    how do you know that none of the studs are structural?

    • @InDadsGarage
      @InDadsGarage 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Hey thanks for watching, I’m not a qualified expert so don’t pay any attention to me. But usually internal stud walls aren’t structural, hence being a stud wall. Basically a frame for the plaster board to be hung on. If it was structural / load bearing then it would be brick or block. If unsure though then best to get someone who knows about this to confirm before you attack it with a hammer. For new builds the stud wall underneath the stair I took out is highly unlikely to have any structural properties. BUT once again I’m no expert, nor qualified 😃.

      Hi thanks for your comment. The only thing I can think of to mind is that your phone is connected to both the Audi MMI system and the screen. From my experience you need to forget the Audi MMI Bluetooth and WiFi connection in your phone and just connect to the screen bluretooth. You will need to select media to hear and take calls through CarPlay from then. Hope that helped and you figure it out 👍

      I also do not think they are legal for car if they did not come out the factory with LEDs fitted. As the headlight was never designed for them originally it could cause oncoming driver to be dazzled. Asked my garage last year about this and it would be an MOT fail.

    Since you changed your pcv valve does your oil cap still suck on a lot ? Mine is really strong and if I take it off the engine cuts out how do you actually know if it’s broke ?

    • @InDadsGarage
      @InDadsGarage 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey, yes even after a brand new PCV the suction on the oil cap is still really strong, apparently this is normal for these V8 engines, they suck like a Dyson. I actually don’t think there was anything wrong with mine in the end 💁‍♂️. The main sign that your PCV is failing on these is a whistling noise on tick over which stops when you put revs on.

    Had the same issues as yourself with my own 720hp C7.5. Bought it in March with only 47k on the clock and it happened within a few days of purchse. My issue was with hot starts, would fire up and immediately die. After 2/3/4 attempts it would eventually come to life. Common issue and I knew it was the HPFP's. When these go, hot (non)starts are the most common symptom you'll find. Easy job to swap them out and when you do if you have a look at the springs surrounding the fuel pump pistons you'll normally find them starting to rust. I noticed that the smell of fuel is nearly the same as it was before the new pumps, it's not excessive at all but always there. My guess is your original pumps were actually fine, but as they go with age (not mileage) then you didn't do any harm and we all know the benefits of preventative maintenance. As for oil level monitoring, there is actually a dipstick you can fit that will give a proper reading. It is listed as for the C6 4.2V8 engine but part no 079115607C will also fit the C7 4.0T engines as well. Our engines need 8.3L of oil so with the amount you put in and then seeing a few hundred millilitres short in the MMI is bang on. Can find that dipstick on the usual auction sites or amazon, etc. Cheers!

  • @Mac_F87
    @Mac_F87 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    To be fair 5w 30 is more than adequate if you change the oil frequently in the UK. As you know we don’t have mega hot weather and we have good quality fuel. One reason 5w 40 would be beneficial is if someone wanted to stretch out oil changes for whatever reason. That way when fuel dilution is factored in the lubrication properties are still somewhat maintained compared to using a 5w 30 oil. An oil analysis at the start wouldn’t give you content though 😉 😂

      Great answer, I wish I could have articulated it in that way. Hopefully people in the comments can use that as good advice 💪. I’ll be sticking to 2-3k oil services so 5-30w sounds good based on that. Thanks for taking the time to watched and leave a comment 😃

    Why dont you use ravenol and mann filter like us rs6 enthusiasts in Germany

    • @InDadsGarage
      @InDadsGarage 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I sometimes use Mann filters, the one I took out was Mann. It’s just what I picked up. Do you believe there is a huge difference in quality between them?

    • @LoopBooost
      @LoopBooost 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @InDadsGarage Yes we discussed on German oil forums that we should stick with OEM oil filter but in reality most of us sticks with mann filter which is usually the OE manufacturer. As for oil we found out Audi engines or in general all engines really enjoy Ravenol, Since they are pao ester based group iv oil and oils such as liqui moly,castrol etc is gas

      Here in UK, Ravenol is not that known as in Europe/Germany.... It's a shame, as UK RS's sure will look worse inside... 😢

      Try with Nerol, now is sold in the UK. A Spanish brand at the level of Redline (higher than Ravenol). Search in youtube analysis of this brand.

    Its worth topping up the oil filter/housing with fresh oil as much as possible, shortens the time the oil pressure is low after start up. There some very detailed testing done on this and it makes a big difference to oil pressure and engine wear.

      @@7YALL When you remove the oil filler cap partially with the engine running you should have a strong suction and if removed totally the engine should sound like it's about to stall. If both happen then your PCV system is in good health ;)

      Totally agree, I only changed my HPFP because I saw a video and then went and smelt my fuel cap and panicked. However I was experiencing warm start issues so it was needed. The rest of the stuff I did since probably wasn't however! BUT at least I learnt how my car comes apart and goes back together lol. Huge thanks for watching and supporting the channel :)

      @@InDadsGarage i will look at examine the oil on my next change i leave in sweden and i use 40w instead of 30w most car guys advise me to be using the 40w..i wanna knw yur thoughts

    • @InDadsGarage
      @InDadsGarage หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is a huge debate between 30W & 40W. People seem to use both in these engines and different manufacutres suggest different grade some 30W and some 40W. I can't comment on what is needed for temperatures and conditions in Sweden, however as long as the oil meets the VAG specs in your manual, usually 504 then you should be good with either. HUGE CAVIET, I'm no expert though lol. My tuner told me to stick with OEM quoted 5-30W unless I am noticing the car burning excess oil, then switch to 5-40W.

    You may know ... all fitted, screen works but it doesnt lift up! All wires connected and checked, ive not bolted everything back in yet, but something isnt happy. No sound but i havent a cable yet from the headphone jack to the mmi. Also heater controls not shown on the screen (the screen that is stuck down) 😂😂 And my screen stick out, i see a small pack of bits in a bag without any instructions as to what they do, but 2 parts look like the audi screen plastic runner parts ... maybe spares in case i break to lose one i dont know. Dont you just love it, any help greatly appreciated, ill ask mr ali express too, but you many know!

    • @InDadsGarage
      @InDadsGarage หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, sounds like you are having abit of a nightmare lol In regards to the screen not lifting up, I would say you must have and OEM connection missing or not plugged in as the screen motor is managed by the car rather than the aftermarket screen. Just check its all plugged in right. Also the little bag of black bits will be the replacement spacer/reducer to allow the screen to sit further back. I didn’t need to fit this on mine but sounds like you might need to.
