was born in 1961. It is younger than I am. LOL No basement so no worries about flooding. There is a sink hole up around Phoenix area in the middle of nowhere in the desert up there. They have no idea what causes it. The hole turned into a crack and is slowly growing. If that is where the US is going to break off and fall into the ocean, which really could not happen. But it will break off the mainland at some point thru the ages. Then we WILL have beaches nearby. Those people in the island of California and Oregon and Washington state are going to have to come to the mainland by boat. Not nearly what you have to take care of. I sometimes wonder what my life would be like if we had stayed in WI. Not much for certain. And I believe I would not have made it though the long cold winters up there any more. Life begins in an incubator not a refrigerator. LOL I have your garden to enjoy. It is so lovely there.

Hi my sweet sister in Christ! It is really raining hard now, so no telling how much rain we are getting. At least it held off all day, to help with a little drying out. If the basement survives without flooding, I'll be very surprised! I need to get that boat out and get ready to vacate! How about you all? How are you all surviving in that heat wave? @@ATouchOfTheSun The one thing that makes this bearable is that the sun is down at 6:30pm and the temps drop to the 70's at night. That feels cool to us. So we open the windows and let the cool air in. Then by 9am we have to close everything. No 12 hours of hot sun bearing down on us. That makes it worthwhile. After my birthday we start getting fallish weather. 80's in daytime and 60's at night. Then we remember why we moved here. AND we do not have the high humidity of the Eastern coastal states. So it is okay. No one place has perfect weather all the time. God bless you. It is so good and pleasant for us to talk together and share our sorrows and joys. I will pray your basement does not flood. God can dam up that underground water. Just ask Him. Love and blessings. J

@@ATouchOfTheSun He has to have a colonoscopy Friday at 11am. His prep is from when he wakes up Thursday thru Friday. There are 2 gallons of colon cleanser. He has to drink one gallon between 3pm Thursday to 8pm. Then get up at 3am because 7 hours before procedure he has to drink the other gallon of colon cleanser. Thursday he can have coffee black. No problem but he gets really grumpy when he does ot have his coffee by 8am. Friday is going to be a long day for me. I have to take him to their surgi center nd then back home again. There is nothing nearby so I am going to play games on my phone and bring along a little snack. Now you know MY exciting week. Hugs and love, GBY J

@@NormanChester882 I am sure there is but they don't care. Mike has issues. He wants to make sure his hernia ops did not mess up his colon. So he has to have this. I just think it is ridiculous. They could cleanse the colon without have to down 2 gallons of ANYTHING in 18 hours! Thanks Norm. You are a good friend. God bless you.

It has taken about 24 hours or so for the last two days to upload! I am trying to delete stuff, etc., and figure out what's the problem ~ maybe tomorrow will be faster! I had to mow the grass, probably the last mowing of the season, trying to take down the rest of the stilt grass before it goes to seed. I hope to finish that up tomorrow by hand pulling where I can't go with a mower. The seeds last three years, so I have a lot of incentive to get it up! I am thinking we will be here on this earth, too, when He comes back for us! At least I tell myself it certainly is possible! Thank you so much for stopping by and sharing the joys of His Good News! @@ATouchOfTheSun If you have Windows and McAfee you can just do a disc scan, well now they scan everything attached to your computer and do a disc clean up. It is different with phones. They are like a computer to a point. I cannot see well enough to use my phone to upload anything. I Bluetooth all my cam shots to my laptop. I have some on stick drives too. Not sure about the phone tho. Is it Apple or android? That can make a big difference. Do you have an owner's manual? I have McAfee on my laptop, phone and on Mike's laptop. Or call you phone service and ask them about what to do. Hope you get it working well again. hugs love.

@@ATouchOfTheSun We will still get warmer days. Just because the calendar says it is autumn does not mean the temps are going to obey it. But it was a really nice thing to be able to sleep without the AC running. The noise at night is loud and it was disturbing at first but then it lulled me to sleep. It won't be that cool tonight. I have to have it at least on 73 at night so I can breathe better. God is good. I thank God for you. Love you.

