2021 VR1 129" Upgrade to Velocity Sled Performance 136" Kit
Ok, here's a video I've been waiting to make for a long while now but due to Covid delaying my sled and other stuff, didn't get to it until this week.
This is a detailed video, and it's long as you can see. Even though I didn't do every single little step on video I do talk about everything. It was very hard to keep it short as there's a lot of steps and it's a pretty involved swap.
Hopefully those who are intrigued at what it takes to do this swap will appreciate it. I will have a review video by next week after some trail rides.
If you are looking for this kit, here's where you'll find it:
In Canada - directly from Velocity Sled Performance:
VelocitySledPerformance/
In the US - you can get the VSP Products through Caputo's Performance:
CaputosPerformance/

I have the tall windshield and it's still not enough.
@@edwinhermanson8842 sounds like you need to get a max coverage windshield if the large isn’t enough !
Thank you for the information 😊
What's fat 32?
@@kalburiumstormbreath it is the type of file used
Is this process the same for a 2015 Indy? Plug and play would be nice
@@philliphols 2015 there is a RCA plug from Polaris you can purchase, call your local dealer and let them know the model you have and they can get you the proper part needed
4 years later and polaris still has nothing
@@kalburiumstormbreath they have the lock and ride flex system but no fuel caddy.
So, what did you think of the sled overall? It's been a few years since you got the sled and did all the work on it.
Just watched your video for the first time and I now subscribed. What BRP part # would you use if you were doing this today on the same sled? It looks like the part # from BRP that you used is discontinued. I have a new 24 XC 137.
Will this work on a 129 XC 850?
@@lornedehaas6186 I have personally only ever put them on 136/137 & 144 sleds so I don’t want to tell you yes as I’m not 100% sure on that one !
Is this going to be the same process on a 23 XCR 850 136 length?
Would be nice to lock them to the machine and what about fuel storage, where do the rotopaks go?
By far the best bag video EVER. Too bad Polaris makes overpriced stuff like this and won't tell us this important information. I have no idea why they insist on keeping product information so minimal, KTM is even worse.
Do they give you new keepers/push nuts with each new windshield OR lower wind deflector or do I have to go find them myself?
Does it keep the snow out? My glovebox fill with snow
You need to put a piece of foam under the hood I order to keep the snow dust out. Take the hood off and in the valley where the headlight sits down in the air box put a piece of foam the length of that. It will keep all the snow dust out.
I can't find the plug. Mine is a 2023 voyageur s4. Any thoughts?
my23 vr1 boost never came w the wifi chip but normally wouldnt this update automatically as long as you have a wifi in your garage
It isn’t automatic
@@krazykanucksperformance2242 so why did they say its automatic on snowtrax?
@@darrrenbetker4266 I have always done it on the ridecommand site and then download it onto a USB stick and then uploaded the update into the 7s screen and never had an issue.
why not leave the bumper on and just remove the snowflap?
Quick tip I don’t know if it’s been said but put the bolt into the bushing your trying to fit and grind it to size gives a perfect uniform centered fit. You don’t risk taking off too much if you mess up with the grinder.
That can work … in this situation though you’re not after a perfect round circle for where it need to fit .
Far better than the instructions that came with the dang piece. Thanks.
Thanks for making the vid cuz the instructions are 🧙♂️
👌You don’t have to use the die electric … just a very small dab helps it come through the gromet easier
Any idea where the rca is on a 23 4stroke
Hey guys, always enjoyed your videos…..any chance of doing more in the future?
We are currently trying to figure out scheduling to get back into a few new videos !!!
@@krazykanucksperformance2242 Awesome guys! Have a good Christmas.
I have my skid and track out so this was very easy for me to install these and no need to remove my snow flap etc...
I bought this same M2 heated seat. Your video helped me out with those pesky front nuts under the seat bun. Thank you!
I'm going to do studs and the protection this weekend, this is super helpful. Thanks, guys.