A squirrel got the box open and chewed thru the cable. They did not finish until after 8pm last night. Someone is going to have some nice OT. LOL Love you sis. GBY

You had a NDE? You will have to tell us about that! What spiritual feeling did you receive from it? Peace was mine. I wouldn't be surprised at anything you remember! God has many facets! Please share it if you are comfortable telling about it! We are not close enough to the coast to be in the way of sea surge and direct winds and rain, but sometimes, hurricanes and tropical storms can do a number on us with wind and rain on the lesser scale. Hurricane Fran was the worst that I remember. Hurricane Hazel was in the 50s and I grew up in the '60s hearing of those tales, so it must have been pretty bad. So! It can happen, and we are very wary of its force! And in today's world, it doesn't seem like the forecasts are as accurate as they used to be. God's in control! Amen, Sis! I am glad you received some great rain! Will you see a blush of blooms now? Maybe poppies? I hate you can't breathe in it, but if you're like me, it's okay. God's got it in the long run ~ and when He is close to us, it's awesome. Love you and God bless you, Sister!

@@ATouchOfTheSun When I was 3 I ran a temp of 106. They did not take me to the hospital. The doctors came to our homes back then to avoid polio spread. I was supposed to have penicillin for the infection. But they could not afford it. It was very expensive at that time being new and having it mass produced. Before man made cillin's were made, this was the real deal. They could only afford sulfa. Which was given to me. Along with a lot of aspirin. NO TYLENOL either. Surprised I did not get that child aspirin disease. But my infected ear damaged the nerve. While I was in fever sleep I saw the Lord who I thought He was. He was before me with a curtain and a light that was too bright for me to see him. He said Joyce go back home to your mother. My mom said it was a fever dream. But I was crying before God and feared Him. He was kind and soft spoken. and I was no longer afraid. The next day I woke up with damaged hearing but no fever and I lived to tell about it. Now, memories of a 3 year old are usually vague and not put into the right context sound like childish dreams or imagination. I was so sick and they did not want me to be in hospital. The doctor thought it was polio. But the tests came back no polio. Just a really awful bacterial infection of the ear and eustachian tubes. God wanted me to live. That is it.

God saved you indeed, and I'm sure you have felt like an angel went with you everywhere you went as a child ~ and maybe still today! I doubt you have much fear of anything! After surviving all the horrors of the day, being so sick with such a high fever, and to survive with relatively minor damage, that is a miracle, for sure. i feel like I have just lived that event with you, as if I were there! You either tell it pretty good or God has blessed that event with the ability for others to feel His Spirit and love and mercies. I'm sure it's both. I am uplifted by hearing of the miracle! It is really strange how this is hitting me. What a blessing! I wonder if my experience would have that effect on others? That is something we don't think about, as we are usually reluctant to share something so personal. But if it blesses the ones who hear it (think how the stories in the Bible stick with us), wouldn't we be telling it to others more freely? Definitely something to understand more. Thank you, sis, for sharing your story of His love and mercies. I am thinking about what your folks went through, too. Love you and may God continue to bless you!

@@ATouchOfTheSun They did not think it was a miracle. They thought that the doctor and meds cured me. IT WAS GOD. Sulfa is okay for ear infections but not so for fevers. Sometimes you have two infections at the same time. The doctor told my mom that what I saw was a fever dream and vivid hallucination. How does a 3 year old girl know what God was and that HE told me to go back home. I said I was lost and didn't know how to go home. God shone a light that was so bright.Then I heard a male voice say GO HOME. I was HOME. There are many things that have happened and I never understood why. I believe it was Jesus. I have always had a love for Jesus since I was old enough to see His "picture.". It is like I knew Him from before i was borne. I love being able to tell you this and not think my cheese was slippin' off my cracker. Love you. JJ

Thank you so much for those prayers! She did call tonight and she sounds a bit congested and is still slightly feverish, but things are looking up with SIL and Grandbaby!