I wonder why they are not on there from the factory as a safety item
all heated seats accomplish is giving u a wet ass. no thanx
I need studs and tunnel protectors for 21 650 xc launch .do you like that stud pattern .I went to the woodys site and they recommend a different patter for the doubles bit ive seen your pattern on sleds too
Terry, this pattern has worked for many years and many different sleds …. It all comes down to personal preference … if your in a racing league then sure some of it might matter but for the trail rider …. It’s not going to make a difference !
Good vid, thanks.
JUST PUT OURS TOGETHER sorry not i mpressed on the build quality or assembly process it has a chineese knock off feel
Sorry that you feel that way about it, everyone has their own opinion!! The system works great so hopefully you give it a try with an open mind, try to be positive and the outcome will surprise you ! Cheers and have a nice day !!
I would have bought those if they did not carve their initials all over the place. I am not going to be someones billboard. I went elsewhere and got black ones w/o writing.
HI guys, I could not help but notice your ice scratcher set up for the VR1 in this video. I would love to know what you used for scratcher and the catch you have holding them up. Long story short, I have a 2015 and 2017 ProS 800. I DO NOT WANT CABLE SCRATCHERS (ABSOLUTE JUNK), I have used the skidoo scratchers with mounts from One-Rig design with great success, but there is nothing to hang them on when you don't want them down. I am intrigued by your scratcher and catch set-up. Any help?
On the pro-s these style of tunnel mount scratchers won’t work unfortunately !!
I don't think a heated seat on a snowmobile is a good idea.. The first sign of snow gets melted and you will wind up spending the rest of the day with a wet ass.
I understand your thinking on this but…..Most snowpants are gortex so water isn’t an issue ever 🤙
This is the best Polaris tunnel bag video I have seen. Good job guys!
Never needed them still dont been ridi g since the 60s. Have a 21 polaris 650 presently
Will this fit the 136 xcr
Yes they will fit …..the 136” is due to the pitch of the track and the 2.52 pitch drivers otherwise the tunnel is the same on a 137 and 136 🤙
They should design something so you could stack bags on top of each other? On a long trip 2- 16” tall bags would be great
That would definitely be a great idea I agree !!
How would a 2021 xcr 600 ride on the groomed trail.I am looking at low mileage and in 60 y/o run groomed trails and am 6'5" "Thanks Terry from NB.
You won’t be disappointed, the switch back xcr’s are a great riding machine and when the trails get rough they excel !
I suggest you show where the fuse box and fuse is on the sled that powers the charger circuit and other accessories.
Good job, awesome video!
Is this the M2 or FT2? Is there a weight limit or capacity per the 2 up seat? Thank you.
What's the advantage of the bigger axle wheels? Thanks Boosted!
In this case the big wheels and offset Axel are used to make it go from a 129” to a 136” other benifits are Less rolling resistance, and bringing the studs straight up out of the Surface they are into as the track rolls around the wheels, helps with speed runs aswell and of-course it looks pretty sweet
Glad I saw your video - the install instructions say to remove a lot more!
Great video but i would recommend the next time you use a grinder like that take the handle off and put it in the vice so its stationary.
why bother. Polarises system works better!!!
Main reason is due to Polaris currently not having a fuel can as an accessory at this time
@@krazykanucksperformance2242 you would think that someone from Polaris would see the need for a Polaris fuel Caddy,
@@MLSPlatformsliability and only that. No US snowmobile manufacturers make one.
my battery is in there
If you own a 2023 trail Boost with electric start then that is correct your battery is in there but everyone sled with electric start there is no battery under the seat.
Where did you guys go ?
Worst systeme ever made wow
I have a 2015 assault 144. Would this same system work for me?
Yes it should work for you as long as you the the T-slots in the tunnel 👌
Well done ! no jibber jabber just right to the point very professional thank you!
Good vid! Just installed mine. You're right - the hand rivet tool was a pain in the a$$!
129 or 137 sled ? i have 129 xc 2022 and i look for passager seat
